Abstract

Beberapa tahun belakangan, dampak perubahan iklim begitu dirasakan mengalami peningkatan.

Abstract

The preparation of this paper is a form of implementation related to the paper entitled Navigating Amid Uncertainty in Spatial Planning by Zandvoort, M., and friends in 2017. The paper contains the form of uncertainty faced by planners in the planning process. Uncertainty is divided into 3 types, namely ontic uncertainty which does not know a phenomenon to a certain degree, while epistemic uncertainty is a phenomenon that can be known to a certain level, and ambiguity uncertainty is knowledge and different perceptions of a phenomenon. One form of uncertainty that occurs in planning is climate change. The phenomenon of climate change is a phenomenon caused by human activities either directly or indirectly. This activity triggers changes in the composition of gases in the atmosphere within a certain time. The countermeasures are in the form of mitigation and adaptation measures. One form of climate change mitigation and adaptation is the utilization of biogas. Biogas is a gas that comes from anaerobic activity (fermentation) from organic materials such as animal manure. The state of Indonesia has a large number of livestock and of course, produces manure. If left unchecked it will become pollution. For that, it needs processing to become something useful. Biogas has benefits as a new energy that can be utilized. Besides that, biogas can fight the greenhouse effect, which triggers climate change. In Indonesia, not all provinces where people process livestock manure into biogas for daily use.

Abstract

This research stems from a growing concern regarding the vulnerability of Cirebon City, particularly the Harjamukti District, toward disasters that often bypass grassroots preparedness. My primary focus was to question the actual readiness of houses of worship as vital communal hubs. Using a quantitative descriptive approach via the Slovin formula, I gathered data from 47 multi-religious sites. The findings reveal a compelling dilemma: while risk knowledge and human resource capacity appear adequate, emergency planning and early warning systems remain alarmingly neglected. This suggests a significant gap between theoretical understanding and technical execution on the ground. Consequently, strengthening the institutional framework of these religious centers must become a policy priority for the BPBD. Future studies should further scrutinize the effectiveness of regular disaster simulations within these sacred spaces.

Abstract

Cirebon is a coastal city rich in cultural heritage, particularly colonial-era buildings documented since the 15th century. Despite this historical wealth, no Regional Regulation specifically governs the management of strategic colonial heritage areas. The absence of such regulation leaves these sites vulnerable to damage from urban development and disasters, especially floods. This study aims to identify the potential of colonial heritage in Lemahwungkuk District for tourism while ensuring resilience to flooding. Using a mixed-methods approach, descriptive statistical analysis was applied through building observation with spider web graphs, combined with flood potential modeling using geospatial analysis to map vulnerability levels. The findings were triangulated with expert interviews. Results revealed that many heritage buildings are located in areas of very high flood risk, influenced by low soil permeability, dense building structures, and proximity to the Kriyan and Sipadu rivers. Observations also showed several buildings in poor condition, abandoned, or heavily damaged, increasing vulnerability. For development into a sustainable tourist area, further studies are required to assess flood and structural risks comprehensively. This should be supported by cross-sectoral coordination and improved drainage infrastructure to protect cultural assets.

Abstract

This community service activity, conducted by the Literacy-Thematic KKN students of Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati at SDN 2 Karangwangi, aimed to improve students’ reading interest through structured literacy programs. Initial observations showed limited facilities, including the absence of a proper library, insufficient book collections, and an unrealized reading corner, while the School Literacy Movement (GLS) was not optimally implemented. To overcome these challenges, several activities were carried out such as writing stories inspired by books, book reviews, reading aloud, literacy-based projects, village literacy competitions, school literacy visits, and the establishment of a reading corner. The implementation of these programs increased students’ enthusiasm for reading and encouraged them to utilize available facilities. Furthermore, the activities fostered students’ creativity, as reflected in their literary works displayed on the reading corner board. The program also motivated the school to sustain literacy initiatives by appointing a responsible teacher and planning future improvements

Abstract

Amid the risk of natural disasters, sustainable tourism development requires mitigation efforts capable of ensuring the safety of the area while supporting the community’s economic activities. The Trusmi Batik Area in Cirebon Regency, as a cultural tourism destination, faces the threat of flooding that has the potential to disrupt tourism activities, the batik trade, and community life. This study aims to develop a flood disaster mitigation strategy that can be implemented in the Trusmi Batik Area to reduce disaster risks and support the sustainability of tourism and trade activities in the region. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach through field observations and in-depth interviews with community leaders, batik business owners, and relevant agencies. The analysis indicates that flooding in the Trusmi Batik Area is influenced by physical factors such as high rainfall, a relatively concave topography, the proximity of residential areas to rivers, and inadequate drainage capacity, as well as non-physical factors such as land-use changes, low public awareness regarding environmental cleanliness, and suboptimal drainage management. Based on these findings, a disaster-mitigation-based tourism development strategy was formulated. It includes periodic drainage normalization and maintenance; environmental education and community cooperation; the provision of trash bins; the addition of green open spaces and infiltration wells; riverbank management; land-use control; and the strengthening of the Disaster-Resilient Village Program (Destana) through training and disaster simulations. This strategy is expected to reduce flood risks while supporting the development of the Trusmi Batik Area as a safer, more resilient, and sustainable tourism destination.

Abstract

Coastal areas are dynamic transition zones, experiencing continuous physical changes due to the interaction between natural processes and anthropogenic activities. As a coastal area on the north coast of Java, Cirebon City faces serious challenges related to shoreline dynamics influenced by sedimentation, abrasion, infrastructure development, and land use changes. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of shoreline change in Cirebon City during the period 2010–2025 using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and remote sensing. This study applied a mixed-method approach that integrates spatial quantitative analysis and qualitative descriptive analysis. Multitemporal satellite imagery from Landsat 7 (2010 and 2015) and Sentinel-2 (2020 and 2025) was processed using the Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI) algorithm to extract shoreline positions. Furthermore, the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) method with End Point Rate (EPR) calculations was applied to determine the rate and spatial distribution of abrasion and accretion. The results of the study indicate that the Cirebon City coastline experienced significant spatial changes during the 15 years of observation, with accretion processes dominating most coastal segments. The average rate of shoreline change reached 5.66 meters/year, with the highest accretion rate of 40.95 meters/year and maximum abrasion of -4.63 meters/year. The most prominent changes occurred in Lemahwungkuk District, primarily due to sedimentation processes and anthropogenic activities such as coastal reclamation and port development. These findings confirm that the integration of GIS, remote sensing, and field observations provides an effective approach to monitoring shoreline dynamics and supporting sustainable coastal management planning in urban areas.

Abstract

he Disaster-Resilient Neighborhood Program (KALTANA) is one of the Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction (CBDRR) strategies developed by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) to enhance community capacity in facing disaster threats. Meanwhile, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) identify disaster resilience as a key aspect of achieving sustainable development. The KALTANA Program has been implemented in 12 neighborhoods in Cirebon City; however, the extent to which its implementation supports the achievement of relevant SDG goals and targets still requires evaluation. This study aims to assess the level of implementation and gaps in the KALTANA Program in supporting the achievement of relevant SDGs at the neighborhood level in Cirebon City. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, document analysis, and a literature review. Analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, assessment of the implementation level of KALTANA indicators, and an analysis of gaps relative to relevant SDG targets. The results indicate that the implementation of the KALTANA Program in Cirebon City has been carried out across the entire study area. However, the level of implementation is not yet uniform. Differences in implementation are influenced by institutional capacity, the availability of disaster-related facilities and infrastructure, community participation, and the continuity of program guidance. The implementation of KALTANA indicators contributes to supporting several SDGs, particularly SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 13 (Climate Action). However, there remains a gap between the actual implementation conditions on the ground and the sustainable development targets. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen coordination among stakeholders, enhance capacity, and provide continuous program guidance so that the implementation of KALTANA can make a more optimal contribution to achieving the SDGs at the urban village level.

Abstract

The increase in built-up areas in the Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Street Corridor in Cirebon City has caused a lack of water absorption areas, thus increased surface runoff and potentially caused puddles. This condition indicates the need for the implementation of green infrastructure as an effort to manage rainwater sustainably. This study aims to analyze the potential for implementing Bioretention and Rain Garden based on the level of land suitability in the research area. The method used is a spatial quantitative method with primary data from field observations and secondary data obtained from BPBD, PUPR, and BIG. The analysis was carried out using a Geographic Information System (GIS). Land suitability analysis uses the Weighted Overlay method based on land use parameters, soil type, and slope gradient. The results show that the Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Street Corridor in Cirebon City is dominated by trade and service areas with a fairly high level of runoff. Based on the Weighted Overlay analysis, most of the research area is included in the suitable class for the implementation of Bioretention and Rain Garden. The application of both types of green infrastructure has the potential to reduce surface runoff, increase infiltration and support sustainable urban drainage management in Cirebon City.
