Abstract

This study aims to analyze the sustainability of Madrasa in the digital era by focusing on two aspects, namely increasing flexibility and dealing with the threat of artificial intelligence. This research was conducted using the library research method, with data collection techniques in the form of systematic literature reviews. The results of the study show that the sustainability of Madrasa in the digital era is very dependent on the ability of Madrasa to increase flexibility and face the threat of artificial intelligence. Increased flexibility is carried out by developing learning programs that can be accessed online and offline, using innovative learning technology, and involving teachers and students in the learning process. Meanwhile, to deal with the threat of artificial intelligence, Madrasa need to improve digital capabilities and prepare teachers and students to face changes in an increasingly complex and dynamic world of work. Madrasa also need to strengthen Islamic values and wisely introduce artificial intelligence concepts. The sustainability of madrasa in the digital era requires a holistic approach, which includes aspects of technology, management, and curriculum. In the face of artificial intelligence, madrasa need to strengthen their identity and reputation as institutions that provide high quality education and strong Islamic values. Abstract

The threat of a recession in 2023 will not only hurt the economic aspect but also harm the educational dimension. Madrasas, as an educational institution, should be prepared to face the challenges and threats of the upcoming recession, even though this threat has not yet surfaced. One of the preventive measures that can be taken is to re-implement the urgency of Islamic values in madrasah management as an actualization in preventing the adverse effects of the 2023 recession. Considered when facing a period of disruption such as a recession. The articles in this study used the systematic literature review method with the principle of the general literature review procedure. The techniques used are coding, initial coding, and open coding by means of identification, selection, classification, evaluation, and synthesis of primary and secondary literature. As for the results of the systematic literature review that has been carried out, it shows that madrasahs, in the face of a recession, need to do the following: The first is to instill ascetic values in the madrasah system. Second, implementing sharia-based financial management. Third, reconstructing ukhuwah Islamiyah solidarity. Fourth, rejecting the usury system and transactions that are unlawful. Fourth, rebuild the transparency and accountability of madrasahs in the face of a recession. Fifth, re-implement the system of efficiency and savings in madrasas so that the danger of recession can be prevented.

Abstract

Implementing society empowerment models is crucial for addressing micro-level problems where government services often fall short. Despite evidence that social capital significantly contributes to development and poverty reduction, there remains a gap in understanding specific strategies and outcomes of social capital-based empowerment initiatives. This study aims to fill this gap by investigating the unique learning concept of Pesantren Rakyat Sumberpucung (PRS), which emphasizes low- cost, independent, flexible, and mutual assistance principles. Utilizing framework which includes structural opportunity to meet, know-how of social interaction, sense of belonging, and ethos of mutuality, this study employed qualitative research design. Data were gathered through participant observation, semi-structured interviews with village-level stakeholders, in-depth interviews and focus group discussion. The results indicate that the integrative model known as "Pancarukun," which includes initiatives such as Jagong Mathon, Celengan, Ngaji Ngluruk, Lumbung Pesantren Rakyat, and Fatehahan, effectively strengthens socio-cultural-religious networks, fostering harmony and cooperation between PRS and the community. These strategies have successfully promoted a spirit of togetherness and consistent collaboration. In conclusion, PRS’s approach demonstrates the potential of integrative community-based strategies to address diverse problems across sectors such as economy, agriculture, education, and culture. By leveraging social capital, PRS has created a sustainable model of community empowerment that can serve as a blueprint for similar initiatives.

Abstract

This study examines the extent to which the concepts, theories, and practices of educational supervision can be developed in a pluralistic society, particularly in the context of Indonesian education. Educational supervision in this context refers to instructional supervision, which is more focused on supporting and facilitating teachers to enhance the quality of instruction in achieving specific goals according to the concept of educational supervision. In Indonesia, the theory and practice of educational supervision face various challenges, given that general education is also conducted by religious-based educational institutions, particularly Islam, which oversees numerous Islamic schools, madrasahs, and pesantren. This study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach that critiques the implementation of the concepts, theories, and practices of educational science, particularly related to instructional or teaching supervision. The findings indicate that educational supervision in Islamic educational institutions has not yet been effective and efficient, as there remains a gap between the ideal and the reality in the field. Educational theories and the legal aspects of education enshrined in education laws have not been fully implemented properly. The study concludes that the education system must first emphasize the implementation of educational processes such as improving and equalizing the quality of teachers, enhancing learning facilities, libraries, and laboratories. A paradigm shift is necessary, changing the focus from solely academic (hard skills) to also include soft skills and non-academic aspects. The teaching and learning process should be designed to be more engaging, focusing on the improvement of the affective (attitudes) and psychomotor (skills) domains, rather than being limited to the cognitive (knowledge) domain alone.

Abstract

Background. The Industrial Revolution 5.0 demands innovation in the education sector, particularly in Vocational High Schools (SMK), to prepare graduates capable of competing in the digital era and smart industry. This research explores the integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) within the Teaching Factory concept in SMK as a strategy to optimize industry-based learning. IoT technology enables the Teaching Factory to simulate real industrial environments, allowing students to be actively involved in production processes supported by real-time data and automation. Purpose. The purpose of this study is to analyze the benefits of IoT implementation in the Teaching Factory to enhance student readiness for the workforce. Method. The research method includes a literature review and a case study of SMKs that have integrated IoT into their Teaching Factory activities. Results. The results indicate that IoT use increases efficiency and productivity in the learning process while enriching students’ learning experiences through interactive and adaptive methods. IoT integration also helps students develop relevant skills for the workforce, thus reducing unemployment rates in Indonesia. Conclusion. In conclusion, the incorporation of IoT into the Teaching Factory concept offers significant opportunities for SMK to better prepare students for the challenges of Industry 5.0. This article provides practical recommendations for SMK administrators to develop IoT-based curricula and learning infrastructure to align with industrial needs.

Abstract

Background. The National Examination (UN) policy in Indonesia, which applies to both public schools and Madrasahs, has been criticized for its limitations and lack of alignment with modern educational evaluation concepts. The National Examination is considered inadequate as it lacks multifunctionality and is not suited for evaluating all types of educational institutions. Particularly for Madrasahs, which focus on students' morals and Islamic character, the National Examination is seen as an inappropriate tool for assessment. Purpose. The researcher aims to explore the implications of the National Examination policy for Madrasahs, utilizing a literature review approach. The goal is to evaluate the policy from the perspective of contemporary learning evaluation concepts and determine its fairness, appropriateness, and theoretical grounding. Method. A literature review approach is employed to analyze the National Examination policy and its impact on Madrasahs. This approach involves examining various scholarly sources and theoretical frameworks related to learning evaluation. Results. The study reveals that the National Examination policy is unjust, inappropriate, and lacks a solid theoretical basis. It highlights that the policy, which relies predominantly on written tests (paper & pencil tests), fails to adequately assess the diverse aspects of student learning, particularly in the context of Madrasahs, which emphasize religious education. Conclusion. The findings indicate that the National Examination is not a suitable evaluation tool for Madrasahs and is misaligned with modern educational evaluation theories. The reliance on written tests does not fully capture the holistic nature of student learning, especially in institutions with a focus on religious values. The study calls for reconsideration of the evaluation methods used for Madrasahs to better align with their educational objectives and theoretical foundations.
