Abstract

Self efficacy has an important role in student achievement, high self efficacy will encourage students to excel and low self efficacy makes it difficult for students to achieve achievements in their studies. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing chat room-based blended learning on self-efficacy and student learning outcomes and the relationship between self-efficacy and learning outcomes. This study used a Quasi-Experimental method with a pretest-posttest Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique with a total sample of 134 students consisting of the experimental group and the control group. The instrument used to measure self-efficacy uses a questionnaire containing 45 statements, while learning outcomes are measured using 40 multiple choice questions. Data analysis used covariance analysis at a significant level of 0.05, while analysis of the relationship between self-efficacy and learning outcomes used Pearson's Product Moment correlation analysis. The results showed that there was an effect of self-efficacy and student learning outcomes (p <0.05) and there was a significant relationship between self-efficacy and student learning outcomes after implementing chat room-based blended learning. The conclusion of the study is that there is a positive influence on the implementation of chat room-based blended learning on self-efficacy and student learning outcomes in the human movement system material and there is a positive and significant relationship between self-efficacy and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This article discusses challenges in achieving quality education, especially improving teacher quality, learning motivation, and effective communication skills between instructors and students. This phenomenon includes a decrease in learning motivation due to the 'shutdown' of learning, as well as the need for a learning model that can see student potential holistically based on reason and heart. While many instructors do not pay attention to effective learning methods in improving the quality of education, it is necessary to provide a supportive learning environment for all students and how to improve positive communication skills between instructors and students. This community service activity was carried out by lecturers from Syiah Kuala University to the Islamic Student Association (HMI) Aceh. The result of implementing this learning model is to produce increased understanding and strategies in the way of learning, especially to increase learning motivation, academic scores, and positive attitudes toward learning among students. The application of innovative learning models such as the Quantum Learning Model, together with the strengthening of positive communication skills between teachers and students, can be an effective step in improving the quality of education and addressing gaps in achieving educational equity.

Abstract

Abstract

The low learning motivation of students is a classic problem that often occurs in the teaching and learning process and has an impact on learning outcomes. One way that can be used by teachers in solving motivational problems and student learning outcomes is by applying innovative learning media such as e-modules combined with guided inquiry learning models. This study aims to determine differences in learning motivation, differences in increasing learning outcomes and the relationship between motivation and student learning outcomes through the application of e-modules combined with guided inquiry on the material structure and function of plant tissue. This research is quantitative with experimental research methods and research design Pre-test Post-test Control Group Design. The population in this study were 214 students from class XI IPA at SMAN 1 Darul Imarah and SMAN 1 Peukan Bada Aceh Besar. The research sample consisted of 121 students who were divided into two classes, namely the control class and the experimental class. The parameters of this study are the motivation and learning outcomes of students. The instrument for measuring motivation used 36 items of the ARCS motivational questionnaire, while learning outcomes were measured using 40 multiple choice tests. The increase in learning outcomes is calculated by the N-gain formula. Data analysis to see differences in motivation and differences in increasing learning outcomes used Mann Whitney test analysis, while analysis of the relationship between motivation and learning outcomes used Pearson's Product Moment correlation analysis. The results showed that there were differences in students' learning motivation (p <0.05), there were significant differences in increasing learning outcomes (p <0.05), there was a significant relationship between motivation and student learning outcomes. The conclusion of this study is that there are differences in motivation and differences in the increase in student learning outcomes after applying learning using e-modules combined with guided inquiry.

Abstract

The low ability of students to comprehend and connect information, as well as the problems they face, contributes to a low level of scientific literacy. The application of the integration of problem-based learning models with guided inquiry worksheets in this study aims to examine the improvement of students' scientific process skills (SPS) and critical thinking abilities (CTA). A non-equivalent control group design with pretest-posttest was used as the research design. The sample consisted of students from Class X MIA-1 and X MIA-2, selected through purposive sampling technique. Data obtained from the observation sheets on SPS and test questions were analyzed using the SPSS application with the analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) test. The results showed a probability sig. of 0.907 > 0.05 for SPS and a probability sig. of 0.598 < 0.05 for CTA. The research findings concluded that the application of the integration of problem-based learning models with guided inquiry worksheets can significantly enhance students' scientific process skills and critical thinking abilities.
