Abstract

The limitation of wood as a raw material for furniture production has prompted researchers to seek non-wood alternative materials. Among these alternatives, bamboo has been utilized for furniture production. However, the bamboo used is typically in its whole form, which restricts the types and shapes of furniture that can be produced. Using the design thinking method, starting from the empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test stages, the goal of this research was to explore the aesthetic value of a cabinet that can transform from one function to another using processed bamboo material—specifically, vertically laminated bamboo with grooves. Data collection involved initial questionnaires distributed to potential users, interviews with bamboo processing industry practitioners, and a literature review of books, journals, and internet articles. The final outcome of this study is a working drawing and a prototype cabinet made from laminated bamboo material that can transform into a writing desk. Respondent evaluations indicated that the prototype was 71.39% comfortable (Good) and had an average aesthetic rating of 84.125%. Additionally, 33% of respondents expressed interest in purchasing the prototype at the specified price.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to re-examine the factors that influence and moderate the earnings response coefficient in manufacturing companies. These variables are Real Earnings Management, Income Smoothing, Audit Tenure, and Intellectual Capital Disclosure. The sample of this study consists of 68 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2015 to 2017 and selected by the purposive sampling method. This study uses moderated regression analysis. The results of this study shows that real earnings management has no negative influence to earnings response coefficient. Reversly, income smoothing has a negative influence to earnings response coefficient, audit tenure has no influence to earnings response coefficient while intellectual capital disclosure has no positive influence to earnings response coefficient. In other that, Intellectual capital disclosure does not weaken the negative influence of real earnings management and audit tenure to earnings response coefficient. However, Intellectual capital disclosure is proven to weaken the negative influence of income smoothing to earnings response coefficient.

Abstract

The Indonesian wood industry is an industry that is favorable by the foreign consumers, with a steady increase in sales—even in the midst of a pandemic. One of the impacts arising from the increased production process is the increased wood waste produced. This research was conducted as an effort to utilize the abundant wood waste to become a TV table furniture that has high aesthetic value by using a parametric design. The method used is the design thinking, with the research results in the form of a working drawing design and a prototype of TV table furniture with a parametric design. The aesthetic assessment showed that 77% of the total respondents stated that the design and prototype of the TV table had an aesthetic shape and value.
