Abstract

Research has been carried out to test the inhibitory power of the ethanolic extract of red miana leaves (Coleus benth) against Staphylococcus aureus. This study aims to determine the inhibition test of the ethanolic extract of red miana leaves against Staphylococcus aureus. The prepared miana leaf extract was then tested for the inhibition test of the ethanol extract against Staphylococcus aureus using the well method. The results obtained produced an inhibition zone around the well with different diameters in each sample. The average diameter of the inhibition zone obtained from each sample of miana leaf extract preparations where with a concentration of 10%: -, 15%: 1mm and 20%: 1mm. From the test results can be obtained that the leaf extract of miana (Coleus benth) can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus with concentrations of 15% and 20%.

Abstract

This study aims to make and test the Physical Quality Test of Centtella asiatica (L) extract of Centtella asiatica (L) in cream dosage forms with 0.5% and 1% extract concentrations. The type of research carried out is a laboratory experimental research by making Centella asiatica (L) herbal cream and testing the physical quality of the cream by conducting organoleptic, homogeneity, pH and dispersibility tests. The results of the observation of the pH test at a concentration of 0.5% is 6.13, a concentration of 1% is 6.47 while the dispersion test at a concentration of 0.5% is 5.1 cm, and a concentration of 1% is 5.2 cm. The results of the research on making and testing the physical quality of the cream of gotu kola herb extract 0.5% and 1% met the requirements for the physical quality test of cream preparations.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah krim ekstrak etanol biji pinang (Areca cathecu L) dapat menghambat pertumbuhan Staphylococcus aureus. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah jenis penelitian eksperimen Laboratorium, dengan melakukan uji daya hambat sediaan krim ekstrak etanol biji pinang terhadap Staphylococcus aureus. Di simpulkan bahwa krim ekstrak etanol biji pinang dapat menghambat pertumbuhan Staphylococcus aureus dengan diameter zona hambatan untuk konsentasi 1% sebesar 6,55 mm, konsentasi 2% sebesar 11,4 mm, konsentrasi 3% sebesar 16,5 mm, kontrol negatif 0 mm, dan kontrol positif 26,62 mm.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of areca nut ethanol extract cream on healing incision wounds in rabbits. This study is an experimental study in the Laboratory using 1%, 2%, and 3% areca nut extract cream as test samples and betadine cream as a positive control and cream base as a negative control tested on rabbits. The results of this study obtained a wound healing effect on betel nut extract cream 1% by (4,25%) per day, betel nut extract cream 2% by (6,00%) per day, and betel nut extract cream 3% by (6.75%) per day.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan Untuk mengetahui efektivitas sediaan gel ekstrak daun melinjo (Gnetum gnemon L.) dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus epidermidis dan konsentrasi optimum sediaan gel ekstrak daun melinjo dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Staphylococcus epidermidis. Daun melinjo diekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi dengan etanol 96% dan diformulasikan menjadi sediaan gel konsentrasi 1%, 2%, dan 3%. Uji aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode paperdisk pada media Nutrient Agar (NA) yang telah diinokulasi bakteri uji, serta menggunakan klindamisin sebagai kontrol positif dan basis gel sebagai kontrol negatif. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa gel ekstrak daun melinjo efektif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Staphylococcus epidermidis. Dan konsentrasi optimum dari gel ekstrak daun melinjo yang dapat menghambat pertumbuhan Staphylococcus epidermidis adalah konsentrasi 3% dengan rata-rata diameter zona hambat 14,43 mm dengan kategori kuat.
