Abstract

This research was based on the phenomenon of free sex behavior by students in their boarding houses, hence the existence of the term 'rules-free' and 'strict-rules' boarding houses. This phenomenon was interesting to study using the concept of behavior so that it can be understood sociologically how the two concepts of the boarding house are related. Grounded theory was used in this research in the hope that the construction of social control in the boarding house arises from the expressions and beliefs, experiences, feelings, and goals of the owner and the occupants. The results showed that students' deviant behavior in the form of free sex was caused by four factors, namely the absence of enforcement of the rules in the boarding house by the owner, students' weak self-control, the arrangement of boarding houses was hidden from society, and negative labeling formed by a stigma. This research concluded that self-control in a boarding house is not formed by awareness to uphold social norms, but is more prompted by one's desire to avoid being embarrassed.

Abstract

Online games played in groups require cohesiveness and effective coordination among team members for successful cooperation. The sociological study of cohesiveness remains neces- sary because the analysis of interactions found in number of studies has not been sufficient- ly in-depth. These studies have failed to reveal the social significance of the term “cohesiveness” or the importance of good coordination as a symbolic force within a group. Several Mobile Legends players in Gorontalo are part of a community renowned for their remarkable reputation in winning matches worldwide. This success has led to the expansion of the group into 3 squads (sparring groups). This research aims to explore how community cohesiveness can serve as a symbolic force, employing qualitative methods with a narrative approach to provide detailed analysis. As a symbolic force, cohesiveness develops through three processes: the initial emergence of cohesiveness, its progression towards community superiority, and finally how the community maintains its cohesion. The symbolic power of community cohesiveness encompasses role symbols and attitude symbols among its members.

Abstract

As an event that grabs the public's attention, domestic violence (KDRT) is still making headlines in various mass media lines, including cyber media. This study aims to identify cases of domestic violence reported by the cyber media Hulondalo.Id and describe the categorization patterns made by the media to frame domestic violence events in Gorontalo. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a framing analysis tool from Murray Edelman. The results showed that the cases of domestic violence published by the cyber media Hulondalo.Id were quite diverse. In the news, certain categorizations are formed for perpetrators and victims of domestic violence. This form of categorization becomes a pattern of media framing of cases of domestic violence that occurred in Gorontalo. The pattern made by Hulondalo.Id places the perpetrators as coercive, drunken, sadistic, barbaric, and persecuting figures. Meanwhile, the victim is positioned as a helpless figure, a patient young wife, and a poor woman. Ideologically the media position themselves as siding with the victim. But the textual facts prove that the Hulondalo.Id cyber media tends to exploit the identity of the victim rather than the identity of the perpetrators of domestic violence.

Abstract

Development of road infrastructure is one of the priorities of the Indonesian government to accelerate the recovery of Indonesia's economic conditions after the economic crisis that took place during the New Order government. This study aims to explore and analyze data and facts that will show various local social and economic issues in the farming community in the GORR construction site. This study uses a qualitative method. The results of this study indicate that In Gorontalo, the Gorontalo Outer Ring Road (GORR) road infrastructure development project is one of the government's strategies to improve the welfare of the people of Gorontalo. The construction of the ring road is intended to reduce traffic congestion (congestion), speed up the distribution of goods and people from the port to Djalaluddin Airport. However, in reality, the project also had an unfavorable impact on the farming community around the road infrastructure development area. This reality is the background for writing this scientific paper with the formulation of the problem of how the socio-economic impact of the construction of the Gorontalo Outer Ring Road (GORR) has been for farming communities in Talulobuto Selatan Village, Tapa District, Bone Bolango Regency which is the location for the GORR construction.

Abstract

The inclusion of modern agricultural machinery, combine harvesters, in a village can have two social impacts: (1) the loss of a culture of mutual cooperation with a system of reciprocity between landowners and farm workers, and (2) a large loss of employment opportunities for farm workers in managing agricultural land in their villages. This can certainly make the social balance in the village disturbed, even so in Permata Village this balance is maintained. This social balance was researched using Vilfredo Pareto's individual action analysis framework and using qualitative approaches and case study methods. Social facts are moulders of individual actions, and rational actions exist only within economic facts, so a number of problems that are not resolved by economic means require consideration of irrational factors. The informant's statements regarding the actions they performed were analyzed to be categorized as irrational, which was then discussed with the concept of residue and derivation from Pareto. This study succeeded in explaining that there are four main factors of irrational actions that maintain social balance in the village, these four factors are reduced to coincidence factors and factors of systematic and appropriate interpretation and way of responding by the village government elite.

Abstract

Stunting is still a health problem in Indonesia which is spread across all regions including Gorontalo Province. Langge Village has people who are indicated to be stunted at the age of two years to five years, even though access to information, including health information, is very easy because this village is located not far from the capital city of Gorontalo and the capital city of Bone Bolango Regency. One effort to reduce the increasing number of stunting in Langge Village is through the use of Moringa leaves as a raw material which is processed into nutritious food and drinks to be consumed by pregnant women and toddlers so that fetuses and children are suitable for ideal growth and development. The availability of abundant raw materials in an area does not guarantee that the community is free from stunting, so education is needed for the community to understand preventive efforts as appropriate and effective steps to prevent stunting. The results of processing Moringa leaves are Moringa Pudding and Moringa leaf powder which can be mixed into drinking water, milk and food consumed by children under five, pregnant women and the elderly as well as the general public.
