Abstract

The danger of lead in paint that is coated on the human body, silver can enter through the skin and will interact with proteins, DNA, RNA and oxidative stress. Formation of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) by lead can cause oxidative stress and is characterized by an increase in the enzymes catalase, malondialdehyde (MDA) and Oxidized glutathione (GSSG). The aim of this study was to analyze blood lead levels against Malondealdehyde (MDA) in silver humans in Semarang City. This study used an observational analytic study with a cross sectional approach to analyze the effect of lead levels on Malondialdehyde levels in silver humans in Semarang City using a t test to see differences in results based on length of work, length of exposure and age on lead levels, and the effect of lead on MDA. The results showed that from 20 human samples, the lowest lead level was 23.9 g/dl and the highest was 61.9 g/dl with an average blood lead level of 37.3 g/dl with an average blood lead level of 37.3 g/dl, and the lowest MDA level was 0.4 mg/L and the highest level is 1.74 mg/L with an average of 1.2 mg/L. Based on the data obtained from the t test, it shows a significant value (P-Value) of 0.610 which means 0.05, this indicates that the decision taken is to reject H1 which means that there is no effect between the results of lead levels on the results of MDA levels.

Abstract

Sebagian besar mahasiswa memiliki riwayat vaksin hepatitis B yaitu sebanyak 27 (64,3%) mahasiswa. Hasil skrining merupakan pemeriksaan awal, sehingga masih diperlukan pemeriksaan tambahan untuk dapat memberikan kepastian terhadap status penyakit Hepatitis B. Vaksin dianjurkan untuk diberikan kepada seluruh mahasiswa kesehatan yang berisiko tinggi terhadap penularan virus hepatitis B.Kata Kunci: Skrining; Hepatitis B; Seleksi Donor; Donor Darah SukarelaAbstractHepatitis B is a contagious disease posing a significant health issue in the community. Hepatitis B can be transmitted through the use of syringes and through blood transfusions. Screening for hepatitis B is necessary for prospective voluntary blood donation. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of hepatitis B among students who fulfilled the criteria as potential voluntary blood donation. This study used an observation with a cross-sectional approach. Around 50 students were selected as the respondents using a stratified random sampling technique. The study was conducted at the Laboratory of the Department of Health Analysts at Semarang Polytechnic of Health in June 2023. Weight measurement, blood pressure measurement, and hemoglobin examination were performed on the respondents and they were eligible blood donation if all examination results were normal and met the criteria. Data were processed and analyzed descriptively to see the frequency distribution. Most of the students met the requirements as potential voluntary blood donation specifically 42 students (84%). All students had non-reactive hepatitis B results, totaling 42 students (100.0%). Most students had a history of hepatitis B vaccination, with 27 students (64.3%) having received the vaccine. The screening result represents an initial examination, therefore additional tests are still needed to provide certainty about the status of Hepatitis B. Vaccination is recommended to be administered to all students majoring in medicine who are at high risk of hepatitis B virus transmission. Keywords: Screening; Hepatitis B; Donor Selection; Voluntary Blood Donation
