Abstract

IPS adalah bidang studi yang mengkaji berbagai fenomena sosial yang erat kaitannya dengan masyarakat. Salah satu mata pelajaran IPS di sekolah dasar adalah materi kegiatan jual beli, yang tepatnya terdapat pada materi kelas II. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kepustakaan, yaitu penelitian dengan mencari referensi dan teori-teori yang relevan dengan penelitian yang diambil. Hasil penelitian ini pembelajaran IPS di sekolah dasar harus disampaikan dengan model pembelajaran yang variatif, sehingga tercipta kegiatan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan bermakna bagi siswa. Penerapan model role playing pada konsep jual beli bahan ajar di sekolah dasar dapat menunjang tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran yang diharapkan. Penerapan model pembelajaran role playing merupakan salah satu solusi alternatif dalam pembelajaran jual beli materi dengan konsep belajar sambil bermain dan diharapkan siswa dapat terhubung dengan pengalaman dan kehidupan nyata di lingkungannya.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method on students’ learning motivation and social character development within the context of Islamic Religious Education (PAI). Reflecting Nelson Mandela’s assertion that education is the most powerful tool to change the world, fostering a supportive learning environment is especially vital in the digital era and the post-Covid-19 period, both of which have significantly affected student motivation and character formation. PBL emerges as a relevant and effective approach to meet these challenges. A mixed-methods design was employed, combining quantitative methods to measure key variables and qualitative methods for deeper insights through interviews and observations. Data collection involved 25 questionnaire items and 6 interview questions administered to educators and students, with a total of 128 survey respondents and 10 interview participants from SMAN 2 Bandung and MAN Cimahi City. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data were processed using Miles and Huberman’s framework, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results reveal that PBL positively influences learning motivation and supports the development of four key dimensions of social character: (1) religiosity, (2) worship, (3) responsibility, and (4) tolerance. Notably, SMAN 2 Bandung showed the greatest improvement in tolerance (3.71), whereas MAN Cimahi City excelled in the worship dimension (3.70). Overall, worship and tolerance were the most significantly affected aspects. These findings suggest that integrating PBL into PAI can enhance students' academic engagement and deepen the internalization of religious values. This study contributes empirical evidence that PBL fosters not only cognitive growth but also social and spiritual development, offering practical recommendations for educators and policymakers to create more effective, student-centered PAI learning models in a post-pandemic educational landscape.

Abstract

Aceh was under Dutch rule for decades. During this time, the public couldn’t access education due to restrictions put in place by the Dutch empire. Access to quality schools is limited to children from the upper class, as most children have difficulty getting an education. As a result, many kids struggle to get an education that includes Islamic education— even if they are from the upper class. Understanding Aceh’s only province with Islamic syari’ah is the main goal of this paper. After that, solutions provided by Teungku Chiek Dirundeng for building Islamic education are sought out. Through his efforts, he helped the Aceh community come together and find solutions to their problems. The story of Teungku Chiek Dirundeng is recorded in Aceh’s saga and written directly into Dutch history books. It’s one of the religious leaders in Aceh who contributed to building the civilization of human life by educating people. This research uses qualitative methods to examine the history and strategies of Teungku Chiek Dirundeng to develop an Islamic-based education system in Aceh. Researchers reviewed every public document published between 1960 and the present day for their research. These documents showed that Teungku Chiek Dirundeng believed building Islamic schools was the best way to promote Islamic education. Pesantren, pronounced Dayah in Indonesian, is an educational institution founded by Muslim scholars. It's based in Meukek, Labuhan Haji and Rundeng areas and is known for its ability to mobilize the community to work together. Only a few researchers have studied the history of Islamic leaders. One of these people is Aceh’s Sultan Hamengku Buwono II. He led the community to create dayah, which is the first step in forming an Islamic education system. Before that point, he helped people establish basics like religion and its rituals in Aceh.
