Abstract

There is not only street vendors’phenomenon but also there exist change of land function, the development of building and traffic density. Severaladditional activities to the developed area would relatively increase such impacts towards street vendor developmentin Sekaran, especially in Jalan Taman Siswa. This phenomenon is interesting to be studied because a part of JalanTaman Siswa becomes one of the important corridors in Semarang State University area. This corridor, unfortunately, has been changed into the center of street vendors. The data collecting employed by the writer wasobservation, interview, and documentation. This study employs qualitative approach. Whereas the method used isdescriptive design. By implementing this method, the writer will elaborate the problems appeared briefly andcomprehensively. Theoretical data are collected by reviewing the related literature, which means that the writergathers the data by reading much relevant literature. This data is managed by conducting analysis and applying thedata to the study. The existence of Unnes as one of the big campuses in Semarang triggers the occurrence of severalstudents' activities such as to fulfill students' daily necessity. Along Kinanti boarding house to Ulul Albab Mosque, there exist several supporting facilities for Unnes students and people around the campus. This is interesting sincethe occurrence of supporting activity such as PKL in that area has the strong relationship with the use of publicspaces. Thus, it could be formulated that the presence of PKL as activity support in Taman Siswa corridor increasesalong with the development of Semarang State University Campus.

Abstract

A building requires good ventilation planning, especially for health facility buildings. Ventilation plays a role in supplying clean air and creating good indoor air quality. This study identifies the air change rate that improves indoor air quality in health facility buildings in tropical areas. Direct field measurements were conducted in this study and then analyzed based on the appropriate recommendation standards. The results of this study show that some variables still need to meet the recommendation standards in meeting the requirements of good air quality. This proves that ventilation has an essential role in air conditioning in the room, creating clean and healthy air. This research provides an overview that ventilation needs to be carefully designed to achieve good air quality, so it is expected to reduce contaminants in the air.

Abstract

Semarang City is one of the big cities, of course, has a population growth rate that increases every year. To improve the quality of the needs of community activity spaces, we currently need a container that can accommodate individual and group activities. Coworking Space and Library is a building that was built to be a social and informative forum for the community, especially in Semarang City. The Coworking Space and Library was built to overcome the decline in the level of reading and social life of the community using the Humanist Architecture Approach, it is hoped that this can give the impression of safety and comfort and function as expected. The method used is the descriptive method, carried out by collecting and analyzing data to obtain planning and design concepts. The Humanist Architecture Approach prioritizes the five basic human needs according to Abraham Maslow and the elaboration of the theory by Jhon Lang, namely Physiological Needs, Safety Needs, Belonging Needs, Esteem Needs, and Self Actualization Needs. The application of this theory can solve the problem of the achievement of the Coworking Space and Library building in Semarang City.

Abstract

Poverty is a social phenomenon almost as old as the age of human civilization. Poverty and welfare are likened to two sides of a coin that are inseparable from how good the country's government is. Poverty indicators are generally caused by limited access to public services, the difficulty of accessing and receiving health services, the difficulty of getting easy access to information, and so on. Thus, the involvement of the bureaucracy, namely the government, is important because the problem of Poverty is the state's responsibility as the holder of government. The problem of Poverty is a complex problem that must be handled comprehensively across sectors, continuously and synergistically. This is because the problem of Poverty is the source and development of social problems, one of which is uninhabitable housing; therefore, Poverty must be handled seriously by both the government and society. The purpose of this event is to educate and help level the development of healthy and habitable houses, especially for the community in Kandri Village, Gunung Pati. This study enables researchers to gather objective data by identifying and characterizing current events through a qualitative approach. Gunung Pati District boasts potential natural resources that can be developed for agriculture, fisheries, plantations, and nature tourism. However, parts of the Kandri Village still face economic disparities. This situation is exacerbated by limited infrastructure, such as damaged roads and inadequate drainage, resulting in uneven development. Therefore, the Semarang City Government is implementing the Healthy and Livable Homes (Ruslani) program, which involves outreach, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.

Abstract

As the economy in Indonesia grows, the lifestyle of its people is dynamically changing. There is an increasing interest in fashion and beauty among the population, supported by the tendency of urban Indonesians to follow evolving fashion trends. Clothing (fashion) and beauty are crucial factors in personal appearance, thus creating a demand for facilities that cater to these needs within a single area. Semarang City is part of the mega-urban area known as Kedungsepur (Kendal, Demak, Ungaran, Salatiga, Semarang, and Purwodadi), which is a hub of urban development in Central Java. However, the growth of fashion and beauty in Semarang is uneven, despite the promising potential of the fashion and beauty industries to support local and regional economic growth. Therefore, there is a need for planning a facility that encompasses not only commercial aspects but also educational aspects within one area. The planning of a Fashion and Beauty Center aims to provide facilities to the community of Semarang City to support various activities such as shopping, salons, beauty treatments, fashion training, treatment training, makeup training, art galleries, and fashion shows. The application of a modern organic architectural approach in planning the Fashion and Beauty Center embodies the characteristics of fashion and beauty that are always evolving to be free-spirited, simple, functional, and elegant from year to year, while maintaining a balance with the surrounding environment.

Abstract

Bakaran Batik is a cultural heritage originating from Pati Regency. Burnt Batik has now been designated as one of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (WBTb) on a national scale. However, as time goes by, its existence among the community is starting to decline in Bakaran Batik. The planning of the Bakaran Batik Expo Gallery in Pati Regency is aimed at preserving the art of batik itself and presenting Bakaran Batik as batik which has its own characteristics, both in terms of motifs, patterns and colors, to the public. wide. The site used in planning the Bakaran Batik Expo Gallery in Pati Regency is located on Jalan Raya Sunan-Ngerang, Bakaran Kulon Village, Juwana District, Pati Regency, 59185. The Expo Gallery Batik Bakaran building applies the Neo-Vernacular architectural concept which adopts the form of a Joglo Traditional House. The environmental aspects used in designing the Bakaran Batik Expo Gallery include rain water harvesting, and the processing of batik waste that does not pollute the surrounding environment. From several planning and design approaches, a planning and design concept was obtained which was used as the basis for planning the design of the Bakaran Batik Expo Gallery in Pati Regency. Some of these approaches include the functional approach, structural approach, performance aspects approach, and architectural approach.
