Abstract

Learning Media is everything that can be used to convey messages or information in the teaching and learning process so that it can stimulate students' attention and interest in learning. The problem found at SDN 012 is the limited learning media in supporting the teaching and learning process so that it causes children's development and understanding to be less than optimal, such as children having difficulty in recognizing the alphabet and understanding mathematics lessons. This Kukerta activity aims to help students at SDN 012 Pasir Utama Village in recognizing the letters of the alphabet and understanding the divisional material taught in schools. Smart Board and Reading Board Learning Media are strategies used to make it easier for students and students to understand and improve their knowledge. Smart Board media is used in division materials that aim to make it easier for grade 4 students of SDN 012 Rambah Hilir to understand mathematical sciences, especially in division, while reading boards aim to help students, especially grade 1, in alphabet letter recognition and word-to-word spelling.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the results of learning mathematics for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru in the odd semester of 2022/2023 by applying a problem-based learning paradigm. This particular study is a classroom action study (CAR) focusing on Kemmis and McTaggart's design. The subject of this study was a group of 36 grade VIII students. This research was conducted in two cycles, and each was carried out in 4 meetings. The results of the study show that the development of a problem-based learning model can improve student learning outcomes by doing the following: 1) student organization on problems, namely the teacher will provide the necessary material; 2) guide students to learn, namely the teacher presents math problems; 3) investigate independent, or group investigations, namely students independently or in groups looking for solutions to the questions asked; 4) presentation or presentation of the results obtained; 5) Evaluation requires teachers and students to assess the results of group discussions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperbaiki proses pembelajaran dan meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik kelas VII_1 SMPN 2 Rambah Kabupaten Rokan Hulu melalui penerapan model Discovery Learning pada materi bentuk aljabar. Subjek penelitian adalah 21 peserta didik kelas VII_1 SMPN 2 Rambah Kabupaten Rokan Hulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, setiap siklus terdiri atas empat tahap, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Instrumen penelitian meliputi Alur Tujuan Pembelajaran (ATP), modul ajar, lembar observasi aktivitas guru dan peserta didik, serta tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif naratif dan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Discovery Learning secara efektif memperbaiki proses pembelajaran dan meningkatkan Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis peserta didik. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan peningkatan skor rata-rata dan persentase ketercapaian kemampuan komunikasi matematis pada setiap siklus. Pada tes awal, persentase ketercapaian 0%, meningkat menjadi 33,33% pada isiklus I, dan 76,19% pada siklus II. Dengan demikian, penerapan model Discovery Learning terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar di kelas dan imengembangkan Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis peserta didik kelas VII_1 SMPN 2 Rambah Kabupaten Rokan Hulu pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2024/2025 pada materi Bentuk Aljabar.
