Abstract

Skid Resistance is the force generated between the pavement surface and vehicle’s tires to resist the vehicle advance motion when braking. In this research the correlation between skid resistance value and texture depth on the pavement surface will be determined. The skid resistance value determined by using the British Pendulum Tester (BPT) and to determine the texture depth used Sand Patch Method. The research is conducted directly on a macro textured surface with two methods. The first method is applied on Ngumban Surbakti Road where the samples tested with the same distance from the edge of the pavement along the road; The second method is applied on Jend. Sudirman Road where the samples tested with specific distances from the edge of the pavement until the median. From the results of the analysis, there are some conclusions: (1) there is a positive correlation between the texture depth and skid resistance with a coefficient of determination (R2) = 0.028 on Ngumban Surbakti Road and (R2) = 0.191 on  Jend. Sudirman Road;(2) the increase of skid resistance value is directly proportional to the increase of surface texture depth value; and (3) the different methods did not cause significant yield differences.

Abstract

Increasing the number of routine worship activities and the reduced quality of worship facilities services forced the Al Jihad Mosque, Siti Rejo II Village, Medan Amplas District and surrounding communities to carry out renovation of development in a self-managed / independent manner. In the implementation of the initial stages of the renovation there was a problem of the lack of knowledge and skills of human and community resources regarding building renovation techniques. To be the solution to the problem mentioned above, together with the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) TALENTA 2019 Community Service Team, the mosque management as the responsible and stakeholders in improving the quality of community human resources in its organization will carry out activities of understanding building drawings, controlling building costs and simulating stone and wood construction in a micro practice in building renovations. Activities to improve the quality of the community through this knowledge and skills will develop the characteristics of community entrepreneurship in the field of building renovation services or techniques.

Abstract

Bahan aditif sebagai bahan yang ditambahkan pada campuran aspal bertujuan untuk meningkatkan mutu campuran aspal serta meningkatkan kekerasan dan kekuatan perkerasan jalan terutama yang sering dilalui kendaraan berat. Beberapa jenis bahan tambahan yang dapat dicampurkan ke dalam aspal antara lain kapur, plastik, dan karet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan silica fume terhadap karakteristik campuran Asphalt Concrete Wearing Course (AC-WC). Silica fume yang ditambahkan pada campuran aspal mempunyai variasi kadar 2%, 4%, 5%, 6%, dan 8% dari kadar aspal. Benda uji penelitian sebanyak 92 buah yang terdiri dari 36 benda uji Marshall Test sebelum Kadar Aspal Optimum (OAC), 54 benda uji Marshall Test setelah OAC dan 2 benda uji Wheel Tracking Machine (WTM) Test. Pada penelitian ini juga dilaksanakan pengujian ekstraksi Metode Refluks untuk membuktikan adanya kesesuaian antara gradasi agregat yang dipakai sebelum dan sesudah Marshall Test. Dari hasil Uji Marshall diketahui bahwa penambahan silica fume dengan kadar 5% pada campuran aspal menghasilkan karakteristik yang paling baik diantara tingkat variasi lainnya yang memenuhi Spesifikasi Bina Marga Revisi III tahun 2010. Dari hasil pengujian WTM dengan penambahan kadar silica fume sebesar 5% pada campuran aspal menunjukkan kecepatan deformasi total yang lebih rendah. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa campuran aspal mempunyai ketahanan deformasi yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan tanpa penambahan silica fume.
