Abstract

Indonesia occupies the 4th position of the 5 main coffee producing countries in the world. Coffee plants are a high foreign exchange earner in the Indonesian economy. Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) show that Indonesia's coffee production in 2021 was the highest in the last decade, reaching 774.6 tonnes. This number increased by 2.75% from the previous year of 753.9 thousand tonnes. Coffee seed germination takes a long time due to seed dormancy. Coffee growth can be optimal with the provision of growth regulators. Good planting media can produce quality coffee seeds, because in good media there are nutrients needed by plants. The research was conducted at the Jember State Polytechnic Soil Wire House Laboratory in February-May 2022. Data were analyzed using Factorial RAK with a 5% BNJ follow-up test. The results showed that the combination treatment of planting media and natural ZPT concentrations had a significant effect on the generative growth of Robusta coffee (Coffea canephora L) including germination percentage, root length, height and seedling diameter.

Abstract

Provision of nutrients is one of the important things in plant cultivation. One of the nutrients that can be obtained from organic fertilizers. Manure is one type of organic fertilizer that can increase soil nutrients. The manure used in the media is cow and goat manure. In addition to manure, the application of Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) of lamtoro leaves can also provide nitrogen elements in the soil. The element nitrogen has good benefits for nurseries because it can accelerate vegetative growth in plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding manure media by giving lamtoro leaf POC to vanilla seeds. This research was carried out at the Jember State Polytechnic in July – November 2020. This study used a factorial randomized block design with two factors, namely the first factor was 3 types of planting media consisting of control, addition of cow kendang fertilizer and addition of cow kendang fertilizer. Then the second factor was giving lamtoro leaf liquid organic fertilizer with three levels consisting of control, 25%, and 50%.. The results showed that goat manure showed the best results in increasing shoot length, shoot diameter, leaf width and wet weight of vanilla plants. Application of liquid organic fertilizer with a concentration of 50% gave the best results for increasing shoot length, shoot diameter and wet weight of vanilla plants. Meanwhile, the interaction does not show a significant effect. Keywords:Lamtoro Leaves; Manure; POC; Vanilla plant

Abstract

SD Negeri Pace 05 Jember terletak di Dusun Sukmo Ilang RT 05 RW 25, Kecamatan Silo Kabupaten Jember. Fasilitas sekolah kurang memadai terutama kelengkapan buku yang ada diperpustakaan. Tujuan menjadikan buku sebagai media meningkatkan minat membaca siswa SD Negeri Pace 05 Jember. Metode pengumpulan data adalah wawancara dan tes uraian singkat berupa pre-test dan post-test yang berisi 7 poin pertanyaan terkait pengetahuan pengajar sekolah terhadap pentingnya buku untuk meningkatkan minat baca. Responden yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data merupakan Pengajar berjumlah 9 responden. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah rancangan pretest-posttest kelompok tunggal (one group pretest-posttest design) dengan satu jenis sasaran tanpa adanya kelompok kontrol atau pembanding. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil Kuisioner menunjukkan bahwa pengajar saat pre-Test belum bisa mengarahkan untuk menuntun siswa memahami buku dengan baik, ini terbukti saat pre-Test skor 50, setelah penyuluhan pengajar memahami bagaimana menuntun siswa memahami buku dengan skor 90. Pengajar juga memberikan penekanan pada kata penting dibuku, memberikan strategi yang baik, dan juga mengetahui kriteria buku yang baik dengan skor Post-Test skor 90. Pengajar belum bisa memaksimalkan perpustakaan, salah satu disebabkan minimnya dana sekolah untuk mengembangkan perpustakaan. Pengembangan perpustakaan pengajar dengan skor 80.

Abstract

One of the stages in the wet processing of coffee that can affect its flavor is fermentation. Fermentation is the process of removing the mucilage layer that still adheres to the coffee beans, which results in a distinctive coffee aroma and reduces caffeine content, especially in robusta coffee. After the fermentation process, packaging and storage are carried out. Storage is the stage where raw coffee beans are kept to maintain their quality until the next process. This study aims to determine the effect of fermentation duration on panelists' preference levels and the impact of storage duration on the physical quality characteristics of robusta coffee. This research employs both quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. The results show that storage duration does not affect the physical quality characteristics of robusta coffee beans. The moisture content parameter after storage was found to be 12.2%, the density parameter averaged 0.691 gr/ml, and the defect value parameter fell into grade 3. The study also shows that different fermentation durations do not significantly affect the panelists' preference levels, with an average score of 3-4,1.
