Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi hasil observasi di SDN Buahngariung 1 Kecamatan Wado Kabupaten Sumedang tahun pelajaran 2020/2021, mengenai sikap ilmiah dan hasil belajar IPA materi perubahan wujud benda yang relatif masih rendah. Hasil observasi menunjukan masih banyak siswa yang belum memenuhi KKM yaitu 70. Selain itu, sikap ilmiah siswa selama proses pembelajaran kurang aktif sehingga kompetensi yang diharapkan tidak tercapai. Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan upaya untuk mengatasinya, salah satunya adalah dengan menerapkan model discovery learning. Tujuan yang hendak dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan model discovery learning terhadap sikap ilmiah dan hasil belajar IPA materi perubahan wujud benda siswa kelas V SDN Buahngariung 1. Desain penelitian menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), dengan desain dari Kemmis Mc Taggar yang meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah teknik observasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian menyatakan terdapat peningkatan sikap ilmiah siswa. Awal penelitian sikap ilmiah belum terlihat kemudian meningkat pada siklus I yaitu sebanyak 20%, dan siklus II kembali mengalami peningkatan menjadi 80%. Selain sikap ilmiah siswa, hasil belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan yaitu dari 30% siswa pada awal penelitian yang dinyatakan tuntas meningkat menjadi 50% pada siklus I dan 100% pada siklus II. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan model discovery learning dapat meningkatkan sikap ilmiah dan hasil belajar IPA materi perubahan wujud benda.

Abstract

Students’ social skills are often underdeveloped in upper elementary classes, particularly in Pancasila Education learning, which tends to be one-way and teacher-centered. This condition results in students’ limited ability to interact, collaborate, and express their opinions effectively. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the effect of the cooperative learning model Snowball Throwing on improving students’ social skills through a quantitative approach using a pre- experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study was conducted at SDN Jatihurip with a saturated sample of 23 fifth-grade students. The research instrument was a social skills questionnaire consisting of 24 Likert-scale statements, administered before and after the treatment. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, paired sample t-test, and effect size calculation. The results showed an increase in the average score from 54.78 to 80.57, with a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05) and an effect size of 2.943. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Snowball Throwing cooperative learning model is effective in improving students’ social skills and can be implemented as an active, collaborative, and meaningful learning strategy in Pancasila Education at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low level of students' scientific literacy skills, particularly in remembering and applying scientific knowledge, explaining the potential implications of scientific knowledge, evaluating scientific investigations, and interpreting data. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by digital flipbook media on the scientific literacy skills of fifth-grade students in the topic of the human digestive system. The research employed a pre-experimental method using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with a saturated sampling approach. The sample consisted of 26 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through test and non-test techniques using scientific literacy tests and a learning implementation observation sheet as the research instruments. Data analysis techniques included validity testing, reliability testing, normality testing, t-test, and effect size analysis. The results showed that the mean pretest and posttest scores of students' scientific literacy skills were 59 and 79, respectively. The t-test results indicated a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.01 < 0.05 in the Paired Samples t-Test with α = 0.05, while the effect size value was 1.22, indicating a high category. The implementation of the learning model achieved a percentage of 100%, which was categorized as very good. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by digital flipbook media had a significant effect on students' scientific literacy skills in the human digestive system topic for fifth-grade students at SDN Darmaraja I, Darmaraja District, Sumedang Regency, Academic Year 2025/2026, and can serve as an alternative learning approach to improve students' scientific literacy skills.
