Abstract

The community is not yet aware that proper and correct waste management is the main capital in waste management. It is hoped that the community will improve their behavior and be used as a guide by the local government regarding what steps to take in the future to be more synergized with the community in managing waste. The people who have been tested are seen from recent education, discipline, and environmental knowledge, with a total sample of 100 people. The study used questionnaires and interviews as data collection tools. The data that has been obtained is analyzed by testing the criteria used is the Rough set. The results of the extracted criteria produce 9 varied general rules, which can produce solutions and steps forward as supporting success in creating a clean environment from waste

Abstract

Sekolah sebagai fasilitas bagi generasi bangsa agar dapat kompetitif dan siap membangun bangsa dengan keahlian yang dimiliki. Perilaku siswa yang terbentuk tentunya akan berdampak terhadap keberlangsungan fasilitas yang tersedia di sekolah, dimana hal ini menjadi cerminan bagaimana siswa berperilaku di luar sekolah. Untuk itu, penerapan hukuman bagi siswayang melanggar patut diberlakukan secara adil dan baik. Dengan rancangan aplikasi berbasis sistem pakar serta kajian berbasis fuzzy logic ini diharapkan, sekolah dapat menggunakannya dalam menerapkan hukuman dan jumlah kesalahan siswa yang membuang sampah secara sembarangan. Dalam penelitian ini, dilihat bagaimana peran dari siswa terhadap lingkungan mengelola sampah, khususnya di lingkungan sekolah. Didapatkan hasil rule yang ditetapkan sebagai kriteria acuan di masa depan untuk perubahan perilaku siswa sadar akan pengelolaan sampah yang lebih baik.

Abstract

The waste management approach is a worldwide problem and is often neglected. The situation in urban areas is worse than in rural areas. It is a big challenge to deal with this dilemma, therefore, the management of a better management system is inevitable. The input data used in this study included the community's last educational data and social stratification, both through questionnaires and interviews with the community. Furthermore, the data that has been presented in the decision system is collected or eliminated for each object that has the same attributes, then summed and collected into the same class so that the cleaning technique process becomes simple (equivalent class). The Advanced Discernibility Matrix and the Discernibility Modulo D Matrix will compare a collection of attributes based on the equivalence class that will be modeled with the last Education modeled "A", the social stratification of society is modeled "B". The reduction results obtained reveal that there are several reasons why people throw garbage in the river. This provides information, the latest differences in social stratification and education can influence people's mindset and habits of disposing of garbage. The social stratification of people who are not from the wealthy class and have the last elementary-junior high school education contributes more negatively to the fullness of the river flow with garbage.

Abstract

Increasing development activities will also increase the risk of air pollution and environmental damage. This will cause damage to the structure and basic functions of ecosystems that support the lives of humans and other living creatures. Therefore, research regarding the analysis of air pollution levels is becoming increasingly important to carry out. This research aims to analyze the level of air pollution in Lubuk Begalung Sub-District, Padang City, and analyze the main sources of pollution that have an impact on the level of pollution. The research methods used in this research include direct observation and laboratory analysis to measure air quality and analyze the content of pollutants in it. Analysis of air pollution levels was carried out using descriptive statistical methods. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize the data and calculate the mean, median, and standard deviation values of the observed air quality parameters. The ISPU value obtained for the Total Suspended Particulate (TSP) parameter is 30.65, PM10 is 46.46, CO gas is 101.64, NO₂ gas is 49.2 and SO₂ gas is 50.86. From the analysis results, it can be seen It was concluded that the air quality in the Lubuk Begalung Sub-District area is still safe and has not polluted the air which is dangerous to human, animal, or plant health.

Abstract

Religion plays an important role in human life. Religion has a very dominant role in the formation of human personality because religion is the main source of foundation in the dimension of human life in shaping human personality, through disclosing spiritual values, creed values, worship practices, so as to give birth to individuals who are obedient and diligent in carrying out religious values. Obedience and adherence to religious values ​​not only shape individual personality, but are manifested from these personality values ​​can organize their lifestyle so that they can live life in a calm, orderly and neat manner. In this study, it is seen how the role of students' knowledge of religion and the environment has on the level of awareness of these students in managing waste, especially in the school environment. Using a total sample of 100 students, questionnaires are administered and the results obtained are processed with artificial intelligence using the rough set method. The results obtained were 8 new rules which were set as a reference in the future to change the behavior of students who are aware of better waste management.

Abstract

Riverine populations that rely on contaminated water bodies for everyday activities and food sources are most affected by the growing environmental and public health concern of microplastic pollution in river ecosystems. One of the world's most polluted rivers, the Citarum River is a high-risk environment for long-term exposure to microplastics, which may have an impact on women's reproductive health. An analytical cross-sectional design with an environmental and biomonitoring approach was applied to women of reproductive age (18–45 years) who had resided in the study area for at least two years, representing chronic exposure conditions. Environmental samples of river water, sediment, and locally consumed fish were analyzed using micro-FTIR or Raman spectroscopy, with polymer confirmation by Py-GC-MS. Individual exposure was assessed through fecal microplastic counts and urinary measurement of plastic-related chemical biomarkers, including phthalate metabolites (MEHP) and bisphenol A (BPA). The results demonstrated elevated levels of microplastics in environmental matrices and biological samples. Higher exposure categories were consistently associated with increased oxidative stress and inflammatory biomarkers, reduced anti-Müllerian hormone levels, elevated gonadotropins, and a higher prevalence of menstrual cycle disturbances. These findings indicate a dose–response pattern linking chronic microplastic exposure with biological stress and reproductive dysfunction. Overall, this study provides empirical evidence that long-term exposure to microplastics in contaminated river environments may pose a significant risk to women’s reproductive health, underscoring the need for environmental control and targeted public health interventions.

Abstract

The Air Dingin Landfill (TPA) in Padang City is a major waste disposal site, with open burning and waste decomposition activities producing hazardous gas emissions. This study aims to analyze the concentrations of sulfur dioxide (SO₂) and carbon monoxide (CO) as air pollution parameters around the landfill. Sampling was conducted in the active area of the Air Dingin Landfill on May 19, 2025. Laboratory analysis compared the concentrations of SO₂ and CO to ambient air quality standards established by Government Regulation No. 22 of 2021. The results showed that the SO₂ concentration was 173 µg/m³ and CO was 4,170 µg/m³, both exceeding the established standards. These findings indicate the need for emission management and combustion activity control to minimize the impact of air pollution.

Abstract

Palm oil mill liquid waste contains high organic matter and nutrients, such as Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Total Suspended Solid (TSS), and low acidity (pH). If this liquid waste is discharged directly into water bodies without treatment, it will pollute the environment and disrupt aquatic ecosystems (National Standardization Agency.2016). One of the efforts to treat liquid waste in palm oil mills can be done by aeration process. The aeration process aims to increase the level of dissolved oxygen (DO) in liquid waste so that aerobic microorganisms can effectively degrade organic matter. The aeration process can be carried out by several methods, such as using an aerator (Fitri, A., Susanto, H., & Budiaman, I. G. S. 2017).)Dissolved Oxygen (DO) Increased from 0 hours to 3.9 Mg/l, 24 hours to 5.7 Mg/l and 72 hours to 6.3 Mg/l. PH Increased from 0 hours to 4.32, 24 hours to 4.78 and 72 hours to 5.32 So the increase in DO and PH during the Aeration process is very helpful in reducing the level of pollutants in palm oil mill waste The effectiveness of the aerobic aeration process in the treatment of palm oil mill waste is able to reduce the level of TSS, COD, BOD, for TSS at 0 hours 461 m/L, 24 hours 403 m/L ,72 hours 275 m./L for COD at 0 hours 4240 m/L 24 hours 3816 m/L ,72 hours 1018 m/L for BOD at 0 hours 506 m/L, 24 hours 358 m/L ,72 hours 298 m/L.

Abstract

Mangosteen peel waste (Garcinia Mangostana L) is mixed with coffee grounds (Coffea Sp) to make compost, aiming to return organic matter to the soil and increase fertility. This study looks at the effectiveness of EM4 activator and dry leaves in composting mangosteen peel waste. There are two treatments: mangosteen peel, coffee grounds (KA), mangosteen peel, coffee grounds, dry leaves, EM4 (KADE). As a result, the addition of EM4 and dry leaves increases the composting speed in 31 days, using a C/N ratio reaching 4,79%, according to SNI stndards. The nutrient content in the compost also meets SNI 19-7030-2004 standards, using analysis providing levels of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, organic C, and water content thatare suitable for use. The study is recommended to beapplied to several types of plants in appropriate soil pH conditions. It is also recommended to make compost from mangosteen peel in the form of organic fertilizer.

Abstract

Water is a basic human need in everyday life. Humans use water for daily needs such as drinking, bathing, washing, and so on. Poor quality air will result in a bad environment that will affect human health and safety .Sumber Agung Village has a population of 2,773 people based on infographic data from Sumber Agung Village, consisting of 895 heads of families, with details of 1,411 men and 1,362 women The water source in Sumber Agung Village is PAM water PAM water is an abbreviation of Drinking Water Company, which refers to clean water distributed by drinking water companies to the community through a network of pipes, and has gone through a series of processing processes to ensure its quality is safe and for consumption Experts), stated that PAM air comes from various sources such as rivers, lakes, or groundwater which then go through processing processes such as coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection before being distributed can be related to several important factors, such as the condition of the air source, the potential for contamination, and its impact on public health. This study aims to analyze the drinking water quality in Sumber Agung Village based on physical parameters. Color: Drinking water should be clear and colorless. Turbidity: Drinking water should not be cloudy, indicating the presence of suspended particles such as mud. Temperature: The ideal drinking water temperature is between 18°C and 22°C. Chemical parameters: pH: The acidity or alkalinity of drinking water should be in the range of 65-85. Biological parameters: Pathogenic bacteria: Drinking water should be free from harmful bacteria such as E. coli and Coliform, according to Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023 concerning Drinking Water Quality Standards.
