Abstract

This research studies the life experience of interfaith marriage between Christian and Muslem. It aims to answer the following questions: (1) Do religious differences in interfaith marriage partners affect the success of building a family? (2) What are the factors that determine the success of building a family in interfaith couples? This research is qualitative study. The data were collected through the depth interview which were directly done face to face, and indirect interview through WhatsApp and Google Form. Forum Group Discussion was done also with some students who live in the interfaith marriage family. The respondents are cathegorized into the followings: (1) those living in the interfaith marriage between Christian and Muslem, (2) those who converted to other religions following that of the partners, (3) those who converted to the religion of the partners but then reconverted to their previous religions, (4) the parents of the children who do interfaith marriage, and (5) the children who live in the family with interfaith marriage. The results indicate that the difference of religion in the family is not the significant factor which determines the harmonious life in the family. Otherwise, tolerance, mutual concern, and the responsible attitude of each family member in their respective duties and roles are the most important factors. Therefore, the civil and religious laws which prohibit the interfaith marriage are actually not relevant. The civil law does not have authority to interfere the private sectors of family life. Then, religious law which prohibits the interfaith marriage must be revied and understood in its context to strive for the salvation of the religious people.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the meaning of love for the homeland from time to time, the concept of world citizenship, global citizenship, and cosmopolitanism in the global era, and analyze the urgency of patriotism education in the global era. This study used a qualitative method by explaining the feelings and ideas of the informants regarding the occurrence of a specific behaviour or symptom. The meaning of love for the homeland had shifted from ancient times, medieval times, to modern times. In ancient times, love for the homeland was regional; in the Middle Ages, it was personal; while in modern times, it was more national and national. The concepts of global citizenship, global citizenship, and cosmopolitanism in the global era showed connectivity and interdependence between humans in all parts of the world. The urgency of patriotism education in the global era was related to providing learning materials about global citizenship education or global citizenship education to instil awareness of universal humanitarian issues.

Abstract

Inkulturasi musik Gereja merupakan salah satu perwujudan dari hasil Konsili Vatikan II. Gereja Katolik Indonesia telah melaksanakan inkulturasi tersebut, antara lain dengan menciptakan lagu-lagu yang selaras dengan budaya daerah-daerah di Indonesia. Komunitas-komunitas dalam Gereja Katolik di Indonesia, khususnya Komunitas Karismatik Katolik sebagai salah satu komunitas yang besar dan khusus, berusaha memenuhi tuntutan inkulturasi tersebut agar dapat mengekspresikan iman sesuai dengan karakter komunitas-komunitas tersebut tanpa menyimpang dari ajaran dan teologi Katolik. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang berupa Lokakarya Mencipta Lagu Rohani Katolik ini diadakan atas inisiatif kerja sama dari Badan Pelayanan Provinsi Gerejawi Semarang Plus dengan tujuan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan lagu-lagu rohani yang sesuai dengan teologi Katolik.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini memiliki beberapa tujuan, yaitu (1) memberi penghormatan kepada lansia 70 tahun ke atas yang sudah berjasa besar dalam hidup mereka bagi pendidikan dan pengembangan anak-anak muda hingga dewasa; (2) memberi kesempatan kepada lansia untuk menyadari rahmat dan berkat-berkat yang telah diperoleh selama ini; (3) memberi kesempatan kepada lansia untuk menemukan kebutuhan dan beban-beban khusus yang dimiliki, serta menemukan cara-cara untuk meringankan dan melepaskan kebutuhan dan beban tersebut. Tidak seperti kegiatan-kegiatan lansia yang selama ini banyak dilakukan yaitu senam, bernyanyi-bermusik, tamasya, pengabdian masyarakat ini memilih model pendampingan rohani. Dengan kegiatan tersebut, peneliti ingin menjawab permasalahan, apakah pendampingan secara rohani memenuhi kebutuhan para lansia? Penelitian ini memberi jawaban afirmatif pada pertanyaan tersebut.
