Abstract

AbstractThe issue of global warming and its impact on the environment requires urgent consideration from the profession of architecture. One of the ideas for using the notion of ecology as an application and reaction to the issue of environmental harm is to create tourism destination amenities in the form of resorts in coastal areas. The issue that planners face is how to keep the resort building's architecture in keeping with the site's culture. The implementation of the concept of architectural ecology was employed in the design of the resort building on Kubu beach, based on the existing challenges. The implementation is carried out by attempting to keep the place cultivated as a green space. The Resort on Kubu Beach, which is one of Kotawaringin Regency's green space areas (GSA), incorporates the notion of architectural ecology into its design, both in terms of outdoor space and residential buildings and facilities. One of the design solutions is to make use of the natural environment while still providing the modern amenities that today's society requires.Keywords: site culture resort, architecture ecology

Abstract

This research describes the process, obstacles, and results in making a Virtual Reality Application of interactive interior using Unity 3D. In this research, we propose a VR application that supports interaction and VR views between users and the digital environment using computers and android smartphones. The study has three stages, namely input, process, and output. C# script was developed for user interaction with the digital environment. The user can interact in a small interior room with digital objects such as moving around, changing furniture color, and switching the light on or off. The research successfully created a virtual reality application using Unity3D for computers and android smartphones. This study clearly describes the step of making virtual reality applications and the problems encountered during the process—also, a more stabilized method for developing the interactive user feature. Moreover, the research brings another opportunity for VR application development that focuses on other VR development factors such as immersion, imagination, and insight.

Abstract

Kabupaten Buton berada di Sulawesi Tenggara dengan masyarakatnya yang kental dengan budaya dan tradisi turun temurun. Namun, perkembangan teknologi mempengaruhi minat masyarakat Buton terhadap pelestarian budaya lokal, terutama pada generasi muda. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah belum ada wadah komunitas pelaku kegiatan budaya dan wadah pengembangan budaya Buton. Salah satu usaha untuk menjaga nilai budaya local ialah perlu adanya wadah bagi pelaku budaya dan pengembangan budaya lokal tersebut, berupa bangunan cultural center yang sekaligus dapat digunakan sebagai fasilitas penunjang wisata di Kabupaten Buton. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menyusun konsep perancangan bangunan cultural center di Kabupaten Buton dengan pendekatan transformasi arsitektur tradisional. Pendekatan ini ditujukan agar nilai tradisional Buton terwujud dalam arsitektur bangunan cultural center yang dapat menjadi momen sejarah arsitektur tradisonal Buton. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis dengan mengungkap data eksisting dan dianalisis dengan konsep transformasi arsitektur tradisional Buton. Konsep perancangan yang dihasilkan berupa transformasi arsitektur tradisonal yang diterapakan pada: perletakan tata massa; pola tata ruang rumah adat malige; filosofi bentuk massa; ornamen; serta struktur pada bangunan rumah adat malige Buton.

Abstract

Buton Regency is in Southeast Sulawesi, with a society that is thick with culture and traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. However, along with technological developments, it has affected the interest of the Buton people in preserving local culture, especially in the younger generation who are starting to not care about local cultural values. The problem is, currently there is no place for the community of cultural activities and the place for the development of Butonese culture. One of the efforts to maintain local cultural values ​​is the need for a forum for cultural actors and the development of local culture, in the form of a cultural center building, which can also be used as a tourism support facility in Buton district. The purpose of this study is to develop a cultural center building design concept in Buton district with a traditional architectural transformation approach. This approach is intended so that the traditional values ​​of Butonese are realized in the architecture of the cultural center building, which can be a historical moment of traditional Buton architecture. The research method uses descriptive analytical methods, by uncovering existing data and analyzing it with the traditional Buton architectural transformation concept. The resulting design concept is a transformation of traditional architecture which is applied to: the mass layout; spatial patterns of Malige traditional houses; philosophy of mass forms; ornaments; and structures in the Malige Buton traditional house buildings.
