Abstract

Forest for special purpose of Mengkendek (KHDTK Mengekendek) which directly adjacent to settlement is vulnerable to encroachment, illegal logging, illegal grazing, and forest fires. Requiring the involvement of stakeholders in helping to overcome the existing problems so that the objectives of KHDTK Mengkendek can be realized. This study aims to identify, mapping and formulate the role of stakeholders in the management KHDTK Mengkendek. The data was collected through interviews and focus group discussions then analyzed in descriptive qualitative. The results showed that there are six stakheholders in the management KHDTK Mengkendek. Forestry Research Institute of Makassar, Forestry Office of Tana Toraja, government village/lembang, and traditional institutions (tongkonan) are key players in the management KHDTK Mengkendek. Communication and coordination with the stakeholders must be done well so that the objectives of KHDTK Mengkendek management can be realized.

Abstract

Salah satu misi Balai Taman Nasional Bantimurung Bulusaraung (TN Babul) adalah mengembangkan kelembagaan dan kemitraan/kolaborasi dalam rangka pengelolaan sumberdaya alam hayati dan ekosistemnya. Untuk mengembangkan pengelolaan kolaborasi TN Babul, maka aktivitas-aktivitas Balai TN Babul sudah seharusnya mengarah kepada perwujudan misi pengelolaan kolaborasi sejak misi tersebut ditetapkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan memberikan gambaran mengenai fondasi pengelolaan kolaborasi TN Babul yang telah terbangun dalam mewujudkan misi tersebut di atas. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kegiatan wawancara dengan sejumlah informan kunci seperti aparat desa dan kecamatan, tokoh masyarakat, aparat instansi teknis terkait, dan staf dosen Universitas Hasanuddin. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan model deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fondasi pengelolaan kolaborasi TN Babul (jaringan kerja, koordinasi, dan kerjasama dengan stakeholder lainnya) belum terbangun dengan baik. Kondisi ini akan mempengaruhi keberhasilan pencapaian misi pengelolaan kolaborasi yang telah ditetapkan sebelumnya.

Abstract

To enhance active participation of local communities in forest management, the benefit of forest services to fulfill their basic need should be maximized. This research has been carried out to examine the potential of forest and the village to be an energy self-sufficient village. The specific objectives of the research are to: 1) acquiring data of village potential for microhydro development, 2) establishing a microhydro installation by maximizing the benefit of water power, and 3) acquiring data of potential impact of microhydro development on well local community participation and awareness. The research methods were direct observation, interviews and descriptive analysis. Based on field situation, the design and manufacture of turbine engine has been assembled to produce electricity of 10 KVA. Consumers were 131 households allied in group to operate the microhydro properly. The establishment of microhydro have enhanced positive perception on forest-water yield, collective participation, awareness and sense of ownership of the villagers to forest ecosystem.
