Abstract

This research is motivated by the gap between the presence of morally-valued posters displayed in the school environment of MTs Swasta Tarbiyah Islamiyah Ulumahuam and the actual behavior of Grade VIII students who still exhibit habits of using inappropriate language and a decline in the values of courtesy and good manners in daily life. This study aims to describe and analyze the use of poster media in the Akidah Akhlak learning process for Grade VIII students at MTs Swasta Tarbiyah Islamiyah Ulumahuam. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative research design. The research subjects were Grade VIII students of MTs Swasta Tarbiyah Islamiyah Ulumahuam for the academic year 2025/2026. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive data analysis technique encompassing data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through technique triangulation, source triangulation, time triangulation, and member checking. The findings reveal that: (1) the use of poster media in Akidah Akhlak learning takes place in a planned and systematic manner, integrated into all phases of learning from the opening, core, to closing activities as an attention-activating medium, content connector, and value reflection tool; (2) students' responses are positive across three dimensions simultaneously cognitive, marked by improved understanding of subject matter; affective, marked by high enthusiasm and deep appreciation; and psychomotor, marked by tangible behavioral changes such as a reduction in inappropriate language, increased greeting habits, and a growing awareness of filial piety toward parents; (3) supporting factors include teacher competence, positive emotional bonds between teacher and students, institutional support, and the relevance of poster content to the curriculum, while inhibiting factors include the limited number of posters, suboptimal physical condition of existing posters, limited instructional time, and heterogeneity in students' initial ability levels.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the synergy between classroom teachers and Guidance and Counseling teachers in implementing the Pancasila Student Profile at SD Islam ‘Uluwwul Himmah, identify the supporting and inhibiting factors of the collaboration, and analyze its impact on students' character development. This study employed a qualitative approach using the phenomenological method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that the synergy between classroom teachers and Guidance and Counseling teachers is carried out through communication, coordination, collaboration in character development, evaluation meetings, and cooperation with students' parents. Classroom teachers play a role in instilling the values of the Pancasila Student Profile through classroom learning, exemplary behavior, and habituation activities, while Guidance and Counseling teachers provide counseling services and guidance for students who require special assistance. Supporting factors include the principal's support, effective communication among teachers, religious habituation programs, and regular evaluations. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors consist of limited coordination time, unequal understanding of Guidance and Counseling services, and differences in students' characteristics. To overcome these obstacles, the school strengthens regular coordination, improves communication among teachers, and involves parents in students' character development. This synergy has a positive impact on students' character, as reflected in improved discipline, responsibility, respect for teachers and peers, cooperation skills, and the practice of religious values, enabling the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile to be carried out more effectively and sustainably.

Abstract

This study examines parental supervision in supporting students’ independent learning of tahsin (Qur’anic recitation improvement) at Ma’had Love Tahfidz Daarul Fathan, Medan Sunggal. Although students live in a boarding-school environment, parental involvement remains important in maintaining motivation, discipline, and Qur’anic recitation quality. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The informants consisted of the ma’had administrator, tahsin instructors, parents, and students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. Data validity was established through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that parental supervision is implemented through regular communication, motivational support, monitoring recitation progress, and collaboration with tahsin instructors. Students’ independent learning was generally fairly good, as demonstrated by their ability to manage study time, conduct muraja’ah (repeated recitation), and use murattal audio recordings. However, some students still required guidance and correction, particularly in improving makharijul huruf (the articulation points of Arabic letters) and tajwid. Supporting factors included effective communication, cooperation between parents and instructors, students’ motivation, and a conducive learning environment. Meanwhile, obstacles included parents’ busy schedules, limited knowledge of tajwid, students’ demanding activities, peer influences, and limited communication time. This study concludes that consistent, communicative, and collaborative parental supervision can support students’ motivation, discipline, and independent learning in improving the quality of their Qur’anic recitation.
