Abstract

In today's rapidly growing internet era, humans are required to be able to adapt to change, like how to communicate. Courageous communication can be done through social media such as Instagram, Whatsapp, Facebook, etc. Instagram itself is not only used by individuals but by agencies/companies as well. One agency that uses Instagram social media is the Palembang City Tourism Office. Instagram is used as a forum for communicating and sharing information about tourism promotions in the city of Palembang. Currently the Palembang City Tourism Office's Instagram account @charming.palembang is still not proven effective due to the lack of two-way communication and responses from readers (likes, comments, shares, etc.). Therefore, it is necessary to measure social media acceptance using the UTAUT model with a sample of 126 people who are followers of the Instagram account @charming.palembang. Then, the data is processed using the SmartPLS application. Results showed that PE and SI had a significant relationship with BI but EE did not. Meanwhile, BI has a significant relationship with UB but FC did not. For the moderating variables, gender, age, and experience alone do not moderate the relationship between the existing independent and dependent variables.

Abstract

Obesity and overweight have rapidly grown as a public health problem worldwide, including in Indonesia. The prevalence of overweight and obesity among Indonesian children and adolescents has also increased significantly in recent years (Maulina, 2022). This suggests that better interventions and prevention are needed to address this issue, especially for students (Susanti & Legal and Public Relations Working Team, 2019). All countries, including Indonesia, face the problem of being overweight, or overweight, and overweight, or obesity. Based on data from the Global Nutrition Report, 10% of the adult population in Indonesia is overweight, and 2% is obese (WHO, 2007). Therefore, this study aims to fill the knowledge gap by investigating the effect of counseling using crossword media on students' knowledge and attitudes about overweight and obesity. This study involved 48 grade X students who were overweight or obese. The sample was drawn from the entire overweight and obese population. Results showed that grade X students in Padang City had significant knowledge about overweight and obesity before and after counseling without using crossword media (p=0.000). In addition, there was a significant difference between students' knowledge on this topic before and after counseling using crossword media (p=0.000). According to the study, the use of crossword media has a significant effect on increasing students' knowledge. Therefore, it is recommended that students continue to use this media in instructional or learning activities at school.

Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan anggota Kelompok Petani Wanita Kamboja (KWT) di Desa Bandar Sungai, Kecamatan Sabak Auh, Kabupaten Siak, mengenai pembuatan dan penggunaan pestisida nabati sebagai alternatif pengendalian hama yang ramah lingkungan. Program ini dilaksanakan melalui sosialisasi, demonstrasi, diskusi, dan praktik langsung menggunakan bahan-bahan alami, termasuk daun pepaya, daun sirih, lidah buaya, bawang putih, dan kunyit. Pelaksanaannya terdiri dari identifikasi masalah, sesi edukasi, demonstrasi produksi pestisida nabati, pelatihan praktis, dan evaluasi melalui observasi dan diskusi kelompok. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta tentang manfaat pestisida nabati, kemampuan mereka dalam mengidentifikasi bahan-bahan alami yang sesuai, keterampilan mereka dalam menyiapkan dan menggunakan pestisida nabati, dan kemauan mereka untuk mengadopsi praktik pengelolaan hama yang ramah lingkungan. Program ini menyediakan alternatif yang lebih aman, lebih ekonomis, dan berkelanjutan dibandingkan pestisida kimia, sekaligus mendukung praktik pertanian yang bertanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan dan meningkatkan kualitas budidaya tanaman di dalam masyarakat.
