Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of an illustrated biological dictionary in SMA N 10 Sarolangun, students have difficulty in interpreting Latin terms or scientific language in the package book, but students can interpret biological terms through the glossary in the package book, the glossary contained in the package book is not complete, the average existing biological dictionary is not equipped with pictures. This study aims to develop an Illustrated Biology Dictionary on Kingdom Animalia Biology Subject Matter for High School that is valid and practical. The development of this dictionary uses the R&D method with the 4-D model which consists of the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The subjects of this study consisted of 5 validators, for the practicality test conducted by 1 Biology teacher and 10 students of class X SMA N 10 Sarolangun. The data from this study are the results of the validity and practicality of the dictionary, then this data is analyzed by descriptive analysis. Based on the results of this study, a product in the form of an illustrated biological dictionary of animal kingdom material was produced. The product developed was declared very valid by validators both from the aspects of content feasibility, language, presentation, and graphics with an average validity value of 90%. The product was also declared practical by teachers while by students it was declared very practical both from the aspects of ease of use, learning time, and attractiveness with an average value of 3.35 by teachers and 3.92 by students. So that the illustrated biological dictionary has been declared valid and practical.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the use of media in the Biology learning process at school which is not optimal. In biology learning there are terms in Latin that are used in learning. The existence of these terms makes students feel difficult in interpreting. Therefore, researchers developed a dictionary of scientific names of mammals as a support for students' biological learning at school. This study aims to describe the process of developing a dictionary of scientific names for mammals at SMA Negeri 11 Merangin and to produce a valid and practical dictionary of scientific names for class X SMA Negeri 11 Merangin. This research is a development research that uses the stages of the 4-D model which includes the define, design, and develop stages. In this study there were 6 validators with the research subjects consisting of 25 class X students of SMA Negeri 11 Merangin. This research instrument uses a validity questionnaire and a practicality questionnaire. Research data validation results and practicality of scientific name dictionaries, then analyzed with descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the study, it was obtained that the validity of the questionnaire data was 86% in terms of content feasibility, 89% in terms of language, 88% in terms of presentation, and 91% in terms of graphics, with an overall average percentage of questionnaire validity results of 88.5% (very valid). The dictionary of scientific names produced also obtained results in terms of ease of use of 3.6 stated to be very practical, in terms of learning time of 3.7 stated to be very practical, in terms of attractiveness of 3.7 stated to be very practical. So that the average product practicality was stated to be very practical by the teacher with an average value obtained, namely 3.6, the result of the teacher's assessment. So it can be concluded that the resulting dictionary of mammal animal scientific names is valid and practical.

Abstract

The results of Integrated Science learning for Class VIII Boys at SMP IT Darul Ikhlas Al-Islami were only 18.75%, which reached the minimum limit criteria set by the school, namely 74. This was caused by several factors, such as students being lazy to ask the teacher if the subject matter they were learning was do not understand, and lack of enjoyment of reading science learning material from within students. To overcome these problems the researchers tried to apply the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMP IT Darul Ikhlas Al-Islami. This research method is classroom action research (CAR). This research was conducted in 3 cycles, each cycle consisting of 2 face-to-face meetings and 1 evaluation. The results of this class action research can be seen from the average value increasing from 30.51 in cycle I to 52.42 in cycle II, and to 80.62 in cycle III. While seen from the completeness of student learning from 0% in cycle I to 37.5% in cycle II, and to 75% in cycle III.

Abstract

The background of this research used that teachers at SMP N 45 Merangin have never develop science teaching aids on human digestive system materials made from used materials such as used books and used printing paper. Teachers only use student worksheets (LKS) for teaching, limited props provider at school. This study aims to develop science teaching aids on the material of the human digestive system' by utilizing used goods for class VIII student of SMP/MTs that are valid and praktical. This study used methods of the 4-D model, namely define, design, develop and disseminate. The research subjects consisted of 5 people of produce validation, namely content feasibility, language, presentation and graphics and practicality tests were carried out by 1 science teacher and 17 students of SMP N 45 Merangin. Based on the results of this study, a product in the form of teaching aids for the human digestive system was produced from used goods such as used books and used printing paper which were very valid from the aspect of presentation and graphics with and average value of 96,1%. The results of the validation of the booklet from the aspects of content feasibility, language, presentation and graphics with an average value of 98,75% are in a very valid category. The resulting visual aids and booklets were also stated to be practical by teachers and student both in terms of ease of use, learning time and attractivenes with an average score of 3,33 for teachers and 3,26 for students. So itu can be concluded that teaching aids for the human digestive system from used goods and booklets are stated to be very valid and practical.

Abstract

This research was conducted to evaluate the importance of developing teaching materials in cell biology that can support the learning process and improve students' comprehension to achieve the learning objectives. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using survey methods. Questionnaires and observation sheets were utilized as research instruments. To collect data, the observation sheets were provided to students attending cell biology lectures, while the questionnaires were distributed to students who had completed cell biology courses in the biology education study program at STKIP YPM Bangko. Descriptive analysis techniques were applied to analyze the data obtained from the student questionnaires and ongoing lecture process observation sheets. The findings of this research underscore the significance of creating well-designed and engaging teaching materials in the form of modules for cell biology. These materials aim to enhance students' understanding and foster an active, creative, and critical learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of development of learning video media for Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) models that explain biodiversity material at SMA N 20 Merangin. The learning method is conventional, the media used is Infocus, and the learning resources used are textbooks. The shortcomings of learning methods, media, and learning resources found at SMA N 20 Merangin are still conventional, resulting in students playing a less active role and becoming bored during learning, especially when learning about biodiversity material. These points consider the creation of items within the framework of learning video media for Relevant Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) models that are substantial and commonsense for lesson X SMA. This type of inquiry is improvement research using the 4D model. The investigative methods utilized in this investigation are legitimacy surveys and common sense surveys for instructors and students. Five validators approved this investigation to test the legitimacy of learning recordings based on CTL models, specifically four speakers from Merangin College and one science educator from SMA N 20 Merangin. Relevant CTL demonstrate learning video media items, within the perspective of substance possibility, with a 91% (Exceptionally Substantial) rating, introduction midpoints of 91% (Exceptionally Valid), media illustrations midpoints of 95% (Exceptionally Substantial), and an overall number of perspectives of 92% (Very Valid). The learning video item based on the CTL show is additionally complemented by the Learner Worksheet (LKPD). Within the fabric angle, the normal score is 100% (Exceptionally Substantial), the standard dialect score is 87% (Exceptionally Substantial), and the overall number of angles is 93% (Exceptionally Substantial). The common sense test of learning video media based on the Relevant CTL demonstrates an average of 3.91 (Exceptionally Down to Earth) from teachers and an average of 3.31 (Common Sense) from students. Based on the considerations delivered, items are presented in the form of learning video media, based on the Relevant CTL model of biodiversity fabric, which is substantial and down-to-earth for lesson X SMA.
