Abstract

Mango peel (Mangfera indica L.) has many pharmacological effects as a traditional medicine. Therefore, standardization of mango peel simplisia needs to be done as a preparation of phytopharmaca raw material. This research aimed to obtain standardization of mango peel simplisia include specific and non-specific parameter. The research procedures include plant determination, simplisia preparation as well as specific standardization test (includes organoleptic, water-soluble compound concentration, and ethanol solution compound concentration) and nonspecific standardization test (includes moisture content, dried shrinkage, total ash content and acid insoluble ash content). The specific organoleptic parameters of dried mango peel simplisia have a distinctive sweet aroma, bitter taste, and brownish yellow colour. Water-soluble and ethanol-soluble concentrations are 22,36% ± 1,17% and 9,56% ± 0,07%. Moisture content is 9,09% ± 1,44%. Dried shrinkage rate is 0,19% ± 0,04%. Total ash and acid insoluble ash contents are 4,11% ± 0,10% and 0,14% ± 0,03%. The mango peel simplisia has met the quality standard of the raw material.

Abstract

Abstract

Type II Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic condition that occurs when there is an increase in glucose levels in the blood caused by the body's inability to produce or use insulin effectively, resulting in sustained complications if not balanced with medication adherence. This study aims to determine the level of adherence of Type II Diabetes Mellitus patients to antidiabetic medication use in Yosowilangun Public Health Center in Lumajang Regency. This research method is a descriptive study using the MMAS-8 questionnaire as a data collection instrument with a total of 60 respondents. The results of this study showed that the average score of 60 respondents was 5.05, which indicates low adherence. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the level of adherence of Type II Diabetes Mellitus patients in Yosowilangun Community Health Center, Lumajang Regency, falls under the low adherence category.

Abstract

Banana Corm is banana plant waste that has not been utilized optimally and contains flavonoids which have the potential as natural UV repellents. This study aims to determined the physical-chemical characteristics and preferences of respondents as well as the SPF value of kepok banana corm extract creams. Three cream formulations were carried out using concentration variants of 10% (F1), 20% (F2) and 30% (F3) with physical property tests including organoleptic tests, cream type tests, homogeneity tests, spreadability tests, centrifugation tests and SPF value. The test results show that the three formulations have different colors and aromas and are o/w cream types and have a homogeneous texture. All formulas meet the skin's pH range. In the test results there was a significant difference (p<0.05) in the order of highest spreading power in diameter F3 (5.725 ± 0.01 cm) × F2 (5.24 ± 0.2 cm) × F1 (5.24 ± 0.092 cm ), whereas for the centrifugation test results there was no phase separation in the supply. The results of respondents' preferences for cream showed that the overall cream preparation formula is acceptable and liked by respondents. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the banana bongol extract cream meets the physical quality requirements based on predetermined parameters and the banana bongol extract cream can be accepted by respondents. Cream with variations in banana weevil concentration of 10%, 20% and 30%, obtained an SPF value in the maximum protection category
