Abstract

The behavior of God's people in interpreting words often results in misinterpretation, so that this causes mistakes in interpreting certain words in the Bible. However, this is only a misunderstanding, because the Bible is never wrong, but human thinking does not reach the contents of the Bible. This study aims to provide a deeper understanding so that readers can understand the meaning of words like "man" in Book 1 Kings 2:2, so as not to misinterpret these words. This study uses qualitative methods, namely interviews and literature. The informants in this interview were: 1. Erika Dame Simorangkir 2. Sondang Lubis 3. Bintahan Harianja, M.Th. 4. Bill Dubois 5. Tiorinta Siboro. Thus, the conclusion of this research is "behave like a man" in Book 1 Kings 2:2 is a figurative word for Solomon to act decisively as a leader

Abstract

Christian Religious Education is an integral part of believers' lives that functions to shape faith, character, and spirituality based on God's Word. In its implementation, CRE requires a strong theological foundation in order to fulfill its role as a means of holistic human development. This article aims to examine the nature and theological foundations of Christian Religious Education, including the concept of theology in Christian education, the nature of education from a Christian perspective, the biblical foundations of Christian Religious Education in the Old and New Testaments, the Great Commission as the basis of Christian education, the purpose of education according to God's will, and the relationship between theology and education. This study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach through the examination of books, scholarly articles, and other relevant academic sources. The data were analyzed using content analysis techniques to obtain a systematic understanding of the concepts under study. The findings indicate that Christian Religious Education is rooted in biblical theology that recognizes God as the source and ultimate goal of education. Its primary foundations are found in God's command to teach His Word and in Jesus Christ's Great Commission to make disciples of all nations. Christian education aims to form individuals who know God, possess Christlike character, develop their potential holistically, and become witnesses of Christ in society. Therefore, the integration of theology and education serves as an essential foundation for developing relevant and transformative Christian education.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1) to determine the influence of Christian Religious Education teachers' teaching styles on the learning motivation of Protestant Christian students in private elementary schools across the Batam Kota District; 2) to determine the influence of interactive learning media on the learning motivation of these students; and 3) to determine the combined influence of Christian Religious Education teachers' teaching styles and interactive learning media on the learning motivation of these students. A descriptive quantitative method was employed. The population consisted of all 115 Protestant Christian students in private elementary schools across the Batam Kota District, all of whom were designated as the research sample. Instrument testing was conducted on 30 fourth- and fifth-grade students from Valentin Batam Elementary School in Lubuk Baja District outside the actual research sample confirming that all research instruments were valid and reliable. Data were collected using a questionnaire comprising 72 positive, closed-ended items. Data analysis results indicated that: 1) the Fcount > Ftable (k;n-2) (2;113) is 71,923 > 3,07 demonstrating a positive and significant influence of Christian Religious Education teachers' teaching styles on student learning motivation, contributing 38,9%); 2) the Fcount > Ftable (k;n-2) (2;113) is 50,282 > 3,07 demonstrating a positive and significant influence of interactive learning media on student learning motivation, contributing 30,8%; and 3) the Fcount > Ftable (k;n-2) (2;113) is 47,217 > 3,07 demonstrating a positive and significant combined influence of teaching styles and interactive learning media on student learning motivation, contributing 45,7%. Consequently, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, and the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected
