Abstract

Customer intention in paying ZISWAF through BSI mobile is important to investigate because ZISWAF are important instruments to reduce the level of poverty in Indonesia. The aim of this study is to determine the factors influencing customers' interest in making ZISWAF payments through BSI mobile. This research employs the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) theory, incorporating two additional internal variables, namely trust and security. A quantitative approach is used to examine the relationship between dependent and independent variables, utilizing primary data obtained directly from Indonesian Sharia Bank customers through the distribution of 220 questionnaires. Subsequently, the data is processed using the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) approach. The results indicate that perceived usefulness and security variables have a positive impact on the interest in paying ZISWAF, perceived ease of use and trust variables do not affect the interest in making zakat and waqf payments through BSI mobile in Indonesia.

Abstract

As digital technologies evolve at an unprecedented pace, Islamic banks face the dual challenge of embracing innovation while maintaining strict adherence to Sharia principles. This article examines the strategies employed by Islamic banks to balance technological advancements with Sharia compliance, focusing on the integration of digital tools such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, and mobile banking. Through a review of current practices and case studies, this study identifies key factors that enable Islamic banks to innovate without compromising their ethical and religious obligations. The analysis highlights the potential benefits of digital transformation, including enhanced customer engagement, improved operational efficiency, and greater financial inclusion, while also addressing the risks associated with technological adoption, such as regulatory challenges and ensuring Sharia compliance in a rapidly changing digital landscape. The findings underscore the importance of a thoughtful, collaborative approach among technologists, Sharia scholars, and regulators to enable Islamic banks to navigate the digital age successfully. Achieving this balance is vital not only for maintaining competitiveness but also for upholding the integrity of Islamic finance.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the variables of usability, convenience and corporate image on millennial students in using BSI Mobile which focuses on Central Java Province and the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The model used is TAM with the addition of lifestyle as a moderating variable. Respondents in this study totaled 220 BSI Mobile users who were included in the millennial generasi category and were spread across Central Java Province and the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The approach used is descriptive quantitative using SEM (structural equation model) as an analysis model, using SmartPLS 3.0 software. Convenience, usability, corporate image and lifestyle as usability moderating variables have an influence on millennial students in using BSI Mobile. However, lifestyle as a moderation of convenience and lifestyle as a variable for moderating corporate image have no effect on millennial students in using BSI Mobile. The results of these findings are expected to contribute to an understanding of the decision to use BSI Mobile in Indonesia, especially in the context of Mobile Banking services from an academic perspective.
