Abstract

Abstract ? A young, married nurse has to play dual roles in her life: in a work and family setting. Playing dual roles does not always end in a conflict, but can also enrich one?s experience and increase one?s quality of life. Work-family enrichment occurs when experience in the work situation enriches the role in family context, and vice versa. The increasing of quality of life can boost up courage and positive psychological experience when playing a role as a professional nurse, which may result in the increased work engagement. The aim of this study is to explore the relationship of work-family enrichment and work engagement of the female nurse. Participants in this study were 53 married, female nurses. Instruments used in this study were Work-Family Enrichment Questionnaire and Utrech Work Engagement Questionnaire. The result showed the existence of positive correlation between work-family enrichment and work engagement. It is concluded that the increased work-family enrichment can also result in the increased work engagement.  Abstrak ? Perawat wanita yang sudah menikah, menjalankan dua peran utama dalam kehidupannya yaitu peran di pekerjaan dan keluarga. Menjalankan dua peran tersebut tidak selalu menimbulkan konflik, namun justru bisa memperkaya (enrichment) pengalaman dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup perawat yang menjalaninya. Work-family enrichment terjadi jika pengalaman dalam menjalankan peran di pekerjaan, meningkatkan kualitas hidup pada peran di keluarga, demikian pula sebaliknya. Peningkatan kualitas hidup dapat meningkatkan semangat dan kondisi psikologis yang positif dalam menjalankan peran sebagai perawat, dimana hal ini merupakan indikasi dari work engagement. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melihat hubungan antara work-family enrichment dengan work engagement pada perawat wanita. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 53 perawat wanita yang telah menikah. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah kuesioner Work-Family Enrichment dan Utrech Work Engagement. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan hubungan positif yang signifikan antara work-family enrichment dengan work engagement pada perawat wanita.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan sales performance sebelum dan setelah pelatihan optimisme pada karyawan penjualan di PT. “X” Bandung. Jumlah partisipan penelitan sebanyak 11 orang. Desain yang digunakan adalah Single Group Pretest-Posttest Studies dengan analisis data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon sign rank. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah skala Sales performance yang disusun berdasarkan teori Babakus dkk. (1996). Pelatihan optimisme disusun berdasarkan teori Seligman (1990). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan sales performance, baik secara keseluruhan maupun per dimensi, antara sebelum dan setelah pelatihan optimisme dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,003 (p 0,05). Perbedaan tersebut mengarah pada peningkatan skor sales performance pada masing-masing responden setelah diberikan pelatihan, sehingga dapat dikatakan pelatihan optimisme dapat meningkatkan sales performance karyawan penjualan PT. “X” Bandung. Bagi pihak perusahaan diharapkan memberikan kesempatan karyawan untuk mengembangkan perilaku dan hasil kerja, memberikan review hasil kerja dan umpan balik atas review tersebut.Kata kunci: Optimisme, sales performance, karyawan penjualan Abstract: This study aimed to determine the difference of sales performance before and after optimism training in PT. “X” Bandung. The respondent were 11 salespeople. The design used Single Group Pretest-Posttest Studies with Wilcoxon sign rank Test to analyze data. The instrument used was Sales performance Scale that conducted from Babakus et al. (1996) theory. Optimism training was conducted from Seligman (1990) theory. There was 37 valid items and the reliability coefficient was 0,919. The results showed a difference in sales performance both overall and dimension of sales performance before and after giving optimism training, with the value of signifance was 0,003 (p 0,005). This result means Sales performance increased training. It could be concluded that optimism training can improve sales performance in salespeople at PT. “X’. The company has to provide employees the opportunity to develop behavior and work results, provide a review and feedback of work.Keywords: optimism, sales performance, salespeople

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between Work-Family Conflict, Neuroticism with Work Engagement, and Burnout in teachers. Work-family conflict is a conflict between roles in work and family. The neurotic personality trait has personality traits that are easily anxious, temperamental, self-pitiful, emotional, prone to stress, and sensitive to criticism. Work engagement is a positive state of mind, while burnout is psychological fatigue that arises due to conflict or pressure at work. A purposive sampling technique was used in this study. The respondents of this study consisted of 108 high school teachers. The results of this study indicate that work-family conflict and neurotic personality have a negative relationship with work engagement. This study found that there was no relationship between work-family conflict and burnout. Furthermore, no relationship was found between neuroticism and burnout in high school teachers.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see the influence of job crafting training on employee work engagement in General Elections Commission districts Purwakarta before and after job crafting training. The sample in the study consisted twelve employees of General Elections Commission districts Purwakarta. The research used mixed methods research. The design used in this study is quasi-experimental (i.e., intervention group, N = 6, and a control group, N = 6). The research data were obtained from the UWES-17 (Utrecht Work Engagement Scale) [23]. The data processed with Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney U statistic test. This study shows that job crafting training enhances work engagement in General Elections Commission district Purwakarta. This study suggests the agencies to provide job crafting training to all employees of General Elections Commission districts Purwakarta as an effort that can be to increase work engagement.

Abstract

Karyawan yang sudah menikah akan menjalankan dua peran secara bersamaan di area kerja dan keluarga. Menjalankan beberapa peran secara bersamaan dapat memunculkan konsekuensi negatif dan positif bagi setiap individu. Penelitian tentang interaksi pekerjaan-keluarga telah mengalami perseseran dari perspektif konflik ke perspektif enrichment sehingga menumbuhkan minat pada konsekuensi work-family enrichment. Sejauh ini penelitian terkait dengan konsekuensi positif interaksi pekerjaan-keluarga belum banyak dilakukan di Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh work-family enrichment terhadap komitmen organisasi dan kepuasan pernikahan. Work-Family enrichment memiliki dua dimensi arah yaitu work to family dan family to work. Responden dari penelitian ini terdiri dari 542 karyawan yang sudah berkeluarga di Bandung. Penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya kontribusi positif dari work to family enrichment terhadap kepuasan pernikahan. Terdapat pengaruh positif family to work enrichment terhadap dimensi komitmen afektif dan normatif, namun tidak berhubungan dengan dimensi kontinuan komitmen. Saran dari hasil penelitian ini adalah memperluas sampel di kota lain sehingga menjadi penelitian dalam skala nasional dan mempertimbangkan variabel lain yang bisa berhubungan dengan komitmen organisasi terutama dimensi kontinuan. Â
