Abstract

The communication style is defined as a specialized set of interpersonal behaviours that are used in a given situation. Every leader has a communication style that is different in moving the organization to achieve the goals of the organization and every leader will build their own style. This study examines the effect of communication styles of the leadership, formally or informally, to employee performance improvement in the Technical Executing Unit of ITB Library. The method used is an explanatory survey and the data collection techniques used are questionnaires, interviews, observation, and literature study. Target population in this study is all of staffs in the Technical Executing Unit of ITB Library by using hypothesis testing using path analysis (path analysis). The results of this study indicate that the communication styles of the leadership, both formally and informally, include downward communication, upward communication and horizontal communication, influence on employee performance improvement in the Technical Executing Unit of ITB Library. If the communication activities frequency is increased (formal and informal communication), the employee’s performance will increase. If the communication activities frequency is reduced (formal and informal communication), the employees performance will decrease. The informal communication has a greater influence on employee performance. This means that the higher the leadership’s informal communication to the employee, the higher the employees performance.Gaya komunikasi didefinisikan sebagai seperangkat perilaku antar pribadi yang terspesialisasi yang di gunakan dalam situasi tertentu. Setiap pimpinan memiliki gaya komunikasi yang berbeda-beda dalam menggerakkan organisasinya untuk mencapai tujuan organisasi dan setiap pimpinan akan membangun gayanya sendiri-sendiri. Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang pengaruh gaya komunikasi pimpinan secara formal maupun informal terhadap peningkatan kinerja pegawai di UPT Perpustakaan ITB. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survey eksplanatory, dengan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket, wawancara, observasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Populasi sasaran pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh pegawai di lingkungan UPT Perpustakaan ITB dengan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan analisis jalur (path analysis). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa gaya komunikasi pimpinan baik komunikasi formal dan komunikasi informal  yang meliputi komunikasi ke bawah, komunikasi ke atas dan komunikasi horisontal, berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kinerja pegawai di UPT Perpustakaan ITB. Jika aktivitas komunikasi (komunikasi formal dan informal) volume frekuensinya bertambah maka kinerja pegawai akan meningkat. Jika aktivitas komunikasi (komunikasi formal dan informal) volume frekuensinya berkurang, maka kinerja pegawai akan menurun. Komunikasi informal tampak memiliki pengaruh yang lebih besar terhadap kinerja pegawai. Artinya semakin tinggi komunikasi informal yang dilakukan pimpinan terhadap pegawai, semakin tinggi kinerja pegawai.

Abstract

Durian Demang Village is a village that has natural beauty that can become a touristdestination if it is well developed. This study discusses the development communication strategy usedin the formation of a Tourism Village in Durian Deman, Bengkulu Tengah Regency so that people'seconomic lives will be better. The purpose of this study was to determine the application ofparisipatoris communication in the formation of a Tourism Village in Durian Demang Village,Bengkulu Tengah Regency. The research method used in this research is the case study method with aqualitative approach. The data collection techniques used were observation, interview,documentation study and literature study. The results of this study The participatory communicationstrategy undertaken by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) has an effective functionand role in providing awareness, communicating empowerment messages and developing communitycreativity in the Durian Demang Village.

Abstract

The background of this research is the emergence of e-commerce which is one of the causes of a shift in people's behavior that prefers shopping online, especially in Cilegon City who buy scarlett whitening body lotion through shopee @scarlettofficialshop. Online customer reviews on the shopee application @scarlettoffcialshop provide information about scarlett whitening body lotion products. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence and extent of the influence of online customer reviews at shopee @scarlettofficialshop on purchasing decisions for scarlett whitening body lotion products in Cilegon City. This study uses the elaboration likelihood model theory. This research approach uses a quantitative approach, and uses survey methods, the population of this study is the city of Cilegon as many as 450,271 people. The sample taken in this study was 400 respondents. The data analysis technique used is the classical assumption test, instrument test, simple linear regression analysis, determination coefficient, hypothesis testing. The results of this study can be seen that there is a positive and significant influence between online customer review variables and purchasing decision variables. And shows the value of Tcount > Ttable, namely 22.284 > 1.965, with a significance level of 0.000 <0.05. So it can be seen that there is a positive and significant influence between variable X (Online Customer Review) and variable Y (Purchasing Decision).

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the Human Relations Strategy in Realizing Zero Accident (Case Study on HRD PT. Grand Pintalan Textile) by analyzing the strategy using the POAC strategy (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling). The research uses organizational control theory. The selection of informants was done by the purposive sampling method. Research data was obtained by data collection techniques with in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. This research uses the post-positivism paradigm, a qualitative approach with a case study method. The big concept used is the POAC management concept from G.R Terry. The results of this study show that the HRD Strategy of PT. Grand Pintalan Textile to achieve zero accidents is carried out with four strategies consisting of simple, technical, bureaucratic, and conservative supervision. Besides that, PT. Grand Pintalan Textile implements the POAC strategy through the Human Relations Department. This POAC strategy can be seen from the activities carried out by the Human Relations Department which include knowledge of what to do (planning), determining how to do it (organizing), understanding how they should do it (actuating), and measuring the effectiveness of the efforts that have been made. (controlling).

Abstract

Sangiang Island has good potential as a tourist destination that can generate income for regional development but it is unfortunate that there is no tourism communication strategy, potential identification and good management on this island. The aim of the research is to identify the potential and challenges of developing natural tourism that belongs to Sangiang Island as a Natural Tourism Park (TWA) so as to be able to formulate a marketing communication strategy for Sangiang Island. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, literature studies and interviews. This study uses a SWOT analysis. The results showed that the identification of Sangiang Island's tourism potential was natural tourism, marine tourism, cultural tourism and educational tourism.Keywords: Tourism Communication, Sangiang Island, SWOT analysis
