Abstract

Health services in Papua face several challenges, especially in service quality. The only and highest referral hospital in the entire Papua region is RSUD Dok II Jayapura. This quantitative research seeks to prove the influence of service quality (X) on patient satisfaction (Y). The research sample comprised 95 patients selected based on the incidental sampling method. Data was analyzed using multiple linear regression techniques to prove the simultaneous and partial influence of service quality variables (physical evidence, guarantee, responsiveness, empathy, and reliability) on satisfaction. Before the regression test, a classical assumption test was carried out to test the data's normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity. The research results explain the significant simultaneous influence of service quality on satisfaction. Partially, the variables empathy (X4) and reliability (X5) have a substantial effect on satisfaction (Y). Meanwhile, the variables physical evidence (X1), guarantee (X2), and responsiveness (X3) were found not to influence satisfaction (Y).

Abstract

The practice of tourism villages in Indonesia applies the principle of Community Based Tourism. This study occurred in Tobati and Doyo Lama tourist villages in Jayapura, Papua. Notably, these two villages won the Indonesian Tourism Village Award in 2022. The purpose of this study is to describe community participation in tourism management in Jayapura. In general, tourism in Papua is located on customary land; therefore, its management is dominated by customary structures. Researchers want to provide a complete picture of the factors influencing community participation. The study aimed to examine the influence of the variables of economic benefits (X1), tourism resources (X2), social capital (X3), community influence (X4), and mechanisms and policies (X5) on community participation (Y). The study refers to instruments tested by Mai et al.. Using a multiple linear regression model, the researcher wanted to demonstrate the simultaneous and partial influence of variable X. The results of the study showed a significant simultaneous influence of the five factors (X1, X2, X3, X4, X5) on participation (Y). However, different partial influences were found in the two villages. In Tobati, tourism resources were the only variable that had a significant influence, while in Doyo Lama, tourism resources, social capital, and community influence significantly influenced participation. The findings at both sites showed variables with no influence, variables with a positive influence, and variables with a negative influence. Tourism managers in Tobati and Doyo Lama villages need to pay attention to the participation aspect in managing their tourism.

Abstract

Sanitation facilities are a fundamental element that contributes to creating a healthy, comfortable, and productive learning environment in higher education institutions. This study aims to describe the availability of sanitation facilities in the Office Administration Management Study Program, analyze the factors that influence their condition, and explore the perspectives of the academic community regarding their quality and usefulness. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The informants of this study consisted of students, lecturers, administrative staff, and facility managers. The findings reveal that sanitation facilities such as toilets, sinks, and trash bins remain inadequate in terms of quantity, physical condition, and distribution within the campus area. Several key challenges were identified, including limited financial resources, suboptimal management practices, low awareness and discipline among users, and the absence of clear and strict institutional policies related to sanitation standards. The academic community generally perceives that the available sanitation facilities do not meet the expected standards of comfort and hygiene, which may negatively affect the quality of learning experiences and academic activities. This study highlights the importance of strategic planning, adequate budget allocation, and supportive institutional policies in improving the quality of sanitation facilities. The implications of the study are expected to provide valuable input for higher education managers in formulating policies and planning facilities that are more responsive to the needs of the academic community, thereby supporting effective, professional, and sustainable educational governance.

Abstract

One of the community service activities that can be implemented by universities is the Field Work Lecture (KKL) program. The KKL program offers many positive benefits, including the opportunity to gain direct experience related to real-world work practices. We, along with fellow Office Administration Management students, were given the opportunity to carry out the KKL in Supiori Regency, specifically in North Supiori District, Warbor Village. The selection of Warbor Village as the KKL location was based on the desire to gain practical knowledge directly about administrative activities, as well as to be able to make a real contribution to the local community. In addition, this program also aims to strengthen good relations between students and the Warbor Village community. Through this KKL, students can better understand the application of theories learned in college in the context of the real world of work, and play an active role in helping solve problems in the community, especially in the field of administration. This activity is also expected to have a positive impact on the surrounding community and increase students' understanding of the important role of administration in everyday life.

Abstract

Abar Village is the only traditional pottery-producing village in Sentani that still survives today. This craft not only has economic value but also embodies the historical, social, and cultural values of the Sentani indigenous people. Amidst technological developments and the onslaught of modern products, Abar pottery continues to be produced using traditional methods passed down through generations, utilizing natural raw materials available around Lake Sentani. This uniqueness makes Abar pottery a cultural heritage worthy of preservation. However, the craftsmen face serious challenges, particularly in the areas of promotion and marketing, which are still very limited. Limited access to information, marketing networks, and the use of digital media are factors that hinder the development of Abar pottery businesses in a wider market. This community service program is designed to empower traditional pottery artisans in Abar Village, Jayapura Regency, with a focus on improving marketing knowledge and skills. Training activities include an introduction to modern marketing strategies, the use of social media for product promotion, product photography techniques, and the development of marketing narratives that highlight the cultural value and uniqueness of Abar pottery. The methods used included classical training, group discussions, and direct mentoring in creating promotional content. Initial results indicate an increase in artisans' understanding of marketing strategies and practical skills in utilizing digital platforms. Some artisans have begun implementing photography techniques and creating social media accounts to market their products. This program is expected to encourage the development of traditional pottery businesses, improve the welfare of the Abar Village community, and preserve its social and cultural values. The program's success could serve as a model for empowering a creative economy based on local wisdom in other regions.
