Abstract

Each installation in the hospital must continue to evaluate, improvement, and develop, including the pharmacy installation. Pharmacy installations as one of the medical support services in hospitals are required to improve the quality of their services on an ongoing basis. This study aims to see, the root of the problem, and provide evaluation and improvement for the reading of critical waste in the inpatient pharmacy service process of Kabupaten Karanganyar Hospital. This study uses a non-experimental research design and was descriptive qualitative in nature. Data techniques in qualitative and quantitative research. The value of patient data was obtained from distributing questionnaires. The pharmaceutical service process was obtained from observation and document review, then mapping in the form of value stream mapping. The determination of waste was obtained from distributing questionnaires and in-depth interviews with the 5 why method. The results of the reasearch show critical waste on inpatient service in pharmacy installation is waste defect and waste waiting. The root cause of critical waste is the prescription of drugs by doctors outside the formulary and the root cause of waiting for waste is a prescription from the hospital admission at the same time. The proposed improvement for the cause of critical waste is Monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the formularium on an going basis, provide special software to enter patient data, and implement the use of electronic prescribing to shorten the service process time.

Abstract

The high number of internet users has an impact on the development of trade transaction models from conventional to electronic or online, known as e-commerce. The web-based or e-commerce business action plan in Indonesian regulations is called trading through electronic systems (PMSE). This study aimed to find out the implementation of BPOM regulation No 8 of 2020 concerning online drug distribution in 4 pharmacies in Purworejo Regency, Indonesia. This research is an observational study with a qualitative approach using information-gathering techniques through perception directly and meetings with several sources or witnesses related to this check. At the data analysis stage, the results of the interviews will be used as material for analyzed thematically by looking at and connecting with the problem formulation and research purposes. Interview data were analyzed using NVIVO 12 pro software. The implementation of BPOM Regulation No. 8 of 2020 related to the circulation of drugs distributed online in 4 pharmacies in Purworejo Regency has been running with a percentage of 79.55% in accordance with and 20.45% not in accordance with existing regulations. The implementation of BPOM Regulation No. 8 of 2020 concerning the Circulation of Drugs Distributed Online in pharmacies in Purworejo Regency has a significant impact on the supervision and safety of drug circulation through online platforms or e-commerce. In conclusion, based on the provisions contained in BPOM Regulation No. 8 of 2020 related to the circulation of drugs distributed online, most of the regulations have been implemented in the 4 pharmacies but improvements are still needed in the media used.

Abstract

Lean approach is a method used to analyze value-added and non-value-added activities with the aim of minimizing or eliminating the waste that happens in an institution. The purpose of this research is to identify waste and find the root cause of waste that occurred in the outpatient pharmacy installation at the Simo General Hospital. This research method is non-experimental descriptive research with a qualitative descriptive exploratory approach through questionnaires, observation, and in-depth interviews with respondents. The analysis of this research is the observation of the service process flow with value stream mapping, distributing questionnaires, Borda method to search waste critically, 5why interviews to find the root cause of waste criticism and suggestions for solving problems. The results showed that the critical waste that occurred was waste waiting with a percentage value of 23.41%. The root cause of waste waiting is the accumulation of prescription queues at the preparation, dispensing delivery of drugs, and PIO stages due to a lack of pharmaceutical technical personnel. The proposed improvement in waste waiting is to increase the number of pharmacy officers by first calculating the workload.
