Abstract

This research is an effort to understand the meaning of character education in the religious traditions of the Muslim community of West Papua. The techniques used in the data collection process are interviews, observation and documentation. The results obtained indicate that of the eight religious traditions analyzed, there are ten values of character education. Of the ten values of character education are dominated by religious values and values of appreciation, especially in the tradition of safar bathing, gendang sahur, commemoration of the night of lailatu qadr, the implementation of aqiqah and qurban, maulid derivatives and maulid fakalah, tombormark and the tradition of picking up khatibs. Character education learning based on local wisdom is actually an alternative consideration in teaching and instilling wisdom values in the minds, paradigms, and beliefs of students by emphasizing the heart and reason in shaping character

Abstract

Abstract: The golden age of Islam that occurred in the time of the Abbasid dynasty is a historical fact. Compared to the progress obtained in the period the Prophet, Khilafoh Rasyidah,and Umayyads, Abbasids has more significant power. The achievement of Abbasid dynasty contributed the progress of political, military, economic, science and Islamic civilation. The rising of Abbasid Dynasty to power brought Islam to the new phase. In the Abbasids era the islamic politic dominated by Arabs has ended. the caliphs of Abbasid tried to establish a universal Islamic political entity based on the principle of equality between Muslim Arabs and non Arabs.

Abstract

This research is an attempt to examine the meaning of character education in the religious traditions of the Muslim community in West Papua. The techniques used in the data collection process are interviews, observation and documentation. The results obtained indicate that the inherited tradition is obtained from the value of character education. Rather than the value of education, so is the religious value and the value of appreciation in the tradition of safar bathing, the sahur drum, discussing the night of prayer, the implementation of aqiqah and qurban, the descendant's maulid and the factual maulid, tombormark and khatib pickup tradition. Learning local character education based on local wisdom becomes an alternative consideration that involves and implements the values ​​of wisdom in the minds, paradigms, and beliefs of students by supporting the heart and reason in forming character.

Abstract

As educational and propaganda agencies, Islamic Boarding Schools have played an important social role, which acts as a social change and culture change. Islamic Boarding schools are institutions that can change the structures of ideas and thoughts in society and also change the various cultures that exist in the community. The main topic of this research is the existence of Islamic boarding school as propaganda agencies conduct socio-cultural changes in society. Descriptive approach is used to describe the characteristics of the boarding school, the purpose and function as institutions of education and propaganda to tafaqquh fi al-din through the study of classical science, kitab kuning. The findings of this study, that as agents of social and cultural change, schools play a role in three lines, namely: (1) tafaqquh fi al-din through educational institutions and propaganda; (2) Teaching Kitab Kuning through a dialogical approach, critical, 3) Investment of morals al-karimah in boarding schools and surrounding communities.

Abstract

As social humans beings will always be accompanied by a process of interaction or communication, interaction with the natural environment, interaction with others, as well as interaction with theLord, be it intentional or unintentional. There are various forms of interaction; especially regarding the interaction of a deliberate, there is an educational interaction term, which means the interactions take place to achieve the goals of education and teaching. These interactions include interactions in the process of learning and interaction in learning strategies. Interaction in the learning process in Islam always pay attention in respect the dignity, the dignity and freedom of thought, thus encouraging the learner's personality develop optimally, while for teachers, teaching is an obligation that has valuable service. It so happens for learning strategies in the context of education include;set of specifications and qualification and behavioral changes associated with the choice of approaches, procedures, methods and techniques of learning.

Abstract

This article discusses the life history of Rabi'ah Al-Adawiyah and the concept of al-Mahabbah al-Ilahiyah. From the discussion, it was understood that her full name was Rabi'ah bint Ismail al-Adawiyah, she was born in Basrah in 95 H./713-714 M. died 185 H/801 M. She came from a poor family who was devoutly religious, at the age of approaching adulthood, in one incident he was captured and then sold and then made into a slave, until finally freed by his master after seeing a strange incident that happened to Rabi'ah Al-Adawiyah. No accurate data was found, Rabi'ah Al-Adawiyah had studied with a sheikh or a teacher. However, according to A. J. Arberry, he was a student of the leader of Zahid, namely Abu Sulaiman ad-Darani. Rabi'ah Al-Adawiyah chose to live her life alone, Rabi'ah Al-Adawiyah never married, even though there were at least 2 (two) people who had proposed to her for marriage. Rabi'ah Al-Adawiyah is considered the first person to declare the doctrine of unconditional love for Allah. Love speaks with longing and feelings. Only those who feel love can know what love is. As an expression of the servant's love for Allah, that love must cover other than the Beloved or the Beloved. In other words, then; 1). he had to turn his back on the world and all its attractions. 2). he must separate himself from his fellow creatures of Allah, so that he cannot attract/obstruct from the Creator.

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of character education in dealing with the negative impact of technological developments in the digital era, especially for generation Z. Rapidly developing technology provides broad and fast access to information, but also raises challenges such as distraction and exposure to negative content which can damage the character of generation Z. Character education that is integrated with Islamic religious values ​​plays an important role in forming individuals with noble and devout morals. This research highlights that effective character education, based on the teachings of the Qur'an and Hadith, can help generation Z develop traits such as honesty, justice, patience and compassion. These values ​​are important for creating individuals who are not only intellectually intelligent but also moral and ethical, and able to face the challenges of the VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) era wisely. Character education in Islam aims to form a just, prosperous and harmonious society.
