Kata Kunci: Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2; karakteristik; terapi insulin; Abstract Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a global health problem that continues to increase significantly. Insulin therapy is one of the main pillars of treatment for T2DM patients to achieve glycemic control. However, challenges in achieving optimal glycemic control are still found, especially in areas with limited resources. The aim of this study is to identify and describe the profile and characteristics of T2DM patients undergoing insulin therapy, including demographic characteristics and clinical data indicating glycemic control. This study used a cross-sectional design involving 104 T2DM patients undergoing insulin therapy. The results showed that the average age of respondents was 57.63 years (±11.21), with the majority being female (60.6%). The average HbA1c level was 8.86% (±2.01), and as many as 76% of patients had uncontrolled glycemic control (HbA1c > 7%). The premixed insulin regimen was the most commonly used regimen (47.1%), followed by the basal-bolus regimen (21.2%), basal (17.3%), and bolus (14.4%). In addition, 52.9% of participants had been diagnosed with diabetes for more than five years, while 76% had used insulin therapy for five years or less. This study shows that there is still a significant gap in achieving glycemic control among T2DM patients using insulin therapy. Keywords: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus; characteristic; insulin therapy
