Abstract

This research was aimed to improve student’s ability in writing appropriate with unggah-ungguh basa and well-mannered attitude in class VII E of  SMP 5 Madiun, using guided discovery learning model. This class action research was conducted in two cycles, which every cycles consisted of action planning, action, observing, and reflecting. The subject of the research were the students of class VII E SMP Negeri 5 Madiun which consist of 34 students. The sources of the data were from the teacher, the students, and teaching-learning process. The technique of collecting data used were test, observation, interview, and documentation. Triangulation technique, which were triangulation data and triangulation method, was used  to test the validity of the data. The technique to analize the quantitative data was statistic descriptive comparative technique, whereas to analize qualitative data was critical analysis technique. The research model used spiral model (planning, acting, observing, and reflecting). The result of this research showed that after implemented guided discovery learning model, students’s ability in writing appropriate with unggah-ungguh basa and well-mannered attitude have changed to be better. Based on the test of students’s ability in writing appropriate with unggah-ungguh basa, the percentage of the class passing grade increased from 37,5% in pre-cycle, became 66,7% in cycle 1 and 79,2% in cycle 2 from the total of 24 students. Meanwhile the improvement of well-mannered attitude based on observation and questionnaire about well-mannered attitude, was 41,7% during pre-cycle, then improved to 70,8% in cycle 1 and 87,5% in cycle 2. Based on the result and the discussion of the research, the conclusion that can be drawn is that the implementation guided discovery learning model can improve students’s ability in writing appropriate with unggah-ungguh basa and well-mannered attitude in class VII E of SMP 5 Madiun.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe (1) the story that underlies the birth of the Ruwatan murwakala customs; (2) semiotic analysis in the text of the ruwat Murwakala mantra; and (3) how the relevance of ruwat murwakala mantra as a teaching material of Javanese poetry in Senior High School. The research is the descriptive qualitative research using oral literary approach. The data of this research was written data which was mantra ruwat murwakala texs. Sources of data used are informants, document of the ruwatan murwakala story places, and events. Sampling technique used is purposive sampling and simple random sampling. Technique of collecting data used is technique of record, recording, interview, observation, and document analysis. Data validity is obtained through theory trianguation and source triangulation. The data analysis technique was interactive analysis. The research procedure were arrangement, implementation, and report composing. Based on this research it can be concluded: (1) the story that underlies the birth of ruwatan murwakala custom originated from the habit of the Javanese who often connect an event with other events that are considered as an impact of an event. Therefore, the Javanese society has a variety of assumptions that became the basis of a ritual to avoid by mistakes that have been made, the ceremony or ritual was then called the term ruwatan. The category of people which have to be ruwat is the bocah sukêrta. The ruwatan ceremony was led by a dhalang ruwat who was also in charge of performing leather puppets with murwakala plays; (2) the semiotic analysis performed on spells is an analysis of icons, indices, and symbols. it was Found seven mantras containing icons, while nine spells do not contain icons. it is Found fourteen mantras containing the index, while the two spells do not contain the index. it is Found two mantras containing symbols, while fourteen mantras do not contain symbols; (3) The mantra text taken from mantra ruwat murwakal can be used as learning material of Javanese language in SMA. The feasibility of mantra ruwat murwakala is used as teaching material because it is in accordance with the basic competency in Education Unit Level Curriculum (KTSP). In addition, the text of the mantra ruwat murwakala is written using the ancient Javanese language and the middle Java language, so it will add the vocabulary of the Java language owned by the students.

Abstract

This research aimed to (1) describe and explain the intrinsic elements contained in the cerkak - cerkak of the Panjebar Semangat magazine on the Edition (1 - 53) in 2016; (2) describe the social condition of the society contained in the cerkak-cerkak of the Panjebar Semangat magazine on the Edition (1 - 53) in 2016; (3) Describe and explain the relevance of the cerkak-cerkak of the Panjebar Semangat magazine on the Edition (1 - 53) in 2016. This was a qualitative research with descriptive qualitative method. The sources of the data in this study were documents and informants. The validity of the data was triangulation theory and the source. The sampling technique used in this research was purposive sampling technique. Technique of collecting data used reading and interviewing techniques. There were 4 Data analysis techniques used in this research, those were domain analysis, taxonomy, component, theme and cultural. Based on the results of the research and discussion written on chapter IV about cerkak analysis, social condition of the society, and the relevance as learning material of literature appreciation subject on high school student, it was concluded that the analysis of 6 cerkak containing child literature element was suitable to read for student.

Abstract

This research aims to describe and explain (1) the stylistic aspect in geguritan Aja Nganti Kamanungsan by Suksmawan Yant Mujiyanto; (2) the educational value in geguritan Aja Nganti Kamanungsan by Suksmawan Yant Mujiyanto (3) the relevance of collection geguritan Aja Ngani Kamanungsan by Suksmawan Yant Mujiyanto as Javanese teaching material for 12nd grade of Senior High School. This research is qualitative research. Therefore, the method of research is descriptive qualitative. The approach used is stylistic. The data and source data of this research are document and informants from 12th grade students, the document is in form of geguritan Aja Nganti Kamanungsan by Suksmawan Yant Mujiyanto and informants are 12th grade students, Javanese teacher, literature expert, and author. The data collection technique uses document/content analysis and interview. The sampling technique of research subject done with particular consideration called purposive sampling. The technique of data test validity in this research uses source and theory triangulation. Meanwhile, data analysis technique of this research uses interactive analysis technique. Based on the research result, geguritan collection Aja Nganti Kamanungsan by Suksmawan Yant Mujianto has some stylistic aspects and educational values which are applicable to Javanese teaching material for 12th grade of Senior High School. Stylistic aspects here are phoneme, diction, syntax, figurative language and imagery. As for educational values here namely religious education value, morale, and social. From the five stylistic aspects above, the phoneme especially for assonance has the highest domination in geguritan collection Aja Nganti Kamanungsan which is relevant as teaching material for 12th grade of Senior High School which is expected not only useful in the formal education, but also useful in the informal education like in the society by applying the educational values in daily lives.
