Abstract

Songke fabrics with libo, wela kaweng and su'I motifs are a type of Indonesian textile work. Songke cloth with libo, wela kaweng and su'I motifs is a textile work from Perak village, Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. This research takes the topic of the libo, wela kaweng and su’I motifs on songke cloth in Perak village, Manggarai Regency, because these motifs are superior motifs that are often produced and a cultural heritage that has its own meaning and function. Therefore, this study aims to determine the visual aesthetic meaning and function of songke cloth in libo, wela kaweng and su'I motifs on songke cloth. The data sources in this study are the figures of songke cloth craftsmen, the village head, and cultural observers. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative with an explanation through the data obtained from data collection using the method of observation, documentation, and direct interviews. The results of this study show that the libo motif means the relationship between humans and the natural surroundings where in everyday life humans always need water to sustain life. The wela kaweng motif means a plant that can be used as medicine to heal and treat livestock wounds in ancient times and the su’I motifs means as a bridge that separates the customs between the tribes in the Silver Village. Songke fabrics with libo, wela kaweng and su'I motifs are used by the Manggarai community in attending traditional ceremonies such as engagements, weddings, penti (year-end thanks giving or every harvest) and funerals.

Abstract

Kawasan kampung Gedung tarukan merupakan salah satu wilayah yang berada di timur kota Surabaya yang tergolong asri dan indah, hal ini dapat dijumpai dengan banyaknya penghijauan yang dilakukan disetiap Kawasan kampung. Selain penghijauan, banyak juga kawasan di kampung Tarukan masih terlihat kurang bersih, salah satunya adalah tembok atau dinding rumah yang berhadapan dengan jalan pintu masuk Kawasan kampung masih terlihat kurang indah dan rapi. Untuk memberikan kesan keindahan yang lebih, maka perlukiranya ditambahkan unsur estetik yang ditampilkan dalam bentuk visual yaitu mural. Berangkat dari permasalah tersebut maka prodi Pendidikan seni rupa melakukan pendampingan pembuatan mural di dinding Gedung pintu masuk Kawasan kampung Gedung Tarukan. Pelaksanaan pendampingan mural ini dilakukan dalam 3 tahapan, antara lain: perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi, subjek dari kegiatan ini sebanyak 17 mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Seni Rupa. Dari hasil kegiatan pendampingan mural tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa adanya peningkatan skil dan pemahaman dari peserta yang mengikuti proses pembuatan mural. Selain itu hasil dari pendampingan mural ini memberikan perbaikan Kawasan kampung Gedung Tarukan Surabaya.

Abstract

Kedungsari village is one of the areas in the west of the city of Kediri, the majority of the population is working as farmers. Apart from being farmers, there are some people who work as pottery craftsmen where the resulting production tends to meet daily necessities such as boys, jugs and others. The touch of art on the work produced has not yet been applied to their products, so the work produced is more likely to be the same as other pottery craftsmen. The wealth of land as a basic material in the manufacture of grabah products in Kedungsari village is quite large and abundant to be considered and developed further as an effort to increase the income of the local community. Olek, therefore, it is necessary to hold socialization and training to produce good works of art pottery. The implementation of this assistance is carried out in 3 stages, including: planning, implementation and evaluation, the subject of this activity is 10 students majoring in Fine Arts Education and youth youth organizations in Kedungsari Village. From the results of this mentoring activity, it can be concluded that there was an increase in the skills and understanding of the participants who took part in the process of making art pottery. In addition, the results of this assistance provide improvements to the resulting product.
