Abstract

The Metal Coating course in Unimed's Mechanical Engineering Education Department only uses learning media in the form of printed textbooks and there is no interactive media that can improve student competence in the affective and psychomotor domains. To increase student competency in metal plating courses, learning media in the form of interactive multimedia that has been validated for its quality is needed. This study aims to validate learning media in the form of interactive multimedia using the ADDIE development model. As for the three acquisitions of interactive multimedia validity, namely analysis of metal plating course requirements, determining learning objectives and designing interactive multimedia, as well as developing interactive multimedia involving several material experts, learning design experts, and learning media experts, as activity validators. Data collection techniques for interactive multimedia validation are carried out by distributing questionnaires. The validation assessment criteria used a Likert scale which was analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the validity of the material expert was 89.7% in the very good category, the learning design expert was 91.58% in the very good category and the learning media expert was 88.3% in the very good category. from these data it can be concluded that the use of interactive multimedia in the teaching and learning process in the metal plating course developed is very valid to be implemented in the teaching and learning process

Abstract

Kata kunci:  kelayakan, multimedia interaktif, model pembelajaran, ADDIE Abstract: The Learning Design course in the Unimed Mechanical Engineering Education Department is a compulsory subject, where one of the materials discusses the field of learning models which so far only use printed learning media in hardcopy and presented using Power Point media. To increase student competence, interactive learning media is needed. Given the unavailability of learning media in the form of interactive multimedia, an interactive multimedia learning model was developed using the ADDIE development model. The aims of this research was to determine the feasibility of interactive multimedia as the subject matter of the learning model using the ADDIE development model. The feasibility of interactive multimedia is obtained from the three stages of the ADDIE development model, namely: (1) analysis, conducting a needs analysis for the Learning Design course; (2) design, determining the learning objectives and designing interactive multimedia; (3) development, developing interactive multimedia by involving the experts of material, learning design and learning media as validators (ADD). Techniques of data collection to assess the feasibility of interactive multimedia are carried out by distributing questionnaires. The feasibility assessment criteria used a Likert scale, with category values of 5 (excellent), 4 (very good), 3 (good), 2 (fair) and 1 (poor), which were analyzed descriptively. The results of this study showed that the feasibility of material experts was 89.67%, instructional design experts 88.50%, and instructional media experts 86.33%. The main result can be concluded that the interactive multimedia subject of the learning model developed is very feasible to be implemented. Keywords: feasibility, interactive multimedia, learning model, ADDIE

Abstract

Technological developments demand that learning media be developed on an electronic basis. Availability of electronic modules in Engineering mechanics lessons is currently still not available. Even though students are required to solve cases in the field by mastering three concepts, namely mathematics, physics and mechanics independently. This research aims to determine the feasibility of a case-based engineering mechanics e-module. The research method uses the R&D method with a 4D development model. The stages of the 4D method are definition, design, development and distribution. The data collection technique was carried out by distributing questionnaires. Validation of the e-module was carried out by material experts, learning design experts and learning media experts who were analyzed descriptively. The research results showed that the feasibility score for material experts was 91.17% in the very good category, learning design experts 93.38% in the very good category, and learning media experts 89.83% in the very good category. Thus, it can be concluded that the case-based e-module developed is very suitable for use in learning engineering mechanics.
