The increasing complexity of contemporary social life and the rapid expansion of digital literacy have significantly transformed daʿwah (Islamic preaching). Today, da'i (preachers) must not only master religious knowledge but also demonstrate adaptive, managerial, communicative, and methodological competencies in engaging diverse audiences across digital platforms and dynamic socio-cultural contexts. This study examines the urgency of competency-based daʿwah management education as a strategic foundation for cultivating professional Islamic preachers who can navigate social complexity and digital challenges effectively. Employing a qualitative library-based approach, the research analyzes classical and contemporary scholarship on daʿwah, management theory, professionalism, and digital literacy. The findings indicate that professional daʿwah demands an integrated framework that combines theological depth, strategic planning, leadership skills, ethical communication, and digital adaptability. Competency-based education fosters systematic program design, contextual engagement, and sustainable outreach. Without such reformulation, daʿwah risks fragmentation and declining relevance in rapidly evolving digital public spheres.
