Abstract

Background: It is a common fact that the rapid development of technology influenced many aspects of the world, including mass communication. Television, as the most popular and familiar broadcast media in Indonesia, has experienced several changes due to the presence of advanced technology. One of the significant transformations is the transition from analog to digital broadcasting systems. The new era of digital broadcasting could improve the performance and quality of digital television itself. Purpose: This recent study aimed to obtain an overview of the realization carried out by one of the local private broadcasting institutions in Banten, JPM TV. Methods: Using a qualitative case study along with in-depth interviews and observation as data collection techniques, this study examines JPM TV from various aspects in realizing digital TV broadcasts in Banten Province. Results: The study’s findings highlighted that JPM TV strives to realize digital broadcasting by gradually replacing equipment with tools that support digital broadcasting and elements of human resources trained and prepared with special internal and external training. JPM TV also collaborated with LPPM (Mix Broadcasting Organizing Agency), namely Mix Metro TV. The ongoing process is coordinated with the government. Obstacles faced during the migration process are the socioeconomic conditions of the people who have not been able to support the digital broadcasting process, which is characterized by the difficulty of obtaining digital broadcasting at relatively low prices; besides that, it is also necessary to increase the capacity of Human Resources (HR) so that television shows are more comfortable to watch. Implications: One of the implications is that the government must innovate to provide incentives that can stimulate the readiness of the digital broadcasting ecosystem.

Abstract

Public Library of Cimahi City is to provide information needs for the users from Cimahi City and users from other city. The Public Library of Cimahi City has collections and library equipment that must be maintained and cared for so that they are not damaged and consumed over time, as well as the building where the collections are stored. It is necessary to pay attention to the continuity of the library service. So in library activities, it is necessary to have preservation activities to maintain collections and equipment in the library. This study aims to have a comprehensive description of preservation activities at the Public Library of Cimahi City which are divided into three stages, namely preventive, curative, and restorative. The method used is descriptive qualitative, by collecting data through observation, interviews and documentation. This study uses triangulation technique to test the validity and analysis techniques of thematic data for data analysis. The informants were librarians at the Public Library of Cimahi City. The results showed that the preservation process at the Cimahi City Public Library had not been fully implemented. The Public Library of Cimahi City focuses more on preventive activities, such as installing air conditioners to maintain humidity and room temperature; installing curtains on glass windows to prevent sunlight from hitting the collection; and perform cleaning and maintenance on every element of the library. Meanwhile, curative and restorative preservation activities at the Public Library of Cimahi City are still lacking when compared to preservation standards carried out by other libraries, which have only been implemented through collection repair activities (binding, gluing and using adhesive), and room renovation. So it can be concluded that the Public Library of Cimahi City needs to pay more attention to preservation activities so that every element that supports the sustainability of the Public Library of Cimahi City can be preserved.

Abstract

Introduction. Ancient manuscripts are one of the nation's many cultural heritages with historical significance. As a result, conservation measures must be implemented, one of which is the transfer of digital media. The purpose of this study is to learn about the efforts made to transfer Gandoang ancient manuscripts to Ciamis. Data Collection Methods. This study employs a qualitative case study approach, with data collected through observation techniques and semi-structured interviews with three informants. Data Analysis. Through Miles and Hubberman data analysis techniques; researchers organize, organize, and categorize them. Result and Discussion. The findings of this study indicate that, as part of the management's effort to preserve the Gandoang ancient manuscripts in collaboration with Tapak Karuhun Nusantara Foundation, converting them into a digital form into an e-book can be considered effective and efficient. The ancient manuscripts in this fragile state can now be preserved, allowing their existence to be used for a long time. Conclusion. Because of the internet, which allows everyone to read it wherever and whenever they want, the Gandoang e-book has proven to be more popular in the public. However, many ancient manuscripts in the Ciamis still require the attention of various parties due to their endangered state.

Abstract

In line with the rapid development of the times, both in the fields of knowledge and technology, the role of leaders must be alert and understand new things in order to be able to provide innovation for the running of an organization. School principals have an important role in moving teachers, staff and students to follow changing developments in the 21st century. This research aims to determine the role and strategies of school principals in leading schools effectively in the 21st century, find out what competencies and characteristics school principals must have in leading schools in the 21st century, and find out the challenges faced by school principals in implementing their leadership in the 21st century. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach. Data sources were taken from various relevant articles discussing leadership in general and leadership in the school environment. The results of the analysis show that the principal as a leader must have an attitude and character that reflects the spirit of a firm leader and can bring about significant development of school culture. With the role of the school principal as a driving force, it is hoped that changes can be made for schools in terms of teacher professionalism, learning curriculum, and students' abilities towards 21st century learning. The results of this research can be used as initial data for future researchers in studying this problem in different contexts and issues.

Abstract

Perpustakaan memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam memberikan dukungan pendidikan bagi masyarakat.. Perpustakaan Pitimoss adalah perpustakaan modern yang juga dikenal sebagai taman bacaan. Perpustakaan ini berdiri atas dasar cinta mendalam para pendirinya terhadap dunia literasi dan buku. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah fungsi manajemen yang ada di Perpustakaan Pitimoss ini telah menerapkan fungsi manajemen dengan baik dan tepat sesuai aturan Lembaga perpustakaan sebagaimanan mestinya.. Tujuan dari dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah Perpustakaan Pitimoss ini telah menerapkan fungsi manajemen dengan baik dan tepat sesuai aturan Lembaga perpustakaan sebagaimanan mestinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini fokus pada pemahaman mendalam tentang karakteristik, aspek-aspek, konteks, dan makna dari fenomena yang diteliti. Hasil dari penelitian deskriptif kualitatif disajikan dalam bentuk laporan penelitian yang berisi narasi dan interpretasi mengenai temuan-temuan yang ditemukan selama proses penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah Perpustakaan Pitimoss belum sepenuhnya menerapkan fungsi manajemen menurut George Robert Terry dengan baik. Salah satu fungsinya adalah fungsi pengorganisasian yang di mana masih kurang begitu jelas mengenai transparansinya.

Abstract

A library is an institution or work unit that has an essential role in providing access to information, education, research, and recreation for the community. This community service analyzes the library development strategy at SMP Negeri 9 Bandung through the implementation of the Non-Educational Professional Strengthening Program (P3NK). This program is designed to actively engage students in library management actively, enhancing service quality and the professionalism of library staff. Through student participation, the program also aims to introduce various innovations, improve operational efficiency, and enhance user-centered services. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through interviews, direct observation, and documentation studies. The findings revealed that the P3NK program successfully improved various aspects of library services, including collection management, digitization processes, and the development of literacy activities. The program also had a positive impact on enhancing the competencies of library staff, optimizing the use of technology, and creating a more interactive and conducive learning environment for students. Close collaboration between students, librarians, and teachers emerged as a key factor in the successful implementation of this program. The community services conclude that the P3NK program can serve as an effective strategic model for developing school libraries that are more dynamic, innovative, and aligned with the demands of education in the 21st-century digital era.   Abstrak Perpustakaan adalah lembaga atau unit kerja yang memiliki peran penting dalam menyediakan akses terhadap informasi, pendidikan, penelitian, dan rekreasi bagi masyarakat. Pengabdian ini menganalisis strategi pengembangan perpustakaan di SMP Negeri 9 Bandung melalui implementasi Program Penguatan Profesional Non-Kependidikan (P3NK). Program ini dirancang untuk melibatkan peserta didik secara aktif dalam pengelolaan perpustakaan dengan tujuan meningkatkan kualitas layanan serta profesionalisme staf perpustakaan. Melalui partisipasi peserta didik, program ini juga bertujuan memperkenalkan berbagai inovasi, meningkatkan efisiensi operasional, dan memperkuat layanan berbasis kebutuhan pengguna. Metode pengabdian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan data yang diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi langsung, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil pengabdian mengungkapkan bahwa Program P3NK berhasil meningkatkan berbagai aspek layanan perpustakaan, seperti manajemen koleksi, proses digitalisasi, dan pengembangan kegiatan literasi. Program ini juga berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan kompetensi staf perpustakaan, optimalisasi pemanfaatan teknologi, serta terciptanya lingkungan belajar yang interaktif dan kondusif bagi peserta didik. Kolaborasi erat antara peserta didik, pustakawan, dan pendidik menjadi faktor utama dalam keberhasilan implementasi program ini. Kesimpulan dari pengabdian ini adalah bahwa Program P3NK dapat dijadikan model strategis yang efektif untuk mengembangkan perpustakaan sekolah yang lebih dinamis, inovatif, dan relevan dengan tuntutan pendidikan di era digital abad ke-21. Abstract

Kapasitas guru dalam mengintegrasikan isu lingkungan ke dalam kurikulum, masih menjadi kendala utama bagi guru sekolah menengah di Kabupaten Garut untuk menghadapi tantangan lingkungan yang rentan terhadap dampak perubahan iklim. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas guru sekolah menengah di Garut dalam menyusun dan mengintegrasikan kurikulum berbasis literasi lingkungan melalui program pendampingan yang terstruktur. Metode pengabdian yang dilakukan adalah dengan pendampingan dan pelatihan. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan secara statistik pada pengetahuan guru mengenai konsep literasi lingkungan dan strategi implementasinya di kelas. Guru dengan literasi lingkungan yang lebih tinggi lebih mampu untuk mengembangkan materi ajar yang relevan, mendorong diskusi kritis mengenai isu-isu lingkungan di kelas, dan menjadi teladan bagi murid dalam menerapkan gaya hidup berkelanjutan. Pendampingan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep literasi lingkungan, peran guru dan sekolah, serta implementasi pada pembelajaran menjadi fondasi strategis untuk memperkuat implementasi CCE di tingkat sekolah sebagai upaya meningkatkan literasi lingkungan, karena guru yang kompeten adalah kunci utama dalam mencetak generasi muda yang sadar dan peduli terhadap tantangan lingkungan. Pendampingan yang terfokus merupakan strategi efektif untuk menjembatani kebijakan pendidikan lingkungan dengan praktik nyata di sekolah, serta menjadi fondasi penting dalam mempersiapkan generasi yang lebih responsif terhadap tantangan ekologis lokal.
