Abstract

The learning process consists of a combination of tactics, procedures, and approaches that have been incorporated to transmit information from teachers to students. Persuasive communication strategy is one of the strategies that teachers may use to improve students' learning motivation in physical education, sports, and health courses. This study employs a descriptive qualitative technique that focuses on a single case study to explain the phenomena under investigation. All previously selected informants were subjected to data collecting procedures involving in-depth interviews. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The data collected were analyzed qualitatively. The results found that persuasive communication increased students'' learning motivation. The teacher used varied strategies namely, using association techniques, techniques to integrate communicator abilities, reward techniques, and arrangement techniques, or icing techniques. The strategy used in communicating with students is through association, integration, reward and arrangement communication techniques or the icing technique. The use of persuasive communication strategies by teachers is the right and the most effective way to increase students'' learning motivation to enhance students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains.Keywords: Persuasive communication; Physical Education, Sports, and Health Teachers (PESHT); student motivation.

Abstract

The study illustrates the pattern of organizational communication on journalist's coverage in the Vice President's agenda. Journalists from various media form informational organizations in fulfilling the task of getting news. This study used a constructivist paradigm with a descriptive qualitative approach. The method used was a case study. Data collection was done by observing the journalist's communication patterns when reporting the vice president's agenda. In-depth interviews were conducted to journalists who conducted coverage in the vice president's office in 2019 and the vice president's secretariat. Other data were obtained from documents. This study found that organizational information communication was formed between journalists, vice president secretariat, and vice president itself. In terms of reporting, journalists follow information from the vice president's secretariat. However, journalists have many ways to get information about the Vice President's internal agenda. Communication patterns showed that journalists do their work by pursuing information from several sources.

Abstract

Ethnic and cultural diversity as well as a large number of urban districts does not make Aceh Province devoid of tourist visits, both national and foreign tourists. Each year there is an increase in the number of tourists, and it interests the author to find out more about the concept developed by the Aceh provincial government in developing existing tourist areas to be able to optimize every tourism area to attract tourists. This study used a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques by interview and literature study, interviews were conducted with the Head of the Communication Development and Marketing Strategy Section of the Aceh Culture and Tourism Office, Mr. M. Syahputra AZ, while a literature study done to add to the literature and data related to the research. This study found that the concept of developing a tourism area carried out by the Aceh Provincial Culture and Tourism Office is to divide the tourism area into three main areas, Area one includes Banda Aceh, Aceh Besar, and Sabang. The second area covers the central region, Aceh Tengah, Bener Meriah, and Gayo Lues, and the third area includes Simeulue and Singkil, where each area has its own tourist attraction.
