Abstract

Effects of formulations and storage length on the viability, bioactivity and persistence of Metarhizium anisopliae against Crocidolomia pavonana Fabricius. Crocidolomia pavonana Fabricius (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) is important pest on vegetables form Brassicaceae family, that required to be control. Metarhizium anisopliae entomopathogenic fungus is one potensial of the biological agent that can be used to control C. pavonana. This study aimed to investigated the effect of storage duration on viability, bioactivity and persistence of M. anisopliae after formulated to control C. pavonana. Laboratory experiment was arranged in completely randomized design with the treatment was storage duration that included 2,4,6,8 and 10 weeks that replicated three trials. The variabels to be measured were viability and bioactivity at concentrations106, 107, and108. Field experiment used T Student test with treatment was duration of M. anisopliae formulation survive and its persistence on C. pavonana. Laboratory experiment results showed that the best storage duration of formulation on Metarhizium viability was pellet frmulation at 4th week 4 after storage. While the best bioactivity was pellet formulation with concentration 107 at 10 weeks after storage. Field experiment results showed that M. anisopliae formulation could be survived and its persistence to control pests C. pavonana until 4th day after application, either pellet or powder formulation.

Abstract

Phosphate solubilizing fungi from ultisol acid soil can be used as biological fertilizer to increase corn growth. Field experiment to be done to know effect of Phosphate solublizing fungi (PSF) and anorganic P fertilizer on corn on ultisol. The Randomly Complete Block design used that consist two factors, eg. fungi of PSF and anorganic P fertilizer. Factor fungi of PSF (M) with four levels : M0 = without PSF; M1= PSF from corn  rizhosphere (10 ml/plant hole); M2= PSF from chilli rizhosphere  (10 ml/plant hole) and M3=PSF from banana rizhosphere. (10 ml/plant hole). Second factor was anorganic P fertilizer (P) with three levels: P0= without anorganic P fertilizer; P1= halp of anorganic P fertilizer recomendation dosage and P2= anorganic P fertilizer recomendation dosage. Results showed that application of PSF increased plant  hight of plant hingher than without PSF. Anorganic P fertilizer application increased, hight  of plant hei significant.Application.of anorganik P fertilizer increased stemp diamter very sinificant but not significant on plant heiggth.  Interaction effect PSF with anorganic P  fertilizaer  was not significant on corn growth.. Abstract

Paddy sawah cultivation that done for long time used chemical fertilizer with dosage that continously increased  but many reports indicated no  respond on increasing paddy production. Utilization of chemical fertilizer caused decreased soil quality, which  fertilizer respond  was less that indicated  by  production that hard to increase while  fertilizer dosage  was  increased every year so farm cost more expensive especially for buy fertilizer. This problem must be solved by applicated res earch result for farmer with utilized harvest waste as organic fertilizer by composting. This IbM activity aim was to used  harvest waste as organic fertilizer by composting to decrease fertilizer cost and  farmer income be increased. This activity target was found IPTEKS for farmer how processes to made harvest waste be organic fertilizer by composting to increased fertilizer efficiency so  that chemical fertilizer can decreased. This activity result after socialized about utilization and  composting processes was farmer understood and could made compost from harvest waste and  increased  farmer knowledge abaout utilization harvest waste as organic fertilizer.Key words: compost, farmer, harvest waste

Abstract

Surgical site infection (SSI) is a fairly common complication that can arise after surgery, both minor surgical procedures and more complex surgical procedures. This infection can occur due to the entry of pathogenic microorganisms into the surgical wound, causing an inflammatory reaction. This infection can prolong recovery time, increase mortality, require additional medical intervention, and affect the patient's quality of life. This impacts patient clinical outcomes as well as additional care costs. Factors such as surgical technique, cleanliness of the operating environment, use of implants, and the patient's health condition can influence and also contribute to increasing the risk of infection. Symptoms of surgical site infection include pain, swelling, redness, or the presence of pus in the surgical wound. When this infection occurs, immediate medical action is needed to prevent the spread of infection which can cause advanced conditions such as sepsis. Prevention of surgical site infections involves sterile measures before and during surgical procedures, the use of prophylactic antibiotics, and thorough post-operative monitoring. These efforts aim to reduce the risk of surgical site infections, ensure optimal recovery, and improve the overall results of the surgical procedure. An in-depth understanding of the risk factors and prevention of surgical site infections can help medical personnel provide quality care and ensure the success of the operation. There is also the importance of early detection and treatment of infections in patients undergoing surgery.

Abstract

Lingkungan hidup yang nyaman serta bersih merupakan hal sangat penting untuk hidup sehat maka perlu kita jaga dengan sebaik mungkin. Akan tetapi kesadaran masyarakat untuk menjaga kebersihan lingkungan bisa dibilang sudah mulai berkurang. Terbukti dengan maraknya budaya membuang sampah sembarangan yang dilakukan oleh sebagian besar masyarakat . Mulai dari anak-anak hingga orang dewasa seolah tidak merasa bahwa tindakan mereka tersebut salah dan dapat merugikan lingkungan serta orang banyak. Kita tentu tahu salah satu penyebab banjir tidak lain disebabkan oleh budaya membuang sampah sembarangan ke sungai dan tidak mengenal arti lingkungan bersih apalagi membedakan mana jenis sampah organik dan jenis sampah anorganik. Bila masalah ini dibiarkan bukan tidak mungkin akan semakin banyak masalah dan bencanan yang akan kita hadapi di masa mendatang.Diharapkan kesadaran masyarakat untuk dapat memilah sampah organik dan organik. Di mana ke dua jenis sampah ini dapat dikelola dan dimanfaatkan untuk menambah pendapatan keluarga.Sebaiknya disetiap rumah tangga sudah mempunyai tempat sampah yang berbeda sehingga dapat memilah ke dua jenis sampah tersebut, dan tempat sampah juga ditempatkan di daerah-daerah strategis yang terdiri dari tempat sampah organik dan anorganik. Apabila masalah sampah ini sudah dapat diatasi maka lingkungan yang nyaman dan bersih dapat tercipta sehingga masyarakat terhindar dari bahaya serangan penyakit dan banjir

Abstract

Kegiatan ini dilakukan untuk menghasilkan kebun bibit mangrove yang menjadi acuan pengelolaan ekosistem mangrove di pesisir desa Pasar Rawa Kecamatan Gebang, Kabupaten Langkat. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk mengedukasi melalui penyuluhan kepada masyarakat untuk memelihara kelestarian ekosistem mangrove. Metode kegiatan dilakukan dengan cara, yaitu metode diskusi dan ceramah pada kegiatan sosialisasi kepada masyarakat tentang pentingnya ekosistem mangrove dan menjelaskan cara pembuatan kebun bibit mangrove. Semua kegiatan berjalan dengan baik dan lancar yang dapat diukur dengan indikator keberhasilan kegiatan, terjadi peningkatan pemahaman pada saat dilakukan sosialisasi dan antusias serta partisipasi masyarakat pada saat acara dilaksanakan

Abstract

This study aimed to improve students’ vocabulary mastery through the use of the "dabble" game. It was conducted using a classroom action research method, which was carried out in two cycles. Cycle I involved three meetings, while Cycle II also had three meetings. The research was conducted with the students of class XI-B at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Al-Washliyah 22 Tembung, which had 36 students in total. Data collection involved both quantitative and qualitative methods. The quantitative data consisted of the students' scores, while the qualitative data was collected through observation sheets and diary notes. The results showed that students' vocabulary scores improved with each test. For example, the mean score in the initial "Orientation" test was 50.66, but by the first test in Cycle I, the mean score increased to 70.33. By the end of Cycle II, in the final test (Test II), the mean score rose further to 86.08, demonstrating steady progress. Additionally, based on the observation sheets and diary notes, it was found that the teaching-learning process proceeded smoothly, with no significant disruptions. This indicates that the implementation of the dabble game in the classroom contributed positively to enhancing the students' English vocabulary mastery, suggesting that game-based learning can be an effective strategy for improving language skills.
