Abstract

The university students in six ASEAN Countries have 11,7% of suicidal ideation and 2,4% of suicide attempts. Suicidal ideation is a person’s thoughts to end his/her life, while attempted suicide is the behavior of self harm-with the intention to die. The reasons are hopelessness, depression, relationship break-up, lack of social support, financial crisis, and academic stress. Therefore, there are prevention programs to reduce the impact of these maladaptive thoughts and behaviors. This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of how suicide prevention programs can give positive effects on reducing suicidal ideation and suicide attempt. Data were collected from five databases, which included Google Scholar, ResearchGate, Sciencedirect, JStore, and Emerald. This study synthesized the finding of 10 studies published from 2018 to 2022. The results reveal some suicide prevention programs to overcome suicide by reducing suicidal ideation and suicide attempts. The programs consist of university suicide prevention programs such as psychoeducation, training, and peer leadership; screening tools to know a student with a high risk of mental health problems connected with suicide; gatekeeping training for lecturers, university administrators, and counselors; curriculum evolved mental health; and peer to peer support programs. Furthermore, the involvement of the university is important to focus on the community, use technology, and make networking between educational institutions and mental health services. Assessment is needed to give data about students with a high risk of suicidal ideation and suicide attempt. The result of prevention programs reduce suicidal thoughts and behavior by understanding and giving social support to students.

The purpose of this study was to get an overview of interactions in online teaching in terms of gender. The research was descriptive quantitative. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with 380 students as participants. Research instrument used interaction scale consists of four aspects such as student-student interaction, student-student interaction with content, student-instructor interaction, and student-student interaction with technology. The data analysis technique uses descriptive statistics. The results showed that student interaction was in the moderate category (70.5%). Interaction with technology sub-component shows the least amount in the low category compared to the other sub-components. Based on gender, there are differences in student interactions in online learning between female and male students. Abstract

Inclusive education aims to create an equitable learning environment for all students, including those with special needs. However, the dynamics of social relations between regular students and special need students remain a serious challenge, particularly in the form of limited empathy and persistent negative stereotypes toward special need students. This study seeks to examine the effectiveness of Social-Emotional Training in enhancing empathy among regular students in inclusive schools. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design, involving 25 students from TPA Jember Inclusive Vocational School, divided into experimental and control groups. The training was conducted over two weeks and encompassed five social-emotional components: self-awareness, emotion regulation, behavior monitoring, empathy, and social skills. Empathy was measured before and after the intervention using an empathy scale adapted from Bryant’s Empathy Index. Mixed ANOVA analysis revealed a significant increase in empathy among students in the experimental group compared to the control group (p < 0.01), with an effect size of 48.3%. These findings indicate that social-emotional training can foster empathy among regular students and support the development of an inclusive social environment. This study provides practical contributions to the advancement of psychosocial intervention programs in inclusive schools.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of education for children with special needs (ABK). Being an ABK teacher is one of the most challenging and stressful jobs in the world of education. The various demands of being an ABK teacher also become obstacles in completing the tasks of being a ABK teacher. This is also felt by ABK teachers at the Matahari Banyuawangi Foundation. This will make teachers potentially experience work stress if they do not have self-confidence in their ability to complete their roles and be assigned. Confidence in one's abilities will lead to a greater feeling of internal control over the work one does. So that self-efficacy possessed by teachers is an important role in reducing work stress faced, with high self-efficacy individuals will have a strong feeling or belief in being able to complete certain tasks, so that individuals will be able to carry out various efforts to achieve goals and hopes of becoming a special needs teacher at the Matahari Banyuawangi Foundation. This research aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy in teaching and stress levels in teachers of children with special needs at the Matahahari Banyuwangi Foundation. This research uses a quantitative approach with a correlation type. Researchers used the entire population and the testing strategy used was the saturated sampling method. The data collection technique in this research used a questionnaire. The instrument in this research uses two scales, namely the self-efficacy scale and the stress level scale. This scale has gone through a validity test with the overall item result being r count > r table (r table of 0.361 for ???? = 5%) and also through a reliability test with Cronbach's Alpha results >0.60. The data analysis technique used is the Pearson product moment correlation test. The correlation test carried out obtained a significance value of 0.000<0.05. The r value obtained was 0.831. Self-efficacy in this study contributed 83.1% to stress levels and the remaining 16.9% was influenced by factors other than the variables examined in the research. In conclusion, the hypothesis proposed by researchers in this study can be accepted, namely that there is a significant relationship between self-efficacy in teaching and stress levels in teachers of children with special needs at the Matahari Banyuwangi Foundation.
