Abstract

An augmented reality is a technology that will be utilized at Basic Building Construction lesson in the Construction and Property Business Expertise Competency at SMK Negeri 1 Cibinong as a learning media to enhance comprehension of building construction material and modify learning media to technology advancements. This research was conducted with Research and Development (R&D) method and the ASSURE model. In this research, the process of developing learning media encompassed various steps, including analysis, determining a learning method, identifying a learning objective, constructing the media and materials, participation, and evaluation and improvement. The research results indicated that: (1) media experts’ validation attains an average of 91% (very feasible); (2) material experts’ validation attains a percentage of 92% (very feasible); and (3) augmented reality application users’ validation attains an average result of 81% (very feasible). The augmented reality application in the Basic Building Construction lesson can be utilized in the Construction and Business Expertise Competency at SMK Negeri 1 Cibinong, as determined by the validity test and the limited user trials.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan media pembelajaran pada mata kuliah Desain Interior di Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Bangunan Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada pentingnya penggunaan media pembelajaran yang tepat untuk menunjang pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap materi-materi desain yang bersifat visual dan teknis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket yang disebarkan kepada 50 mahasiswa angkatan 2018–2020 yang telah menempuh mata kuliah Desain Interior. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis melalui uji validitas, reliabilitas, dan deskripsi statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan memahami materi tanpa bantuan media pembelajaran. Media digital dan visual seperti video pembelajaran, animasi, serta e-modul dinilai lebih efektif dibandingkan media konvensional. Selain itu, aksesibilitas media masih menjadi kendala, sehingga dibutuhkan media yang fleksibel dan mudah diakses kapan saja. Mahasiswa juga mengharapkan inovasi dan pembaruan media yang digunakan dalam perkuliahan agar sesuai dengan karakteristik materi dan kebutuhan belajar mereka. Beberapa materi yang dianggap paling sulit adalah gambar teknik, prinsip dan gaya desain, serta elemen pembentuk ruang. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pengembangan media pembelajaran yang lebih variatif, interaktif, dan berbasis teknologi digital.   Abstract: This study aims to analyze the learning media needs in the Interior Design course within the Building Engineering Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Jakarta. The research is based on the importance of appropriate learning media to support students’ understanding of visual and technical design materials. This study employs a quantitative approach using a descriptive method. The research instrument was a questionnaire distributed to 50 students from the 2018–2020 cohorts who had completed the Interior Design course. The collected data were analyzed through validity testing, reliability testing, and statistical description. The results showed that most students had difficulty understanding the course material without the aid of instructional media. Digital and visual media—such as instructional videos, animations, and e-modules—were considered more effective than conventional media. However, accessibility remains a challenge, indicating a need for flexible media that can be accessed anytime. Students also expressed a strong demand for innovation and renewal of learning media to better match the characteristics of the subject and their learning preferences. The most challenging topics identified by students included technical drawing, design principles and styles, and space-forming elements. Therefore, it is necessary to develop more varied, interactive, and digitally based learning media.
