Abstract

The existence of the COVID-19 pandemic has succeeded in transforming the implementation of offline learning activities into online. This does not only occur in formal educational institutions, but also in non-formal educational institutions such as the Mahesa Institute Course and Training Institute (LKP) as an English language course institution. The purpose of this study is to examine management as a strategy for LKP Mahesa Institue in maximizing learning methods applied during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as to examine the enthusiasm of learning residents during distance learning. The research method used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The data analysis technique applied is Miles and Huberman's analysis theory which consists of the stages of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results obtained from this study are that in the management process, LKP Mahesa Institute is by improving the skills of educators and learning residents through virtual learning activities so that they can improve the learning outcomes carried out. Novelty from research conducted in the application of the virtual learning model at the LKP Mahesa Institute non-formal education institution is able to increase the learning speed of learning citizens anytime and anywhere, increase collaboration while increasing mastery of learning resources, and being able to create different learning experiences. So, with this research it is hoped that it can become a source of information in developing the management of English courses.

Abstract

Kembali populernya permainan lato-lato di akhir tahun 2022 berhasil mencuri perhatian dan ketertarikan anak-anak di Dusun Penjalinwakul untuk memainkan tradisional tersebut setelah kurang lebih 2 tahun terdampak pandemi Covid-19 dan menyebabkan dibatasinya kegiatan bersosialisasi hingga menyebabkan turunnya keterampilan sosial anak-anak. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis perkembangan keterampilan sosial pasca pandemi Covid-19 oleh anak-anak. Adapun metode yang digunakan adalah metode studi kasus dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi semipartisipatif dan wawancara semi terstruktur kepada anak-anak dan orang tua. Model analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis Miles dan Huberman yang dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu pengumpulan, reduksi, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah selama pandemi Covid-19 anak-anak menjadi cenderung anti sosial, frekuensi komunikasi antara anak dengan orang tua dan sebayanya serta kemampuan simpati & empatinya menjadi menurun. Tetapi dengan populernya permainan lato-lato, berhasil menarik perhatian anak-anak dan mampu mengembalikan minat bersosialisasi serta menumbuhkan keterampilan sosial yang selama pandemi Covid-19 menurun

Abstract

The transition from the 2013 curriculum (K-13) to the Independent Curriculum in Indonesia represents an evaluative measure aimed at enhancing the overall educational standards in the country. Homeschooling Kak Seto Surabaya is a non-formal educational institution program that incorporates an independent curriculum. The establishment of a strong and effective partnership between students and parents plays a pivotal role in the attainment of learning objectives within distance learning programs. Hence, the purpose of this study was to examine the implementation of the independent learning curriculum in the context of distance learning programs, specifically focusing on its impact on enhancing the parent-child relationship within the Homeschooling Kak Seto Surabaya. The employed methodology is a qualitative approach utilizing a case study design. The employed methodology for data collection encompassed participatory observation as well as semi-structured interviews conducted with both managers and parents of students. The data analysis model utilized in this study is the Miles and Huberman model, which encompasses the sequential stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings of this study indicate that the implementation of an independent curriculum has a significant impact on enhancing the relationship between children and parents during the learning process.
