Abstract

The initial basis of the research was carried out because of the low mathematical scores of students, which was caused by the lack of student motivation in learning because learning still used the lecture method. The study aims to describe the results of learning mathematics using the Cooperative Learning Model Type Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) at SMPN Negeri 23 Merangin Academic Year 2024/2025. This study uses classroom action research (CAR) which was carried out for 2 cycles, each cycle 3 meetings, the research sample was 31 students of class VIII B SMPN Negeri 23 Merangin and focused on learning outcomes and student activities in class. The results of the study showed that in the pre-cycle, 35% (11 people) achieved the specified KKTP, which was ≥75, after implementing the Cooperative method type Team Assisted Individualization (TAI), the student's grades obtained increased, in the first cycle an increase was obtained to 74.20% (23 people), because it had not reached the KKTP so it was declared incomplete. The research continued in cycle II and obtained mathematics learning outcomes of 87.09% (27 students) who completed the learning according to the KKTP. For student activity, the percentage increased from 71% to 83%, an increase of 12%. From these results, the Cooperative Model of the Team Assisted Individualization type was proven to increase grades, especially in class VIII A of SMP Negeri 23 Merangin.

Abstract

Saung Harmony Sambidolan is a community that provides knowledge outside of school hours. This saung is not tied to the curriculum; the rules used are flexible and are in the form of habits that are considered suitable to teach to children. The results of observations carried out by KKN-PPM students at Merangin University found that the children's interest in mathematics was very low, and the children's mindset towards mathematics had shifted to a harmful level. For this reason, it is necessary to provide additional tutoring in mathematics subjects with the aim of increasing students' interest in learning mathematics subjects and improving children's mindsets towards mathematics subjects. The method applied by students to tutoring activities is in the form of providing additional mathematics learning hours based on snakes and ladders media as a new form of innovation in learning. The output of this activity is that it is able to increase students' interest in learning mathematics subjects and improve children's mindsets towards mathematics subjects.

Abstract

The ability to memorize multiplication tables is a fundamental aspect of learning mathematics, often posing a challenge for children in Tanjung Benuang Village. This study aims to enhance multiplication memorization skills through a structured and creative tutoring program. The program utilizes engaging learning methods, including multiplication songs, educational games, and flashcards. The research approach includes identifying needs, implementing the program, and evaluating outcomes. Results show a significant improvement in children's multiplication memorization skills, supported by weekly evaluations. Additionally, the program successfully increased confidence, independent learning abilities, and interest in mathematics. These findings suggest that tutoring programs can be an effective means of improving basic math skills in rural areas.

Abstract

The utilization of facilities and infrastructure at the Integral Institute Tutoring Institute, Sungai Ulak District, Nalo Tantan District, Merangin Regency is the focus of this research. This research aims to determine how the facilities and infrastructure at the madrasah are utilized to improve the quality of learning and provide recommendations for optimizing their utilization. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method to understand in detail the utilization of facilities and infrastructure at the Integral Institute Tutoring Institute, Sungai Ulak District, Nalo Tantan District, Merangin Regency. The results of the research are expected to assist the institution's management in planning the development of more effective facilities and infrastructure and improving the quality of learning. In addition, this research can be an example for other tutoring institutions in optimizing the utilization of educational facilities and infrastructure. Although the Integral Institute Tutoring Institute, Sungai Ulak District, Nalo Tantan District, Merangin Regency does not yet have complete facilities and infrastructure and internet access, there is still great potential to improve the quality of learning through optimal utilization of existing facilities and infrastructure. This study aims to provide a deeper understanding of the utilization of facilities at the Integral Institute Tutoring Center in Sungai Ulak District, Nalo Tantan Regency, Merangin Regency, and how this utilization can be improved to achieve better learning quality. This research is also expected to serve as a reference for other madrasahs in optimizing the use of educational facilities and infrastructure.
