Abstract

The main purpose of processing palm oil is to produce Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and reduce fossil fuels. In January-June 2021, the CPO produced does not meet the company's quality standards that have been agreed with consumers. Under these conditions, it is necessary to carry out production analysis activities to measure the quality of CPO, using Seven Tools method and apply the Kaizen concept. Which aims to improve the quality of CPO and improve the work system at an oil palm plantation and processing in West Sumatra. Based on the results of the analysis of CPO quality using the Seven Tools method, it is known that the low quality of CPO is caused by 3 factors, namely free fatty acid content, water content and dirt content. Where from the calculation results using the Seven Tools, the highest level that affects the low quality of CPO is the Free Fatty Acid (ALB) content which happened 20 times, followed by 15 times the dirt content and 11 times the water content in the mentioned time period. The proposal for improving the work system with the Kaizen Concept uses the 5W+1H and PDCA methods, namely, collecting fruit right after harvesting and processing oil palm fruit quickly. In order not to accumulate in a long time, the fruit sorting process is carried out carefully so that the oil palm fruit is processed according to predetermined standards, providing training based on the employee's work division so that problems do not occur, employees are encouraged to take advantage of the rest time well, so that when working can concentrate, perform inspections and maintain overall cleanliness.

Abstract

This article presents research in the field of Supply Chain Management, the method used is descriptive exploratory method, using this research method it will be known about the object under study, resulting in conclusions from the research process carried out. The descriptive method is to find out and explain the characteristics of the variables studied in a situation and to describe aspects that are relevant to the research phenomenon. Research was conducted on this furniture business (CV. Budi Perabot), it is difficult for the company to determine the optimal amount of production because the demands of each retailer are different every month. After calculating the Bullwhip Effect using the Periodic Review method, it is known that the value of the Bullwhip Effect is a wardrobe of 1, a bed of 0.919, a dresser of 1.19, a display cabinet of 0.97. The application of the Periodic Review method has a positive impact because it is able to reduce or reduce the value of the Bullwhip Effect and minimize those in orders, demands and sales. In addition, the Periodic Review method is also able to create inventory at the recommended level on the number of orders. Comparison of the value of the Bullwhip Effect before applying the Periodic Review method for all products was 8,988 and after applying the Periodic Review method, it was reduced to 4,079. The comparison value was 4,909 after adding up all the products under study.

Abstract

One of the pivotal aspects of a company lies in its supply chain. The company must effectively and efficiently manage their supply chains to support production quality, achieve organizational goals, and ensure customer satisfaction. This research aims to determine the key performance indicators (KPIs) for the crumb rubber processing industry and provide suggestions for improving its supply chain performance. Supply chain performance measurement was conducted using the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model in conjunction with the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to determine the weights of the KPIs. The research found that the overall supply chain performance score for the crumb rubber company was 84.92, categorizing it as "Good." However, among the 26 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) identified, three indicators (i.e. production of defective products, consumer complaints, and returns of defective products) fell into the "Poor" category. Hence, it is crucial for crumb rubber industry stakeholders to address these three criteria to enhance supply chain performance.
