Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of Directive Speech Acts used by the main characters in the movie of Jurassic World Dominion (2022). This study applies the theory of Searle (1976) to the types of Directive Speech Acts. The subject of this study is the conversation of the main characters in the movie. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach and Simak Bebas Libat Cakap (SBLC) technique to gather and analyze the data. The results of this study reveal two things, first, Question ranks the highest score with 46 utterances (57,5%), because the genre of the movie is action automatically every conversation will be followed by action from the listener. Meanwhile, Permission 2 utterances (3.7%) rank the lowest score, because the movie is about an adventure and there are not too many formal words found. Finally, Permission is the least commonly used because most of the dialogue in this movie is about adventure, and the relationships between the players are closely intertwined without any age restrictions.

Abstract

Kuranji Traditional Village has the potential to become a cultural tourism object that can represent and introduce Minangkabau culture well at the national and international levels. Even so, Kuranji Traditional Village is still constrained by several crucial issues such as infrastructure, amenities and ancillary services, human resources, promotion (visibility in cyberspace), and strategic development plans. The purpose of this activity is to increase the visibility and digital promotion of the Kuranji Traditional Village in cyberspace. This activity was carried out using the workshop method; first, participants are given materials and directions; second, participants work on or practice the material that has been delivered; the three presenters and participants held discussions to resolve situational problems that were not covered in the material previously presented. The results of the activity showed positive things where managers and cultural activists in the Kuranji Traditional Village for development felt that this activity was very useful for improving the Kuranji Traditional Village as a cultural tourism object as well as an effort to increase the financial strength of the Kuranji Traditional Village community to achieve its main goal, maintenance of Minangkabau culture, through this digital promotion. Abstract

Adolescents with low self-esteem often exhibit negative social behavior. Teens with lower self-esteem are believed to be those who do not have a strong bond with or are not linked to their fathers. This study aims to investigate how parenting practices, in particular father-child connection, impact the self-esteem of teenagers in the Minangkabau community. The study involved 166 teens from the ethnic group of Minangkabau. The Self Esteem Scale and the IPPA-R for Children were used to assess the variables, and simple linear regression was used to analyze the data using SPSS 25. The results show that father-child bonding in parenting has a substantial impact on teenagers' self-esteem in Minangkabau.
