Abstract

Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Entomologi dan Fitopatologi Universitas Andalas Padangdari bulan Mei sampai September 2006. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui patogenisitas isolat-isolat jamurentomopatogen terhadap stadia telur dan larva hama kubis Crocidolomia pavonana. Penelitian ditata dalam rancanganacak lengkap pola faktorial dengan 2 faktor, yaitu 7 isolat ditambah 1 kontrol dan 5 stadia larva hama kubis. Hasilpenelitian menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas masing-masing isolat jamur entomopatogen berbeda nyata terhadapberbagai stadia telur dan larva hama ulat kubis. Hasil uji patogenisitas menunjukkan bahwa jamur Beauveria (isolatBAP5 dan BPP1), Nomuraea (isolat NAP3), Metarhizium (isolat MAP1), Paecilomyces (isolat PPP4), dan Fusarium(isolat FPP3) adalah jamur yang virulen terhadap telur dan larva C. pavonana. Jamur B. bassiana mempunyai potensiuntuk dikembangkan sebagai agens pengendali hama kubis pada masa mendatang.ABSTRACT. Hasyim, A., Nuraida, and Trizelia. 2009. This studywas carried out at Entomology and Phytopathology Laboratory Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University fromMay to September 2006. The objectives of this study were to assess the pathogenicities of the entomopathogenicfungi isolates to eggs and larvae of C. pavonana. A completely randomized design with 2 factors i.e. 7 isolates ofentomophatogenic fungi with a control and 5 larvae stages of cabbage caterpillars were used. The results showedthat there were significant difference in infectivity of all isolates tested to eggs and larvae stages of the caterpillar.The isolates of Beauveria (isolate BAP5 and BPP1), Nomuraea (isolate NAP3), Metarhizium (isolate MAP1)w,Paecilomyces (isolate PPP4), and Fusarium (isolate FPP3) were more virulence to eggs and larva stages of C.pavonana. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah mengidentifikasi dan mengkarakterisasi jamur entomopatogen dari rizosfirpertanaman kubis. Percobaan ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Entomologi dan Penyakit Tumbuhan, FakultasPertanian Universitas Andalas dan Laboratorium Entomologi, Balai Penelitian Tanaman Buah Tropika Solok dariMaret sampai Agustus 2006. Pengujian sporulasi jamur entomopatogen menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap polafaktorial dengan 2 faktor yaitu jenis isolat dan substrat. Sebanyak 500 g tanah diambil dari pertanaman kubis di PadangPanjang (Desa Koto Panjang) dan Alahan Panjang (Desa Rimbo Data) kemudian dimasukkan ke dalam kotak plastik.Sebanyak 10 ekor Tenebrio molitor stadia larva instar ketiga yang baru berganti kulit dimasukkan ke dalam kotakyang berisi tanah, kemudian ditutup dengan selapis tipis tanah dan dilembabkan dengan menyemprotkan akuadessteril di atasnya sebanyak 100-150 ml. Kotak tersebut diletakkan di laboratorium dengan kelembaban >90%. Larvayang terinfeksi setelah 3-4 hari digunakan sebagai sumber isolat jamur entomopatogen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkanbahwa jamur yang menginfeksi T. molitor adalah jamur entomopatogen yang dapat menyebabkan kematian hamakrop kubis Crocidolomia pavonana F.. Enam jenis jamur patogen serangga berhasil dibiakkan pada media SDAY.Genus jamur patogen tersebut adalah Fusarium sp., Beauveria sp., Metarhizium sp., Nomuraea sp., Paecilomycessp., dan Achersonia sp.. Beras dan gandum adalah substrat yang paling baik bagi perbanyakan dan pertumbuhankoloni jamur dibandingkan substrat lainnya. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa spesies jamur entomopatogentersebar secara alami di lingkungan kebun tanaman kubis.ABSTRACT. Nuraida and A. Hasyim. 2009. This experiment was conducted at Entomology and PhytopathologyLaboratory Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University and Entomology Laboratory of Tropical Fruit ResearchInstitute, Solok, West Sumatera, from March to August 2006. A factorial completely randomized design with 2factors, i.e. fungi isolates and its substrates was applied. About 500 g soil samples were collected from cabbagefields in Padang Panjang (Koto Panjang Village) and Alahan Panjang (Rimbo Data Village) and placed into plasticbags. The soils were screened for the presence of entomopathogenic fungi. The new third instars larvas of Tenebriomolitor L. were used as baits. About 10 larvae were placed on the soil surface in plastic bowl and covered withlid. Then the bowl was incubated under laboratory condition with >90% RH. The infected larvas, after 3-4 days,were used as source of entomopathogenic fungi isolate. The results showed that fungi isolated from T. molitor baitwere all entomopathogenic causing mortality of Crocidolomia pavonana. Six entomopathogens were successfullycultured on SDAY. These were Fusarium sp., Beauveria sp., Metarhizium sp., Nomuraea sp., Paecilomyces sp., andAchersonia sp.. Rice and wheat produced better cultures and growth of fungal colony than those other substrates.The present study has provided strong evidence that entomopathogenic fungal species were naturally spread in thesoil environment of cabbage field.

Abstract

Effects of formulations and storage length on the viability, bioactivity and persistence of Metarhizium anisopliae against Crocidolomia pavonana Fabricius. Crocidolomia pavonana Fabricius (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) is important pest on vegetables form Brassicaceae family, that required to be control. Metarhizium anisopliae entomopathogenic fungus is one potensial of the biological agent that can be used to control C. pavonana. This study aimed to investigated the effect of storage duration on viability, bioactivity and persistence of M. anisopliae after formulated to control C. pavonana. Laboratory experiment was arranged in completely randomized design with the treatment was storage duration that included 2,4,6,8 and 10 weeks that replicated three trials. The variabels to be measured were viability and bioactivity at concentrations106, 107, and108. Field experiment used T Student test with treatment was duration of M. anisopliae formulation survive and its persistence on C. pavonana. Laboratory experiment results showed that the best storage duration of formulation on Metarhizium viability was pellet frmulation at 4th week 4 after storage. While the best bioactivity was pellet formulation with concentration 107 at 10 weeks after storage. Field experiment results showed that M. anisopliae formulation could be survived and its persistence to control pests C. pavonana until 4th day after application, either pellet or powder formulation.

Abstract

Hutagaol Peatalun Village is one of Villages in Balige District Toba Samosis Subdidistrict. Hutagaol Peatalun village is one of the rice agriculture centre in Sumatera Utara.in developing agriculture, farmers have problems about rice disease, that’s blast disease,. To face the problem, farmer should be given solution to help farmer improving biopesticide that have active substance of trichoderma to resolve blast disease. To date, the impact of blast disease was decrease and loss farmer’s rice production. The activity was involving two agriculture group. This activity consist of socialization  and practice to improve  trichoderma  biopesticide in corn media. The result of biopesticide was used by both of agriculture groups directly. This dedication activity succeed to increase farmer’s knowledge skill, and the point of view about  biopesticide as the substitution of chemistry fungicide that always  used by farmer’s.

Abstract

Kelompok tani Hita Saroha yang berlokasi di Desa Hutagaol Peatalun Kecamatan Balige Kabupaten Toba Samosir Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Selama ini petani untuk mengendalikan penyakit pada tanaman padi, mereka terbiasa menggunakan pestisida kimia yang berakibat pada kehilangan musuh alami, sehingga populasi serangan penyakit tetap tinggi dan menimbulkan dampak negatif. Untuk menghindari terjadinya dampak negatif akibat penggunaan pestisida kimia maka di gunakan pengendalian alternatif yang ramah lingkungan yaitu pengendalian dengan Biofungisida yang memiliki potensi besar dalam pengendalian penyakit pada tanaman padi, dengan memberikan pelatihan memperbanyak agen hayati menggunakan media jagung dengan peralatan sederhana. Dari kegiatan ini petani di Desa Hutagaol Peatalun mampu memproduksi biopestisida dan mengaplikasikannya pada tanaman padi mereka, jika dibandingkan dengan sebelum dilakukannya kegiatan program pengabdian ini.

Abstract

Pemerintah telah memperkenalkan berbagai teknologi budidaya padi untuk menjamin ketersediaan pangan. Sejak tahun 1970 petani desa Tualang sudah terbiasa menggunakan varietas unggul, pestisida kimia dan pupuk kimia yang didukung irigasi. Paket teknologi budidaya konvensional ini, khususnya penggunaan pupuk kimia ternyata telah menyebabkan menurunnya kualitas tanah dimana respons terhadap pemupukan menurun yang ditunjukkan dengan sulitnya produksi padi meningkat walaupun dosis pupuk sudah ditambahkan. Hal ini menunjukkan kelelahan tanah yang dicirikan utamanya oleh kandungan bahan organik tanah yang sangat rendah. Salah satu upaya perbaikan kualitas tanah ini dapat dilakukan dengan memberikan bahan organik, khususnya dalam bentuk pupuk organik. Sumber utama bahan baku pupuk organik yang tersedia adalah jerami padi. Untuk memfaatkan jerami padi menjadi pupuk organik dapat digunakan teknologi kompos. Pengenalan teknologi pembuatan kompos kepada petani dan pemanfaatannya dalam budidaya padi telah membantu petani untuk memperbaiki kualitas tanah untuk menjamin keberlanjutan produksi.

Abstract

The preservation of mangrove forests must always be maintained, because mangrove forests have biological, ecological and economic functions which are of course very beneficial for the survival of every living creature. Optimal use of mangrove forests will bring many benefits to the lives of communities around the coast of Pasar Rawa. Success in mangrove management will improve the welfare of the community around the coast of Pasar Rawa. In implementing this program, the method of giving lectures about optimizing mangroves is used in an effort to improve the welfare of the people of Pasar Rawa. The aim of this program is for partners to be able to improve the welfare of the people of Pasar Rawa.
