Abstract

This study aims to analyze the reactualization of Islamic education in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in facing the challenges of the modern era and to formulate an educational model that integrates Islamic values with global demands. The study employed a qualitative approach with library research, through a review of various literature sources such as books, journal articles, and relevant scientific works. Data collection was conducted through documentation through academic databases, while data analysis employed thematic and descriptive analysis through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that Islamic education plays a crucial role in establishing a balance between intellectual intelligence and spiritual depth. While traditional Islamic educational institutions excel in character formation, pesantren are still required to adapt to current developments through the integration of technology and modern learning systems. The reactualization of Islamic education is a strategic step taken through reforming learning methods, integrating religious and general knowledge, and strengthening character education. Thus, Islamic education in pesantren is expected to produce a generation that is not only academically competent but also possesses good morals and is prepared to face changing times.

Abstract

The development of digital technology, globalization, and the diversity of society require Islamic education to develop a curriculum that is able to form religious, moderate, tolerant, and adaptive students to change. This research aims to examine various approaches in the development of a moderate Islamic education curriculum, including academic, humanistic, technological, social reconstruction subject approaches, competencies, value classification systems, integrated, problem-centered, and accountability. The research uses the library research method with data sources in the form of books, scientific journals, proceedings, and relevant academic articles. The data is analyzed through content analysis and thematic analysis. The results of the study show that the development of a moderate Islamic education curriculum requires the integration of various approaches in a multidimensional manner. The curriculum is not only oriented towards mastering Islamic science, but also strengthening humanistic values, digital literacy, social awareness, 21st century skills, and continuous evaluation. The integration is expected to be able to produce students who are religious, moderate, critical, creative, tolerant, and socially responsible. Abstract

This study aims to analyse the gap between the ideal demands of 21st-century pedagogical competence and the reality of technology adaptation experienced by teachers in their teaching practices. Rapid technological advancements require teachers to master modern pedagogical skills, including critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and the integration of pedagogical, content, and technological knowledge through the TPACK framework. However, various studies show that teachers still face significant barriers, such as low technological self-efficacy, inadequate training, and limitations in educational infrastructure. This research employs the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, utilising reputable academic sources to identify, evaluate, and synthesise findings related to teachers' pedagogical competence and technology adaptation. Thematic Content Analysis is used to map ideal competencies, the current state of technology adaptation, and sources of gaps. The results show that most teachers are still operating at a low level within the SAMR model, with technology use tending to be merely a substitution. This competency gap has a direct impact on learning effectiveness and student learning outcomes. The findings confirm the need for continuous professional development, redesigning teacher education curricula, and strong institutional support to bridge the gap between theory and practice. This research contributes to formulating the direction for improving teacher capacity in the digital era.
