Abstract

Mosquitoes are insects that carry many diseases to humans, such as Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) and Malaria. This disease is prone to outbreaks in tropical or subtropical regions, especially during the rainy season. In puddles, mosquitoes can lay eggs and breed, causing a mosquito population explosion. This is very dangerous, mainly if it occurs in a community residential area. Therefore, efforts are needed to prevent the development of mosquito breeding, in addition to maintaining a clean environment and ensuring that there is no stagnant water. Steps are required to protect yourself from mosquito attacks, which can be done by using repellents or mosquito repellents. The materials used must also be natural and not use hazardous chemicals that can damage the environment or cause health problems. One is using the lemongrass plant, which contains citronellol and geraniol. This activity aims to provide information on the manufacture of mosquito repellent spray from lemongrass for the community. Anti-mosquito sprays do not harm the skin or health and are easy to make for the public.

Abstract

The procurement electricity increases every year, therefore concept distributed generation is used. To maintain the quality of distribution is used a good Over Current Relay (OCR) setting to overcome Short Circuit in an IEEE Modified 7 Bus Electric Power system. Relay settings used 2 calculations are manual calculations and ANN method. Adaptive relay calculations distributed generation system are divided 4 conditions. The ANN method is used to see the error value coordinate. The results calculations using the ANN method obtained MSE value 3,91e-14. Total TDS and IPickup results in condition 1 are 1,355328s and 38,6715, in condition 2 are 1,199314s and 35,5915, in condition 3 are 1,30228s and 27,1915 and in condition 4 are 1,17221s and 24,304. While the results ANN method in condition 1 are 1,355349s and 38,671495, in condition 2 are 1,199338s and 35,591495, in condition 3 are 1,302281s and 27,191494 and in condition 4 are 1,172241s and 24,303997. The results of relay coordination in accordance with the design in conditions 1 and 2. Conditions 3 and 4 with the location fault on Bus 2 Backup relay R3 is replaced with R6, this occurs due to a change in the direction of the fault current in the system.

Abstract

The use of inappropriate plastic in food packaging can pose risks to human health, including the potential for cancer, because the plastic raw materials come from natural gas and petroleum. Even though it is still used, the use of this material is starting to be reduced because its impact is not environmentally friendly and has the potential to be detrimental to health. One innovation that can be implemented is the use of edible organic plastic, such as edible film. The development of edible film materials involves polymer compounds from plants, such as starch. This research aims to find the best formulation for making edible film using various variations of chitosan addition. Edible film is made from sweet potato starch with the addition of 3% variable composition chitosan; 4%; 5% (w/v) and glycerol (3%). Tests show that the higher the chitosan content in starch, the Tensile Strength (TS) of edible film will increase. Findings from the research show that the best edible film is produced from sweet potato starch with a chitosan variation of 5% (w/v).
