Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see what the level of work stress was for members of National Search and Rescue Agency for Sibolga City before being given training, and after being given training on stress management. Furthermore, the research also highlighted whether there was an effect of stress management training on reducing work stress on members of National Search and Rescue Agency for Sibolga City. The method used in this study is a quantitative method of experimental design with the analysis technique of the T-test with paired sample T-test processed with SPSS version 20.0 for windows. The independent variable in this research is stress management training and the dependent variable is job stress. The population of this study are members of the National Search and Rescue Agency for Sibolga City. Sampling used purposive sampling while data collection techniques in this research used a psychological measuring instrument in the form of a scale, the work stress scale totaling 24 items. The results showed that before being given stress management training, 4 members of the National Search and Rescue Agency for Sibolga City had a high level of stress, and 4 people in the medium category. After being given stress management training, the stress level of BASARNAS members in Sibolga City decreased by 5 people in the medium category, and 3 people in the low category. Stress management training is effective in reducing work stress for members of the National Search and Rescue Agency for Sibolga City as evidenced by the significant index results of 0.000 (<0.050). Similar training in areas of work with potentially high levels of work stress is recommended to be implemented so that employee performance can be optimized due to efforts to manage employee stress.

Abstract

Mining is known as a high risk industry with a high accident rate. However, there is a dearth of materials that aim to hide and understand mining accident research trends and current scenarios related to this topic. Therefore, this systematic assessment aims to investigate research trends in mining accidents. By applying the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method, a systematic literature assessment (SLR) identified 57 cases related to mining accident issues from 2015 to 2019 from the ScienceDirect and Scopus databases. Based on these 57 studies, four main themes were raised, namely the main causes of mining accidents (46%), prevention of mining accidents (20%), and lawsuits (17%) and the impact of post-mining accidents (17%). The four themes produce a total of 35 sub-themes. Engineering failures are identified as a major cause of mining accidents and the application of safety software or models is essential to minimize the number of mining accidents. Mine owners have a responsibility to provide a safe working environment for their miners, and there are major challenges to achieving this. In addition, the impact of post-mining accidents has a negative impact on the environment. This systematic appraisal study aims to assist mine owners by providing a better understanding of the problem of mining accidents. This study is also addressed to miners, government, and policy makers so that all parties can jointly target mining accidents in the future.

Abstract

Stress at work is not a new phenomenon. Effective work stress management enables employees to maintain self-control in the work environment so that problems that arise can be accepted as challenges and not threats. The results of the study prove that emotional intelligence and interpersonal communication have an influence on stress management. Meanwhile, organizational commitment has no significant effect on work stress management. Another finding is that interpersonal communication has a significant effect on organizational commitment. Namely, that the influence of interpersonal communication on organizational commitment is determined by how close and individual needs to maintain relationships with certain social groups/organizations. Meanwhile, organizational commitment has no significant effect on interpersonal communication. This is a consequence of life in an era of abundance of information, where individuals can choose forms of communication from traditional to electronic media communications to maintain self-commitment to the organization.

Abstract

Mining is the most dangerous occupational sector in the world. Based on statistical data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, during 2019 there were mining accidents which resulted in the death of 24 people, 105 workers heavy and 28 workers light. The cause of work accidents in the workforce is related to exposure to underground mining toxic gases. This study used the Literature Review (LR) methodology where the data source was obtained from "Scopus" with search keywords the year of publication was limited from 2019 - 2023. From a literature review, predeposition factors consisting of age, work experience, work location and body parts have an effect on work accidents in workers, risk assessment factors are the most important factors applied to prevent work accidents in the workplace and the role of the company in influencing work accidents. Based on the research questions, it can be concluded that the causes of work accidents include: lack of knowledge and motivation in using personal protective equipment and not carrying out work permit compliance procedures, not using personal protective equipment and not having a work permit socialization. Factors such as worker age, work experience are not positively correlated with work accidents while work location and body parts influence the causes of work accidents. Risk assessment factors can be carried out to minimize the occurrence of work accidents. In addition, it is known that many companies have prioritized safety issues as evidenced by the many studies conducted by companies to prevent work accidents in the workforce.

Abstract

Occupational Health and Safety is an important matter that must be seriously considered in construction work to minimize the potential for work accidents, material and moral losses which will later be used to support effective and efficient performance improvements. PTPN VI has buildings with various forms and different functions and very busy work activities, so it is very important to take into account preparedness in dealing with emergencies so that excessive panic, losses and even fatalities do not occur. In the production environment, work accidents still occur on a moderate to severe scale. The purpose of this study is to find out how the implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SMK3) is described. Data collection for this study was carried out through observation of the field and work environment as well as distributing questionnaires to respondents. The results of the study show that all procedures in dealing with emergencies have been complied with and carried out by the management of the Occupational Health and Safety Advisory Committee (P2K3) in accordance with the provisions stipulated by Government Regulation Number 50 of 2012 concerning Implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3).

Research method This research uses literature review study methods and is qualitative. Literature search using a database in the form of secondary data from scientific articles / journals with the web using Google Scholar, or official article websites. Results a). Implementation of the K3 Plan, some companies have implemented K3 planning well but there are still those who are not aware of the use of PPE recommended rules. b). Review and Performance Improvement SMK3 has implemented regular review carried out in the form of meetings for 1 year in order to maintain maximum performance improvement of SMK3 at PT. Abstract

The safe work safety or safety culture model in oil palm plantations is challenging because the workforce, especially field workers, have a lower level of education. This is especially because field workers often come into contact with chemicals, both pesticides and fertilizers, as well as sharp work tools such as machetes, hoes and dodos. Previous research has shown that the risk of work accidents due to OSH is not implemented. However, to fully understand this issue requires a thorough literary awareness. In this study, the application of OSH in palm oil mills will be thoroughly reviewed in the literature. In this study, data and findings from previous studies will be collected, examined and synthesized.
