Abstract

This study examines the influence of Akang Arfan Abdullah Syafi'i's interpretation of Sufism within the Judatul Uqba Pesantren in Sukabumi, West Java. The research focuses on how Syafi'i's Sufism has resonated with and attracted a significant following among the local community, encouraging them to engage deeply with Sufi practices in their daily lives. This phenomenon is evidenced by the extensive participation in Sufi recitations and the growth of the Yā Wakῑl congregation across Indonesia. Employing a qualitative descriptive methodology, the study gathers data through observation, interviews, and documentary analysis. Central to Syafi'i's teaching is the concept of 'wushūl'—a spiritual connection to Allah SWT, facilitated through 'dzikr' (remembrance of Allah) and acts of charity. These practices are seen as dual pathways: 'dzikr' connects an individual to Allah (habl min Allah), while charity fosters interpersonal bonds (habl min an-Nās). The balance between these spiritual and social dimensions is posited as crucial for the cultivation of Islamic virtues and the attainment of the 'insān kāmil' or the perfect human being.

Abstract

Understanding learners' characteristics is fundamental to creating an effective and inclusive learning process. This research aims to explore learners' various cognitive, physical, emotional, social, and cultural aspects, which affect how they learn and interact. The method used is a literature study that collects information from various sources, such as books, journals, and related articles. The results show that an in-depth understanding of learners' characteristics allows educators to design more effective teaching strategies that suit individual needs. These characteristics include learning styles, cognitive abilities, and social and emotional factors contributing to successful learning. The research also highlights the importance of creating a learning environment that supports students' well-being and encourages the development of their academic and non-academic potential.

Abstract

This article discusses the nature of learning and instruction as the foundation of education. Research shows that learning is a complex process involving behavior, knowledge, attitudes, skills, and values ​​that change through experience and social interaction. This article aims to understand the differences between learning and instruction and their educational interrelationships. Instruction is a systematic process designed to support learning activities, in which the teacher acts as a facilitator and motivator. The method used is a literature review that analyzes various learning theories, such as behaviorist, cognitive, constructivist, and humanistic, which assist in the design of effective instruction. The research findings emphasize the importance of basic principles in learning, such as individuality, motivation, material relevance, student engagement, and formative evaluation. This article also highlights the importance of a supportive learning environment, effective communication between teachers and students, and innovative learning strategies. Recommendations include training for educators to create an optimal environment for students.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the potential of pluralism in Pakutandang Village as a model for managing diversity in Indonesia. The pluralism in Pakutandang Village is observed through the diversity of religions, ethnicities, cultures, and professions of its community. Using a descriptive qualitative research approach and data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, this study addresses two research questions: first, what are the binding factors of harmony, and second, what are the characteristics of peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Penghayat Kebatinan Perjalanan. The study finds that there are three binding factors of harmony: the ideology of Pancasila, the values of diversity, and religion (belief). The characteristics of peaceful coexistence in Pakutandang Village include: living together harmoniously, learning to recognize differences, establishing good relationships between individuals or groups, and practicing tolerance, mutual respect, and resolving conflicts without violence. The conclusion of this study is that diversity can create harmonious, tolerant, inclusive, and peaceful conditions among various differences, which is expected to become a new model in managing diversity in Indonesia.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali potensi pluralitas di Desa Pakutandang sebagai model dalam praktik pengelolaan keberagaman di Indonesia. Pluralitas di Desa Pakutandang ditinjau dari keberagaman agama, etnis, budaya, dan profesi masyarakatnya. Dengan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi, penelitian ini menjawab dua pertanyaan utama: pertama, apa faktor perekat kerukunan, dan kedua, bagaimana karakteristik koeksistensi damai antara umat Islam dan penghayat Kebatinan Perjalanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga faktor perekat kerukunan, yaitu: ideologi Pancasila, nilai kebhinekaan, dan agama (kepercayaan). Adapun karakteristik kehidupan damai di Desa Pakutandang meliputi: hidup bersama secara harmonis, belajar mengenali perbedaan, terjalinnya hubungan baik antar individu atau kelompok, serta toleransi, saling menghormati, dan penyelesaian konflik tanpa kekerasan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa keberagaman mampu menciptakan kondisi harmonis, toleran, inklusif, dan rukun antar berbagai perbedaan, yang diharapkan dapat menjadi pola baru dalam pengelolaan keberagaman di Indonesia.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the religious expression practiced by one of the religious communities in Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency, namely the At-Tauhid Community. There are two things that are the focus of this study, namely the doctrine and religious behavior of the At-Tawhid community. This study used the ethnographic method; the data in this study were sourced from ethnographic field notes and in-depth interviews, which were then analyzed according to the stages of ethnographic research. This study showed that the At-Tauhid as a community believe that they firmly adhere to the principle of monotheism toward Allah SWT in order for humans to recognize His oneness. This principle is manifested through various worship ritual practices, starting with Tirakat, Zikr, recitation, and Ziarah. Furthermore, in the context of religious doctrine and behavior, community leaders reinterpret, which manifests itself in several behavioral concepts and rituals that lead to efforts in implementing the concept of Tauhid to Allah SWT.AbstrakArtikel ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap tentang ekspresi keberagamaan yang dipraktikkan oleh salah satu komunitas keagamaan yang terdapat di Desa Pasirlangu Kecamatan Cisarua Kabupaten Bandung Barat, yaitu Komunitas At-Tauhid. Terdapat dua hal yang menjadi fokus kajian ini yaitu bagaimana doktrin dan perilaku keagamaan komunitas At-Tauhid. Kajian ini menggunakan metode etnografi, data dalam kajian ini bersumber dari catatan lapangan dan wawancara mendalam yang kemudian dianalisis sesuai tahapan penelitian etnografi. Kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa komunitas ini memegang kuat prinsip tauhid kepada Allah SWT agar manusia mengenal keesaan-Nya. Prinsip tersebut dimanifestasikan melalui berbagai praktik ritual peribadatan mulai dari tirakat, zikir, pengajian, dan ziarah. Di samping itu, dalam konteks doktrin dan perilaku keagamaan, terdapat pemaknaan ulang yang dilakukan oleh tokoh dari komunitas yang kemudian memanifestasi dalam beberapa konsep perilaku dan ritual yang bermuara pada upaya mengesakan Allah SWT.
