Abstract

The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) can protect against exposure to the COVID-19 virus, but on the other hand it causes an increase in the generation of plastic waste. The amount of COVID-19 PPE waste is estimated at 1.6 million tons per day with masks or face shields worth 3.4 billion per day. The urgency of handling PPE waste is not only due to the volume of waste, but also the nature of the virus that survives on solid surfaces. This publication aims to provide a systematic review of PPE waste management in Indonesia, both from health facilities and households. Good practices from abroad are explored to see the potential for developing PPE waste management in Indonesia. The search results provide 38 articles, namely 21 national articles and 17 international articles. PPE waste management in Indonesia and abroad in general is separation, disinfection, collection/temporary storage, transportation, and final disposal (incineration/sterilization/landfill). 3R practice improvement (reuse, reduce, recycle) can create sustainable PPE waste management, for example, the use of environmentally friendly materials, reuse PPE after sterilization to increase lifetime or conversion of PPE waste into raw materials.

Abstract

Abstract — The promising potential of the perfume market in Indonesia and the ease of entry have led to the emergence of perfume replenishment small and medium enterprises (SMEs), one of which is De ISI Parfum. Like SMEs in general, De ISI Parfum struggles with manual sales and inventory systems, especially due to large amount of inventory (>445 items). The issues are human error, data tracking, synchronization of sales and inventory data, and reporting time. This service is aimed at developing a Point of Sales (POS) system to record sales and control inventory at De ISI Parfum. The implementation of the service consisted of three phases, namely problem identification and needs analysis, development, and training of the POS system. Business process mapping and interrelationship diagram were used to identify weaknesses in the business processes and the needs of De ISI Parfum. The development of a web-based POS includes a menu for the management of employee data, members, suppliers, master items, inventory control, promotions, purchase, sales and operational transactions. It can also provide revenue and profit and loss reporting. The impacts of the service are reducing administrative time for recapitulating sales data, monitoring inventory to make purchase decisions, and monitoring operational activities. Keywords — point of sales, perfume, computer-based information system, inventory recording, sales reporting. Pengembangan sistem point of sales berbasis web mencakup menu pengelolaan data karyawan, member, supplier, master barang termasuk cek stok barang, promo, transaksi pembelian, penjualan, dan operasional. Kata Kunci—point of sales, parfum, sistem informasi berbasis komputer, pencatatan inventori, pencatatan penjualan.

Abstract

The furniture industry is continuously innovating to produce the best products, with buyers' preferences related to function, quality, and design. Companies need to optimize machine cycle times and reformulate production time durations to increase productivity s. Lead time needs to be optimized to anticipate order fulfillment until the transaction is completed on time. Standard time is critical to setting production targets, budgets, product cost estimates, machine requirements, and determining standard operator wages in measuring productivity efficiency. Companies in the garden furniture sector need to calculate standard time in their production processes, particularly in the RST (Raw Saw Tinder) processing stage, to achieve timely production targets and avoid potential losses. Productivity analysis in the production area of the RST processing stage is carried out by calculating the standard time of the bandsaw and cross-cut or radial arm saw machines. The research is conducted through the motion study measurement, uniformity and sufficiency testing of data, and normal and standard time calculations to determine the required duration for each production stage. The time study measurement results and standard time calculations for the 18 work elements show that the standard time in the RST processing stage is 4.92 minutes or equivalent to 12 units/hour, which means the company can ideally produce 88 units of products per day.

Abstract

Tomo Film is a company in Yogyakarta that sells all kinds of necessities for analog photography, especially roll-film. The roll-film procurement system at Tomo Film came from 2 sources, namely import and local. The main source was from imported film rolls. However, bringing in imported roll- film to meet consumer needs can only be done in 1st and 3rd quarters. This issue caused the sales volume being fluctuate in each quarter. The aim of this research was to improve marketing strategies to increase sales of local film rolls. By using Product Life Cycle calculations it was found that this company was in the decline stage. Furthermore, using the AHP method, priority solutions to problems were obtained. The chosen marketing strategy was a Pop Up Store with an excess stock of local roll-film based on questionnaires which were distributed to 100 respondents who were members of the Yogyakarta Analog Camera Community (ANALOG). The results of the implementation in the form of a Pop Up Store which was carried out for 2 days, demonstrated that sales of local roll-film increased by 39 pieces (32.42%).
