Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of OSIM in improving student worship discipline at MAN 2 Labuhanbatu Utara. This study uses a qualitative method with descriptive analysis. The sources of informants are the principal, supervising teacher, OSIM chairman and students. The data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and document studies. The data analysis techniques used in this study are data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the strategic role in improving student discipline through programs such as congregational Dhuhur prayers, Yasin memorization programs and prayers every Saturday, Islamic studies or lectures, Alms every Friday. OSIM also acts as a role model for students in carrying out religious values. Supporting factors for the role of OSIM include support from the school and teachers, while the inhibiting factor is the lack of student awareness in worshiping regularly.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze differentiated learning by utilizing multimedia in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning process at SMP IT Nurul Ilmi. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation of the learning process. Data analysis techniques were carried out descriptively and qualitatively through data reduction, narrative data presentation, and drawing conclusions based on research objectives. The results of the study show that differentiated learning integrated with multimedia has a positive impact on increasing student participation and understanding. Teachers are able to organize a variety of learning activities, such as interest-based group discussions, creative projects, and digital quiz-based practice questions such as Quizizz. Limited devices and low digital literacy among students are the main challenges that hinder the learning process. In general, this approach has been proven to increase learning motivation and build students' spiritual understanding in a deeper and more contextual way. As a recommendation for further research, it is necessary to explore the effectiveness of multimedia-based differentiated learning at various levels of education and other subjects.

Abstract

The increasing complexity of cultural, religious, and identity diversity in the era of digital transformation poses significant challenges to social cohesion, driven by technology mediated communication, social media dynamics, and digital information flows that may intensify polarization, intolerance, and disinformation. This study examines multiculturalism from an Islamic perspective by analying its theological foundations, particularly the principles of ta’aruf, tasamuh, ‘adl, tawazun, rahmah, and shura, and by explaining the role of religious moderation (wasatiyyah) as an ethical framework for addressing social and digital challenges. Using a qualitative library research approach, data were collected from primary Islamic sources, including the Qur’an, Sunnah, and classical exegesis, as well as relevant contemporary literature, and analyzed thematically to identify conceptual patterns and interrelationships. The findings indicate that religious moderation plays a strategic role in strengthening social harmony and guiding ethical engagement in digital spaces, especially in response to social media communication, online religious discourse, and challenges related to algorithms and disinformation. The novelty of this study lies in integrating Islamic theological principles particularly wasatiyyah and ummatan wasathan with contemporary theories of strategic management and digital transformation, contributing to the development of multicultural education adaptive to digital society and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably SDG 4, SDG 10, and SDG 16.
