Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membedah semiotika yang terdapat di dalam film Pretty Boys. Dalam film tersebut terdapat pesan-pesan implisit yang berkaitan dengan dua hal besar yakni transpuan dan industri televisi. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kualitatif dengan pembedahan menggunakan metode semiotika Roland Barthes. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa stigma negatif yang menempel pada sosok transpuan ternyata dimanfaatkan oleh industri televisi untuk mendongkrak rating. Tidak hanya itu, ada upaya eksploitasi sekaligus tersirat unsur pemaksaan untuk berlaku selayaknya transpuan demi mengejar rating. Kata Kunci: Transpuan, Roland Barthes, Pretty Boys

Abstract

This research discusses the phenomenon of using the NGL Link or Not Gonna Lie feature on Instagram, which allows users to answer anonymous questions. It highlights the Communication Privacy Management (CPM) theory and its relevance to understanding how individuals manage their personal information. The research aims to explore the motivations of micro-influencers, specifically from Generation Z, in using the NGL Link feature and how they manage communication privacy on their Instagram main accounts. The methods used in this qualitative research include interviews and data documentation. The results and discussion section presents the findings from interviews with four micro-influencers, highlighting their different approaches to communication privacy management and motivations for using the NGL Link feature. One interesting finding is the existence of an illusion of closeness between micro-influencers and their followers on social media.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology in the digital era has facilitated easy and quick communication. This has led to the emergence of digital marketing innovations that significantly impact the sales of products and services. In the electronic cigarettes industry, Foom_id has been actively engaging in marketing communication through social media since 2019. The objective of this research is to examine the social media marketing strategies implemented by Foom_id on Instagram to enhance brand awareness. This qualitative research adopts a case study methodology. Data collection involves in-depth interviews with individuals responsible for managing Foom_id's Instagram account. Construct validity is employed to ensure data validity, while data analysis utilizes the technique of pattern matching. The findings of this study indicate that the utilization of social media marketing strategies in marketing communication through Instagram can effectively enhance brand awareness. Foom_id creates engaging content, including Q&A sessions, collaborations, and trending topics, to increase consumer awareness
